Let the SkyFoe,
when it crumbows,
we will stand toe,
through it all, together.

And then there's the chanting.

Ugh, don't remind me. Awful song. Tied with Die Another Day for worst in the series.

lol. It's as classic as they come (in this day and age, at least). The only genuinely great theme the series has had in 20 years.

This is nonsense. People will listen to any rank trash if you attach a popular name to it I suppose.

It is 99.999% Ellie Goulding. She has herself publicly hinted it. GAF wishing it to be Radiohead doesn't negate the actual real evidence that we have its Goulding. EON typically doesn't announce completely out of left field choices. Whoever the rumors point to pretty much is always the pick. It is going to be Ellie Goulding.

If it's Ellie Goulding I will be disappointed. Florence + the Machine pls.

I hope Florence gets a shot at a Bond theme someday as well, but she probably needs to gain a bit more mainstream popularity before she'll be seriously considered for one.

I'm more than fine with Ellie Goulding. She's great.

This movie comes out in a month and little over two weeks and I've hardly seen anything marketing wise. Skyfall had a much bigger presence and marketing push as I remember it.

Skyfall was the 50th anniversary film, there was lots going on.

That's pretty common I think. Tomorrow Never Dies is a bit interesting because it uses the credits song, which was sung by KD Lang, not Sheryl Crow's song.

It actually makes sense when you consider that Surrender (the end credits song) was actually supposed to be the Bond song for Tomorrow Never Dies, before someone at EON I'm guessing decided at around the last minute that they should get a new song sung by Sheryl Crow instead. It's a pity, since Surrender is a much better Bond song than Tomorrow Never Dies is.

I'd be hyped for Ellie

Given the rumours that Adele is releasing her album this holiday period it wouldn't surprise me if she turned down the gig. Her lead single needs to be something representative of that project, not something tied to a film. Hope they get her back for the next one though

Now is Ellie Goulding's weak and trembly voice really appropriate for a Bond theme song. Here's hoping for a surprise Florence theme as well.

I think his flatout denial + suggesting Goulding should do it pretty much confirms it is her. Gross.
Doesn't hurt she has outright hinted about it multiple times. Hell when it was all over the press one day about the rumor she just recorded it she tweeted out "Live and Let Die"

And Sam Smith has been very outspoken about how t should be Ellie Goulding. This is just another of many notches for Goulding.

Ellieg Goulding wouldn't be a good fit, the bond theme needs to be sung by a person with a stronger voice. Bring back Shirley Bassey, she's done multiple songs already and she's still got it.

I guess if they were going for someone contemporary, I wouldn't mind hearing The Weeknd do it. Or even Banks, she's brooding enough for a good Bond theme, but maybe too indie for it.

It seems to be Sam Smith, he posted a picture on twitter of a ring which has the Spectre logo.

Why? He doesn't work at EON, so unless he has Mendes' or one of the producer's ears, how would Smith saying it should be Goulding (which I don't think he actually said? iirc all he said was he heard Goulding was doing it) matter at all? I mean if you want to go that route, both Craig and Mendes are Radiohead fans...

It's gonna be Smith, Goulding was just a ruse. His tweet was scheduled and it makes a lot of sense building on all the rumours earlier this year. I remember Mendes saying last year that the artist had already been chosen. It's been set in stone for ages same as Adele was for Skyfall.
