so I sprinted in a straight line towards its flying direction and I find this after about a good 30-40 minutes of searching.

Can you take a screenshot of your map where this happened?

I just checked and she was inside the roof. I shot her until she became unconscious then grabbed her chair and put it where it should be. Thanx for that!

*Edit: I have just given Jon Long a Fat Boy. A few raiders ran towards sanctuary and he fired it 3 times totally blowing them to bits.

I didn't have to shoot her because she didn't have her chair yet, I'm glad that worked out for you!

You also gave me an idea there. I figured if it worked for you I could also fix the floating in the air instead of sitting on the chair problem I was experiencing with her this way and sure enough it did. Moved it to a different spot and she sits on it properly now. So thanks to you too!

Codsworth almost murdered me for doing that though lol

McGRIZZLE'S FISTS-ONLY ADVENTURES IN THE WASTELAND -- LOG 3

Made it to Diamond City.
Everyone keeps asking me what I'm doing. I tell them it's none of their damn business.

As soon as the reporter lied our way in, I went past the shop guy and up some elevator. Found myself apparently in the mayor's office. Nobody around, so I stole everything of value.

Some cutscene with the reporter talking to a little girl made the camera spaz out for a while. Like I care about a goddamn reporter.

When the camera came back, I went into the back rooms. Found the receptionist sleeping. Tried to punch her to death, as I do. Guess she's essential... urgh. Went and hid in the other room until she went back to sleep. She talks to me now like nothing happened. Must've thought it was a nightmare.

Went back down the elevator and told the little girl to mind her own damn business. Goddamn people askin' me shit.

Found a bar, the "Colonial Taphouse." Husband and wife arguing about going home, bartender and the husband start playing a game of Punchy-Punch. These people are all right! I decided to join in on the game and punched the wife to death at the bar.

Apparently they play Punchy-Punch different in Diamond City, because the other two guys stop punching each other and start punching me. One of 'em even pulls a gun. Where I come from we gots two rules for Punchy-Punch:
1) No weapons, especially guns
2) Ya don't stop punchin' still the thing you're punchin' is dead

Now these guys just broke both goddamn rules. Must be some American League bullshit. Anyway, I had to put 'em both down, McGrizzle style.

Dogmeat started biting some old lady in the back. Figured since my punchin' arm was so loose, might as well get some more whacks in. She runs away! I let her go and focus on the room. Another guy in the corner... and a blind guy. Figure there's not much honor in punchin' a blind guy, and he's sittin' there drinkin' his coffee like a gentleman, so I leave him be and punch the other guy into oblivion. Blind guy just keeps drinkin' his coffee. What a gentleman.

Now, that old lady comes back with some guy. Two on one, I like those odds. I punch her guy friend to death in the doorway. She goes back to her table and tries to take up like nothing happened before. Nuh uh. That's not how the rules work. I punch the shit out of her for wastin' my time.

Now some robot with a chef's hat comes in and starts shootin'. My knuckles got no problem bustin' metal, so I get to work. Sonuvabitch is tough, and I gotta take his health bar down 3 times before he's down for the count. Tried to take his chef hat but the damn thing's stuck to him. Shame.

After that I took everything off everyone so I'd know where I'd been. After a while it gets hard to remember who ya punched and who died of non-punchin' causes. So this makes it easy on me.

Decided that I'd painted such a pretty picture that I might as well take a couple mementos.

Til next time... keep on punchin'.

This is glorious, I couldn't stop laughing.

Does anyone have a list of all the main quests or know how many they are? Not sure at all how far I am into the story.

I just finished
Institutionalised
if that helps, how far am I from the end?

...need more, please?

Also, can someone link me to part 1 and 2? This thread moves so goddamn fast. This is amazing, hahaha

after it flew over my head, I looked at the map to see what direction it was heading, which is the direction I am facing on the map. It landed somewhere across the bridge, but before the farm.
Thanks a ton. Gonna try it. Hope it isn't luck based.

I also want to read the rest.

How do I shot web? I got a broken T45 arm and neither the armor hoist, nor the crafting station gives me fix options.

You need more junk! Lighters are primo.

So, how;s the game so far?

Janky, glitchy, but quite good, quite good.

Sorely disappointed that so far it seems like you can't become a really bad guy though---I missed occasions where you can blow up a city filled with innocent people just for the sake of a rich guy finding it annoying to look at--- only sarcastic jerk at best, but all in all quite good.

I need help, I gave some stuff to a dude who was with me on a mission, is there any way to get my items back? The mission is over and I cant cmmand to transfer.

Anyone that plays this on PC switch to using a controller? Or the Xbox Elite Controller even?

I'm not liking the UI so far. Keyboard/mouse seems off.

So, um... Diamond City Radio seems to have just stopped working? :/

Edit: Okay, sitting in a chair for 24 hours seems to have fixed it. Oh Bethesda...

I pre-ordered this game and completely forgot about it until it showed up at my doorstep yesterday.

This is the first Fallout game I have ever played. In fact, it's probably the first RPG after Mass Effect 2 and Deus Ex Human Revolution I've ever played.

Uh...

Eh, so far. I've never been a big RPG dude. The opener was pretty neat. But combat sucks balls. I've gotten so used to there being hit reactions and shit when I shoot things. And this VAT system is stupid. How the hell do you guys play like this?

Visuals are decent enough. Didn't have super high expectations considering how deep this game is supposed to be. I like the VA for my guy. I hate it when protagonists are silent. I really like the soundtrack. Atmosphere is quite nice. I'm fond of Codsworth and my dog. Character customization was cool, I made my dude look like a Bollywood star.

But yeah, this combat is garbage. To be honest, I was expecting gunplay on par with like... Deus Ex or something given how hyped everyone is. Hasn't this game been in product for something like seven years?

Dumb question about turrets: which is the shooty side? With the dual tub canister looking things facing forward or the long pointy part forward?

holy shit mama murphy won't shut up.
I accidentally put her chair right behind the workbench and now that she's in it, I can't move it. she's literally saying the same 3 lines every 5 seconds lol

I haven't reached any real towns yet, but to me this feels sort of like RAGE 2, or maybe an action-oriented Fallout spin-off. I haven't played Fallout 1 or 2, but what you do in the opening hours of this game feels like the opposite of what I imagine the original Fallout RPGs are like. It feels a little like Bioshock but with slightly stronger RPG elements.

I don't think I'm really disappointed at that. My main concern right now is these opening hours haven't given me much opportunity to role play with my character, which was in my opinion the best thing about Skyrim. Hopefully when I reach an actual town and start interacting with NPCs and quests more of that will come up.
I'm just a bit surprised this game rushes you right into power armor with which you mow down a whole group of raiders.
Even in Fallout 3 the first thing most people encounter out of the Valut is Megaton -- a town where they get to make a bunch of character-related decisions.

X360 controller, as always.
It's pretty smooth and enjoyable so far. I don't have to use that mouse aiming tweak either.

Yeah, the pacing took a 180 degree compared to the previous game. But it's kinda similar to New Vegas. The main city is kinda far away from your starting point. However, you can still get some character interaction before the main city in Fallout 4, as you'll have settlements.

I don't get this game, everything kills me in 2 hits, and I have no ammo or healing items.

Also, VATS seems pointless. I miss every time, or do very little damage.

I must be missing something.

LMAO when you steal a power core from someone's power armor.

Haha amazing. Did he have any dialogue for when his armor suddenly powered down?

I've shot at the fusion core in VATs before, it goes critical and then nuclear after a few warning beeps
I am trying to take down a legendary raider and I cannot get the damn mine to lay down. How do you lay a mine down?

It's the same as grenades. Hold RB/whatever grenade button is on keyboard then release

Shoot her to make her unconscious. Then go into build mode and move the chair.

Throw it like a grenade.

On that note, explosives are mad over-powered in this game, holy shit. Survival difficulty is for chumps when you have a good supply of grenades and molotovs.

Is that mama murphy conning me asking for all these drugs? She's had the 1st lot and the mentats off me

switch to, lol

I can't imagine playing this with a mouse and keyboard. Maybe with some mods or something , but it feels very natural with a 360 pad

You can lower the difficulty at any time.

Food iterms in your inventory will heal you.

In VATS, the numbers displayed are your % chance of hitting that spot. You can be reasonably sure of a hit at 80+

I saw it on reddit so I wouldn't know haha I think im gonna add some points to stealth now :P

Ammo and health does look to be hard to come by at tge start of the game as to are good weapons I'm about to start modding some existing weapons and see what happens.

As to VATS I beleive PER can increase accuracy while using it.

Even New Vegas however started you out in a town with a handful of characters to explain the situation. I was just caught off guard with how you spend the first three hours of Fallout 4 running around and shooting.

Great game so far. I spent hours just scrapping all of the clutter in sanctuary.

Anyone have a good link to a guide for settlements?

Seems like I can't quite beef up defenses yet. I probably need to get more resources. I made a flame turret but it keeps running out of oil? Do I really need a ton of oil to keep it going? And how do I place workers on one of the defense stations? I only have the group that bring back from concord and I can't seem to put one of them on a station.

In build mode, select a settler then select what you want them to be assigned to
