Isn't not spanking your kids the essence of pussification?

Not if you listen to GAF. GAF would have everyone that spanks their kids locked up for child abuse, if they could.

Gaf is right. Modern kids in an era of no spanking, are much more respectful to their elders, do less drugs, get better grades and are all, without exception, special.

I can't believe I managed to not hear about this story all day.....just getting the info now, after knowing that the kid was not even missing, is very fucking bizarre.....I can only imagine how much the panicky media was going fucking apeshit over this.

Surprised to see the anger, my first response (Without having read much about it) is actually quite positive, I'm glad to see the CNN's and such get duped.

But how does a kid know how to operate an air balloon?

You could say that but I think far more telling is the not telling your children 'no' part. Let the little fuckers do whatever they please because you don't want to be harsh and put a damper on their formative years.

I didn't realize spanking was the only way to discipline a child. Well I guess now I know.

Sounds to me like kids let the balloon go. Then either the older brother tried to cover for the younger kid by telling him to hide and saying he'd crawled inside the balloon or the older kid DID see the little kid crawl inside but the little kid got back out and hid afraid he'd get in trouble.

Think you nailed it. I don't know why the parents would plan this. Sure for some media attention but now you have people who are pissed more then they are relieved the kid isn't dead.

Let's not say "them" when talking about it, but instead refer to them as "us". Talking heads will trash these people when in fact, the problems lie in our society as a whole. :lol

Was it mentioned already that the kid outed his parents on Larry King pretty much admitting that they put him up to it? He said something like "My parents told me we were going to put on a show." Idiots.

:lol :lol @ Anne Frank being the #1 trending topic on Twitter.

"Yo Balloon Boy, I'm a let you finish, but Anne Frank had the best attic hideout spot of all time."

it's not about money. it's about some kid trapped in a balloon, or, something, and we've all got to do what we can.

Props to the guy I heard on the news who took one look at the thing and said "There's no way that balloon could lift a kid off the ground" (said it was too small)

Once the balloon came down, I said @ work: I bet he's hiding in a box in the basement.

Wrong room!

And, oh shit, this means the virus break out in a couple weeks.

^^^ I know it's old.

This ended pretty much as I expected it would end.
I fucking knew it! :lol

I saw the news story while my mother was watching the TV, and I commented that the boy is probably at his friends house, or at the arcade,

the myth busters balloon/kid experiment needed a lot more helium than that little craft could hold.

when you think about it, it's so dumb:lol

3,500 balloons were needed to lift the 44 pound kid a few feet.

People here in CO are readying their pitchforks and torches. The mood went from prayer circles to getting the kids taken from the parents and making them pay for the search and rescue efforts. According to the dad the kid won't be spanked or grounded because they don't believe in it and the mom doesn't believe in telling her kids no. They also have issues with pussifying as this cute rap video with the 3 boys show.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmlBPAY90MM

Apparently they wont face any charges or fines.

someone on facebook linked to a friend's website wantingdonations. something about a daugther stuck in a different state and can only be transported by helicopter and it'd cost thousands of dollars.

i don't know.

but i'm sure they wasted a lot of money on this. helicopter gas. etc.

This is a huge hoax. The parents are behind it. So obvious. Pitchfork time.

These are the dumbest fucking people on the face of the earth. If it's a hoax... don't put the damn kids on live television where they're getting interviewed!

Omg.

Authorities would have gotten it out of the kids either way, but to sink the ship on live television (with Wolf Blitzer for christs sake who probably came in his shorts thinking he's now a legitimate hard hitting journalist) has got to be the most bone head fucking move ever.

The quote:

interview said:
Father: (repeating Wolf's question) "If you heard us calling you why didn't you come out?"

FlightlessFalcon: "Uhmm... cause you said... we were doing this for a show..."

Father: (makes weird fart noise) (Or maybe that was Blitzer jizzing in his pants)

He says "you guys said...we did this for the(a?) show." How can we even know what that means? And don't forget this family actually was on a show in the past.

Can I also point out the irony in criticizing the authorities for believing his young brother but then taking what this 6 year old says and running with it?

Some of you really need to relax and wait for information.

really, you see the parents reaction to when he said that, this was a scam and wasted tax payers money, send them the bill.

Yep, reactions are all we need. Ever think for a second that perhaps you simply want to believe they are up to something? Let's save the pitchforks for when we actually know something. If it becomes clear they did something, by all means, go for it.

28 seconds in, watch as mom nods her head to him after she asked if he did hear the parents calling for him :lol

That was South Park stuff.

:lol I wouldn't be surprised if South Park riffs on this story sometime in the future. They are pretty topical after all they can churn out an episode in, what, mere weeks after an incident occurs?

Wow. What attention whores. The family already has enough appearances on TV and on youtube prior to this incident. Now this fucking shit?

Either that, the media is really bored.

Yes, that's what I said. I said, "Spanking is the only way to discipline a child. There is no other way."

They just had a Butter episode, but they really could do another episode with him regarding this. But it'll probably be Ike or someone young like that.

Or maybe if South Park had someone who craved attention and fame and would do anything to get it....

Admit it, how many of you fell for this story?

wow really? Throughout the whole thing you did not believe that a kid could be in a balloon? Whats it gotta take to make you care? If he was and died then how would you feel?

Remarks like that are stupid.
