MGSV:TPP LAUNCH TRAILER

If you think the
Big Boss turning into Skullface
is true, then you are falling for one of Kojima's weakest ruses imo

Yep this isn't the case, it simply doesn't make sense. No yeah I know plenty about the series doesn't make sense to many but most of it works within its own internal logic.
Big Boss is not Skullface
.

Guys, how about we, I don't know, SPOILER THE FUCKING POTENTIAL SPOILERS? Thank you :)

I think the purpose of this last trailer was to troll the shit out of one last romantic time. Hoo boy did it work

You people seeing spoilers in a trailer worry me. A "spoiler" in a trailer cannot be a spoiler by definition.

Gonna quote myself

Er, how though? It was a Metal Gear centric trailer, going across all the previous Metal Gear units and introducing the new one. That's literally all the trailer actually is. I liked that it didn't really show much other than that.

I don't think the skullface scene is a spoiler. Obviously there's a boss spoiler in it but I guess everybody who's on that level of a blackout isn't in this thread anyway.

I can't believe some of you people actually think Kojima would seriously put a spoiler that big in the trailer.

Not to mention it makes no damn sense.

Wait a minute. Still no full Sins of the Father? Kojima gonna leave me thirsting right up until release huh? It's so gonna be worth it.

Man I loved the last shot at the end with the whole crew walking towards the camera looking like badasses. That music they had them walking to was pretty damn awesome.

Guess what, if you're that crazy about spoilers that you think Kojima would undermine his last chance at a Metal Gear game, you probably shouldn't be watching any videos less than a week out from the game's release.

Rex had a dick laser, why are you people surprised?

Because except for the cute little nostalgia trip at the beginning the rest of it is just not as good as any of the other Kojima MGS5 trailers released.

Are there theories that suggest that
Big Boss's fake corpse in MGS4 = SkullFace
?

Could they have a
genetic link
?

Edit: Nevermind... that was Solidus Snake... I forgot about that.

I forgot a lot about MGS4...

But it doesn't "fall apart." The trailer has a central focus and kept to it. If you're upset that it wasn't one of his ten minute ordeals that's another story.

That trailer definitely felt like a farewell.

It's also a Kojima-trailer, guys. You can't trust that anything is or isn't a spoiler. We're seeing all Kojima wants us to see.

There's no damn reason that Metal Gear should exist, especially if Rex and Ray are the ones to follow it.

There is IIRC.

In fact that technology is locked up all the way up until MG:R.

I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere after doing a recent read-over of the MGS games again.

Dat emotional first half.

Then the hallway sequence and I can see how that could be a massive spoiler (albeit an expected one) but I could also see it being more of a transition showing what Big Boss could become if he carries on his path.

The finale was so cool though. Dat Metal Gear.

Yeah - that can't be the
that Skullface = Big Boss

Ground Zeroes Intro:
Haven't we seen Skullface in the Intro of GZ and minutes Later Big Boss at the other end of the Base?

People are assuming that it implies
Big Boss is actually Skull Face
But I think it just
Shows the progression of Big Boss, we all know how he is vanquished by Solid Snake in MG2. One of those faces looks remarkably similar to the "Big Boss camo" in MGS4, which was supposed to represent Big Boss's corpse.

To add to this, it is clearly meant to be a retrospective of Big Boss through the entirety of the series. As he walks down the hallway, starts in his MGS3 gear (complete with bandana), moves on to his Peace Walker threads, Ground Zeroes look, then Punished Snake, before
shifting to post-Metal Gear 2 immolated Big Boss

Holy Disappointment Batman.

The ultimate stupid looking Metal Gear..... complete with beast sounds and a whip? WTF? I get the series has hit the extremes of any shark jumping long before that moment, but that just is head scratchingly stupid looking/sounding.

I was on the fence about this game sense hating peace walker, that single scene changed this from a 2015 purchase to a "I'll play it when ever I get around to it".
