ah ffs

died at the part where

deathclaw comes in the power suit

spoiler for like an hour into the game

Are there any non-human NPC's in this game that aren't hostile?

What happened to the "hey smoothskin" Gouls and the like? The game even directly references that not all Gouls are hostile but I'm yet to see any.

Can't comment to specifics (I've only explored about 5% of the map) but if there aren't any in vanilla then I'll bet ten bottlecaps they'll have a DLC, heh.

Playing on hard turns this into a world where I get one shotted everywhere.
Even the damn Mirelurks can only be killed by crazy dances around cars or buildings while shooting 392 bullets into them.

What the hell does the first level of Local Leader do? I thought it was supposed to make all workshop inventories share, but it didn't.

Ugh 2 points down the tubes unless I revert back 4 hours.

The game is surpisngly hard on hard. I want to do hard but I been sticking to normal.

Sounds like you might be wandering into areas that are too high level for you. The only time I've really struggled on Hard is getting attacked by 2-3 Legendary enemies at once in the Dunwich Borers area.

Remember, all enemies are suseptible to different damages and locations. Mirelurks go down with 3-4 shotgun blasts to the head. Don't shoot the shell.

I wanted to go back to Normal as well but the chance of getting those random extra enemies is too tempting.
Just got a rifle that has unlimited ammo.
UNLIMITED!

It's locked behind a companion quest.

you are a well of fallout 4 information, damn

anyone done Vault
81
yet? its one of the locations that
Hawthorne
in Diamond City tells you about. Spoilers ahead

spoilers etc

so...whats the deal? you get there and it starts a quest, which imediatly ends when you give the 3 fusion cores and enter. then I found a small quest inside to tell a story to some schoolkids, and...thats it?

That cant be it right? surely theres more? its a big ass, super detailed, prestine vault, surely theres a bigger questline involving it?

atm I feel robbed of my
3 fusion cores
lol

Am I being thick......if I look at my list of available quests/missions I can't seem to work out which ones are for the main storyline? Are they marked somehow?

I ran into a group of settlers that were having a funeral for a fallen comrade and there was a ghoul amongst them. No real interaction though.

Yeah, that's probably right.
The area after that had some people in it that shot me with radiation guns and I was dead from rad overdoes before I even had a chance to retaliate.
(a tad bit disappointing too that I could not chat with them, they were hostile right away)

Gotta walk into a different place but this kind of random strolling is one of the fun parts of an open game like this for me.

You know, I've seen TONS of legendary enemies so far on normal and low luck. They are one stars though. Is that a rank or just that it's a legendary?

I streamed this game 15 hours yesterday. This game is insane. I was a little wary at first because of all the hype but playing through it , it's easily my top game so far. I didn't think I'd get sucked in to the settlement building but man does it have me hooked in.

Just loving it.

I'm literally on my way to buy it now. The collectors one or whatever.

I've got lunch coming up and I think I'm going to run out and grab it. Give us a report after you get yours. I'd like to get several opinions on it if possible.

I got the Collectors edition. It's really great. Didn't get it until yesterday, have had the game for a week at that point, and have been using it to make sure I don't miss magazines and such.

That's a good point. I didn't consider that it'll give you locations on those as well. Does it seem to have a large section on where you can find certain resources? I want to be able to find out that City A is the best place to find Resource 101, and City B is rich in Resource 360, etc. Or if you need to get a lot of Resource 55, go to this location in the middle of nowhere and you'll find a large cache of it, etc.

I don't really need mission walkthroughs, I want intel on the stuff that will best help me build my amazing fortress of hot womens and amazing weaponry. :)

Equipping companions with missle launchers or a Fat Man can be hilarious and awesome. Also, the companion specific perks are pretty neat.

I've been rolling with Curie since I unlocked her, and that has gone some places.

I wasn't asking if the companions kill anything. That's part of the problem. The game is so easy most of the time that they kill too frequently, and you don't get any experience when they do that. They are also constantly blocking you, which is annoying.

How can I attach the power armor in the power armor station at Red Rocket?

Also, can I just store all my junk in the power armor station without risk of losing it? Where do you guys leave your PA normally?

I made a generator and used it to power a radio tower and a house. For some reason the lights in the house work but the tv doesnt. I checked and there is definitely enough power for all of it work. Any ideas why it isn't working?

Yep. Gotta go back for the other sides too on other saves, now I'm just gonna explore the wastes.

That's interesting, 23 hours is long for a main story line only Bethesda game, Skyrim was like 13 hours I think if you just did main story? Fallout 3 was slightly less like 11 hours. That's according to my own main story only playthroughs any ways. Interesting.

So while exploring Lexington, I came across Preston Garvey. Except,
it wasn't him at all, but an impostor. I confronted him about it, and he ran off.

I went back to Sanctuary to confirm it, but nothing came up. Is there something I'm missing here? It's like nothing happened at all.

Oh I figured out how to share inventories between settlements. You need to be in settlement build mode, walk up to a settler and press RB, and it will ask you where to establish a trade route. Wtf! Is this explained anywhere in game? Had to look it up on Google.

Keep doing things through there. That Vault holds a pretty dark secret.

Leads to eventually getting my favorite companion

Just go to the station and hit X.

Your junk SHOULD be okay as long as you store them in the workbench. I have two power Armors, one in Sanctuary Hills and the other at Red Rocket.

Loving the exploration aspects but I'm in agreement with those that are disappointed with the redesigned dialogue system. I get that they wanted to make conversations flow more naturally but it feels like much of what made the old system interesting has been sacrificed along the way.

The inherent problems with making players choose a representative word or phrase seems particularly bad here and I don't feel very in control of the role playing aspects, my character so far is the generic hero in need that says yes to quests. Maybe it improves, I know there's some choices, but it all feels very bland and not worth having specific characterization at all.

You have to link the TV separately i think.

How do I break down junk/stuff I collect in my inventory?
I had a hard time figuring this out yesterday. It seems like if you store them in your workbench, it will keep them as is until you make something. I'm still not sure BUT if you really want to make sure, get all the junk you want, drop them and then go in to workshop mode and you can scrap the items manually.

Do buildings ever get better looking in settlements? I see folks always working on them.

Is there ever a point where you get the option of putting down a whole house, instead of building them piece by piece?
