Nintendo Direct coming November 12 [Over]

I'd like to think they could fix some of that stuff with an HD remake. They did manage to fix a lot with WWHD.
The reason the blue coins exist in Sunshine is to fill up the content void left by the five or so worlds they didn't finish before release. They didn't add the two cut temples to TWW HD. so I imagine they wouldn't do the same for Sunshine HD.

Too good to be true, but a Direct announcement NEEDS its fakes.

Nintendo never capitalizes the word "amiibo" and always calls maps "stages".

Can't wait to see TP HD. Hope there will be an NX version later on as I don't own Wii U.

Why would anyone want SMS HD? Sure the visual revamp would be interesting to see but the platforming is mostly clumsy and obscure.

I like sunshine's platforming. Especially with fludd-less. HD can hopefully fix camera issues.

They could just make the blue coins less difficult/tedious, like the triforce shards in WW HD. I'm not asking for extra worlds, personally.

They need to figure out what to do with those 100 coin stars too cause those are tedious and unforgiving in some stages. Overall not that fun. Never liked it in 64 and in Sunshine.

It's the best open world platformer of all time. That's why.

No. It's the game that could have been the best open world platformer of all time if it was given a proper amount of development time. HD remake (even with slight touches like in Wind Waker HD) won't save it.

Fludd-less is good. The problem is not Mario but the level design which is often very goofy and cumbersome. The scale of the game-world feels weird and unbalanced for a platforming game. Tiny platforms and odd obstacles, it just doesn't make much sense.

It's not like the method of obtaining them was particularly cumbersome, just that there were too many of them. The only thing I can think of that could help streamline them is to severely reduce their numbers.

Better than Super Mario Galaxy 2? I'd beg to differ.
Just the platforming itself, I'd say. Galaxy 1 and 2 have incredible level design, but I've always thought the controls between Sunshine and Galaxy were like the difference between Melee and Brawl. Sunshine speedruns are amazing.

Reducing the number and requirements to purchase Shine Sprites (10 blue coins per sprite) with them would be nice. 240 blue coins is just way too much.

I haven't seen any sunshine speedruns, I'll have to look into them. The platforming highlights I can think of for SMS are the Noki Bay, Gelato Beach, Ricco Harbor, & the Dirty Lake secret levels.

Sunshine is such a cozy game. It has so much vibe I'd love to just wander around Delfino Plaza in HD. I don't even care about the flaws.

^Not sure why you don't think Mario Tennis will show just because Japan is getting a Direct too. It's not out there yet either and Mario is huge in Japan too. Also, Xenoblade Chronicles X would make sense for the western directs and should show up in them.

Maybe I missed it through the posts but is there any reason why we are expecting Sunshine in HD?

A (most likely fake) 4chan rumour that simply got the date right.

as it is!? maybe with another year of development time.

are you simply ignoring all the game's flaws just because you like it? or are you not aware of them?

Here's the thing, there's not even another platformer in the same vein as Super Mario Sunshine in terms of gameplay mechanics in a platformer. Not a single one. It wins by default. FLUDD opened up an entirely new dimension of platforming, as well as many different ways to approach the obstacles in the game. Combined with Mario's moveset and the level design, you're practically Cirque Du Soleil-ing your way around the environments.

Yes, the game has some issues, but the flexibility, variety, and freedom you're given to traverse the gameworld completely overshadows any bad thing you can say about it.

It means:
* No Xenoblade X
* Probably no Animal Crossing: amiibo Party or Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

But worldwide Directs still typically have region-specifc portions in which those games could appear. For the global parts, however, XCX certainly wouldn't appear unless it was somehow relevant to all of their audiences, you're right.
