Considering how emergent culture has practically ground to a halt, yeah, sort of. I feel like we've been coasting on fumes since the late 90's, but people are hanging more and more on every minor distinction in music, fashion, film, etc., etc. as though it were some huge revolutionary thing. Aside from the kooky Orwellian nightmare conspiracies of the 90's now being laughed at for not being a big deal instead of being completely insane and unbelievable, it's pretty much same shit different decade. Gotta love reboots of reboots though.
