Great. Can't finish the first quest in Concord (When freedom calls). Cleared all enemies, game doesn't notice it. Stuck in limbo.

Is there some way to holster a weapon? If I use a console the weapon goes away, but I can't find another easy way to stop holding it.

Just got to
Lexington
on my way to help some settlers with a Raider problem. This place fucked me up. I wandered in there and the first thing that happened was I got
shat on by a mini nuke.

I think that's a good stopping point for tonight.

Codsworth is OP, I can't kill anything cause he gets to them first. This game is a lot of fun so far, base building is pretty interesting too.

I watched someone play the game on Twich yesterday who went through the majority of the game without using VATS, playing it like an FPS. All this time, I didn't realize it was possible (then again, I didn't play much of FO3).

I'm trying to decide between this and SW Battlefront for PS4. Decisions decisions...

Yeah, that raider area is kinda hard in the worst way. Like, the actual enemies aren't that difficult, but finding them? I searched around for about fifteen minutes for this one guy who somehow was able to hit me through three grated staircases shooting straight down. He shouldn't have even been able to see me, much less get a bullet through that (I know when I tried later, it just pinged off of the floor).

If there's a patch this game needs, it's to visually impair the enemies as much as the player. Because right now, they're all a bunch of psychics who can see through walls.

In cases like that it's helpful to use VATS, it will highlight any enemies for you.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I absolutely love the game which is interesting, considering that I did like FO3 but love NV overall I am enjoying the presentation of the story content missions, and the general goal of the game. Sometimes things get wacky, but for the most part this is probably Bethesda's best looking RPG they have ever made. It animates pretty well, and the lip syncing is okay to poor. The mocap really adds a lot, and on PC there is a lot of detail in the characters faces and the animations really add the the cutscenes.

I'm having horrible luck finding ammo, please tell me there is some way to reload ammo.

Opening spoiler:
I absolutely loved playing through the actual day the bombs dropped, NUKE BLAST, lowered into vault, and it didn't quite go how I expected it would. As always the Vault Tec corporation is in on some fucking kooky shit science experiment freezing people. Wife Dies. You wake up get a quick tutorial on building shit, which later becomes part of a questline to establish more places for people and a group called the minutemen. Mind you they are a side quest it appears and not a main quest.

Scrap yellow houses in sanctuary in the builder mode.

Ah, didn't think I could do anything with them apart from assign people to them I think? Unless that is how you scrap them, will take another look though.

edit: Found the scrap button! Don't know how I missed it before.

I think in that Museum (where you find Preston/Minutemen), it's somewhere in that building but I can't remember where. I remember picking it up and being too heavy and dropped it, plan on returning to go pick it up again. Pretty sure it was there somewhere in that building.

Thank you, will check it out!

By the way for those that are on PC, when you are in workshop mode and scrapping stuff in your settlement, when you point at something and press R to scrap, it asks for confirmation and indicates you need to press the Enter key but you can press the E key and it acts the same.

Anywhere. Hold A to get out. I parked it at the Rocket Cafe.

Apparently there's an issue with armor just upping and disappearing.

Lost my first suit of power armor that way.

Don't know if someone in Sanctuary hopped into it during an attack and died wearing it or it just glitches out of existence.

pretty much any time it says to use enter, you can use e

my only control issue now (well, there's actually a lot, but this is the most annoying) is picking conversation answers with arrows when using mouse and keyboard

why can't I just use WSAD? it's not like I'm going anywhere when I'm talking

is it possible to edit the look of your player later? I can't be assed spending on hour right at the start, just want to start playing.

You can click the options too but yeah it's annoying

You wouldn't be able to properly give companions tasks if it would be WASD. If you are in command mode, you have to freely roam around and point your companion to something interesting. If you would be using WASD for talking you wouldn't be able to do so as you couldn't move.

Amazon UK still haven't shipped my order despite it being the release date and despite me being in Ireland. So right now if I'm lucky I'll probably get it Monday, when I'm back in work after my week off. Thanks Amazon.

One thing I don't like is how autosaves now look exactly like regular saves. In previous games you could always quickly distinguish the two, not so in this game.

Request a refund, complain to get a gift card or something and go pick it up in store somewhere.

That sucks.

That or go out and buy a copy and return it when your amazon purchase arrives...?

Ya keyboard/mouse controls are barely playable. Going to have to switch to controller as much as it pains me.
Keyboard and mouse seem to work fine for me. What issues are you having, mouse aim / VATS?

Also, I just got so burdened I couldn't run after looting my first dungeon. I haven't even found any merchants yet. I promptly decided to use that mod command that maxes your carry weight. Less hassle more playing. :D

Started this on PC last night, managed to squeeze 5 hours in, mostly messing about with settlements right at the start of the game.

I must say, it's rather good so far. No bugs encountered yet, runs smooth. Characters are not too obnoxious. Colour me impressed.

Shame that they made the main character a war hero, a hoarder would have been much more appropriate, it would put all these walk and talk conversations where I drift off into random burnt out cars and buildings while someone is talking to me and pick up that duct tape and hot plate (I NEED THEM) make much more narrative sense.

I've had this happen a few times. Guaranteed my butt.
