Shouldn't you be listening to Atmosphere or Aesop Rock then, or whatever the backpacking kids are listening to these days?

No, not at all. I don't listen to any of those modern rapper aside of Kendrick Lamar who releases some really good material. I'm more of a classic hip-hop guy with artists like DMX, Jay-Z, Nas, Ja Rule, LL Cool J, Dre, AZ, Biggie, Diddy, etc.

He knew what he was doing. This video and its gifs are gonna be everywhere. It's one of the most visually interesting music videos I've ever seen, as well.

Yeah man, Diddy is the GOAT.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
That's why I fuck with Drake... He doesn't five a damn about the haters and does his thing - just like Kanye.

"oh that's not hip hop".... No one gives a damn, you either produce good music or not. That narrow minded approach kept enough artist from achieving greatness.

Funny video lol... Expected something like the Hold On we are going home video, so that's a surprise heh.

Naw, they both care a lot about their haters actually. Fun video though.
At some level of course you care about what people think of you... Doesn't stop them to do what want though which is the point. Haters will hate whatever is dropped... So catering to them is pointless.

Damn, Drake's outfits on here are abysmal aside from the OVO sweater/sweatpants combo. At least his beard is on point.

I mean, Drake changed his whole image to cater to the crowd that constantly called him out for not being street. Releasing music for the streets in the process. Nothing wrong with that, a lot of it bumps. But he caters all the time. That's what makes him popular, his ability to make pop hits like Hotline and a banger like Jumpman.

This video is kinda brilliant. He's dancing like an idiot and that is gonna resonate.

It's crazy what a big hit this song has been before a video or any serious promotion. Although not too crazy, since Aubrey has been on a major winning steak.

I do feel bad for him tbh. But Drake didn't 'steal' his song, that's just ridiculous.

Drake responded to the accusations

he seems to acknowledge that “Hotline Bling” was based on “Cha Cha” and describes the song as a modern-rap equivalent to a dancehall artist recording their own spin on a hot riddim.

“You know, like in Jamaica, you’ll have a riddim and it’s like, everyone has to do a song on that,” Drake said. “Imagine that in rap, or imagine that in R&B. Imagine if we got one beat and every single person—me, this guy, this guy, all these guys—had to do a song on that one beat. So sometimes I’ll pick a beat that’s a bit, like, sunnier, I guess is the word you used, than usual, and I just try my hand at it. And that’s kind of what ‘Hotline Bling’ was. And I loved it. It’s cool. I’ve been excited by that sort of creative process.”

This guy is so corny. I can't believe Meek got killed by this boy.

It shouldn't be surprising. Meek Mill is the most insecure rapper in the game rn. Drake didn't even have to do shit, Meek would have self-destructed either way.

Is this what we're doing now?

Releasing music videos of wii shop remixes and locking that video exclusively to a single music service?
