Man this does look pretty cool wish them luck! Just watched the alpha vid and really liked what I saw.

Niiice! I love Detective/Noir settings and 16-bit JRPGs. Always thought of making something similiar back when I was working with the RPG Maker a lot.
This is a bit like what FFVII would've been originally if they had used Sakaguchi's first idea, I guess :P

I know the dudes making this, they are good people. I'm totally in. Also if anyone has any questions I can hit them up on facebook and ask them.

backed it at $10 a couple days ago but how do they expect to reach the goal if they had a limited number of slots to get the game period? :-s

Seriously i really hope it get funded.

In update#2 :

The 15$ Tier is RE-OPENED! Anyone on the fence about the game can now slide in at this really sweet price!

The 25$ Tier will be UPGRADED! Anyone who has the 25$ Tier or above will now have the opportunity to have Stretch the Bartender join their party in Pixel Noir! All of his attacks will be Bartending based and he can only be obtained through a $25 or higher Kickstarter pledge.

I was totally on board until I saw the turn-based combat. Extremely unfortunate.

The artstyle is incredible [aside from the out-of-place charge attack].

Looks awesome.

I'm torn whether I like the music or not. From the style and different music tracks it is really great. However, the tracks themself have too much repetition imo.

I'll probably take a look at this when it comes to Steam/Greenlight, it's on my wishlist. Day 60 buy.

That $25 tier makes me not want to back this anymore. Hiding content like that behind a paywall is a no-no for me. Some Kickstarter projects have done it, but not a playable character as far as I can remember.

many kickstarters do this as a way to add more digital tiers as physical items add a large amount of fulfillment issues.

I haven't backed any Kickstarter games that have characters that join you be a pledge reward. I have however bought those games if they were received well by gaming press and gamers. The same will go for this. If I hear good things, I will buy it.

it's not as bad as Flying Hamster II which is putting a companion character behind the $45 tier

I wonder if it would have had a better chance of making it if they hadn't foolishly had the $15 tier limited to start

as it stands unless they pretty much triple how much they've earned in ~16 hours it won't succeed which is too bad since it looks interesting

I've been a bit worn out by so many 8/16-bit retro games lately

but my god this looks great. It's the first of these projects I've seen in a while that really benefits from the graphics/art style. Everything about it looks terrific. I'll be pitching in shortly.

Combat in the original pitch looked like a chore, but this new trailer looks awesome. Has a very Shadowrun SNES meets JRPG vibe to it.

Wasn't Shadowrun on SNES Japanese developed (Data East iirc)? I know the MEGA CD one didn't even get a US release.

Anyways, game looks kinda neat and very reminiscent of Shadowrun on SNES, I'm not a fan of the grainy-looking graphics, though. Reminds me of an unattractive Genesis game and clashes with the more clean, SNES-ish looking character sprites.

ONLY JUST HEARD OF THIS GAME.

But I have ALWAYS wanted a noir detective RPG, as specific as that sounds. So happy it's coming to Vita!

Money!

This is exactly how I feel as well. I was really bummed when the first campaign just couldn't seem to get any attention. Really hoping this campaign is successful for them. :)
