Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Carefully worded announcements. They never said the announced songs were the only ones in the game. They just said it was the last Music Mondays tracklist announcement.
 
Yeah, looks like a set-up to get better known U2 songs in there through DLC I think.
Fine with me.

I guess that might conclude the list then? Surely someone will be able to pick up a copy of the game before they have another chance at a Monday reveal such as this one. Right?

I'm waiting for someone to find the entirety of The Dark Side of the Moon on that disc.

Lego Rock Band had two Queen songs.

Edit: Got beat. FWIW Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock also had three Megadeth songs and technically seven Rush songs if you count 2112 separately.
 
Have they said if the new guitar hero live guitars will be compatible with RB4 and vice versa? I'm assuming no since the buttons are different :(
 
I wonder how much the landscape of signing artists for games like these has changed, if at all, compared to RB3? Surely music streaming took a huge leap forward but I don't know if that makes a difference. Maybe bands are more interested in things like this now?
 
Lame about the controllers but it makes sense I guess. I'm getting both I suppose...I just wish RB4 had the tracks that GH has. I don't know or care for over half the RB track listing :(

Completely the opposite for me. GH has almost no tracks I'm interested in. RB has a bunch, plus they nailed three of my most requested. Granted, most of those are 80s songs, so maybe that's the difference.

Yeah, Rock Band 4's setlist is hardly the best in the series, but I think it blows Guitar Hero Live's songlist out of the water. There are only a handful of confirmed GHL songs that I want to see in Rock Band.
 
Should I be worried about availability of the legacy adapter post-launch? Is this thing going to be as hard to find as the Gamecube adapter for Wii U?

I missed out on the $10 discount, and I see it's restocked on Amazon but I don't plan on getting the game until mid November and have pretty limited funds this late in the month. (I'm an indie game dev/freelancer, sometimes my money gets stretched thin while I'm waiting on a check). While $35 after shipping is nothing to me normally, it's money I'd rather not spend right this second.

Am I gonna be safe to wait til mid November and still be able to find this adapter and/or the band in a box bundle?

I don't think they'll have any shortage of these. The availability of those adapters is very important for the sales of RB4 itself. Plus MadCatz is probably happy if they can sell these at high numbers.
 
I'm not quite signed up for it yet, but everyone likes Best Buy's GCU right? Thinking about signing up and pre-ordering RB4 in-store instead of going through Amazon. I don't even think I'll have an Xbone upon release of the game since I figure it's better to wait out for a 1TB Xbox One with the holiday deals that will be everywhere soon, and also with a potential price drop incoming. I'd like to support Harmonix's big release, though.

Having used the guitar, I just don't see it being a good guitar for the 5 button gameplay. I mean its possible but the mental gymnastics you will have to do just don't make it a viable guitar for the game. More power to em if they do and someone goes for it but I know I wouldn't bother. I will say I have had some fun with GHL but I wish the frets were bigger on the guitar... I hope I like the RB4 Strat, have not used one since RB1.

I tried to pre-order the guitar bundle at Best Buy weeks ago and I wasn't able to (said it was sold out online), so just a fair warning

The discount is nice, I just ordered my band pack (PS4 here) and got $50 bucks off. Got MGSV Collectors Edition day of launch with a meaty discount + the pre order $10 code for pre ordering.

It's worth it even for regular releases. I basically get every new release from GCU because of it.

I think they're talking about the second song being off the new album. That, and there are a few songs they have that are more famous than I will follow, and you might think they'd want one of the 2 or 3 most popular U2 songs on disc (i.e. Beautiful Day, With or Without You, etc.).
 
Wonder if there's any more surprises that we don't know about. 77 songs for XB1 digital preorder so far, not bad at all.

I'd love for them to get the legacy DLC into the system this week, imo there's no reason people who have preordered digitally shouldn't be able to download everything they already own ahead of time.

They've mentioned that they've tried working on it, maybe we'll have word sometime this week.

Roughly a week left and I am going nuts, Allitrhrasher said some roadcrew members have received their boxes, so I have been anxiously waiting all day for mail haha.

Is there an NDA for those? I'm curious about the guitar controller quality.
 
I pre-ordered the adaptor on Amazon with that discount code (thanks GAF) and I though I normally go physical disc I'm strongly tempted to digital pre-order on the XB marketplace to get the extra songs.

I figure the old instruments should hold up once I get the adaptor. My old USB microphones will work with the Xbox One, right?
