No. Not really. The reason so many stats are kept though, is that baseball is a very structured sport that is conducive for stats to be interpolated. There's only a few handful of outcomes that can be occur. Games like soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse or chaotic and back and forth, almost battle like. American football is like that, too, but in a chess like structure were drawn up plays need to be called and executed. But once a play starts, its chaos. Baseball is the opposite of chaos. It's calm and control. I suppose that's the reason why many people who go to baseball games sometimes just to hang out with their friends and have conversations while not needing to really pay attention to the game itself.
