I finally got through Corvega. That place is fantastic, lots of enemies and I assume a great source of Steel. Just looting it now with Dogmeat.

I love some of the music on the classic radio.

Wandering into a warehouse full of raiders and blowing them all away with the
Spray 'n Pray gun
while Blue Danube is playing.

Glorious. I love this game.

I'm having a hard time figuring out my starting points. I keep remaking my character and changing my spec. Would love some help on this. Think what I've read online is high charisma, and enough perception and intelligence to get the lockpicking and hacking perks.

My advice, take enough CHA to get Local Leader perk. Take enough Perc and Int to get the hacking and lockpick perks. After that do whatever you want (possibly enough in whatever stat to get all the modding perks)

if I redid my build i'd do this:

S 3
P 4
E 2
C 6
I 6
A 3
L 4

Played the game for a bit now in the last few hours, definitely feels like Fallout and it has some nice changes of pace. Yeah this time it's personal but it always turns out that way. Still a good motivating factor involved. Probably more so if you invested time making them look a certain way.

One big surprise, radiation storm! I hadn't expected that since weather hasn't been a factor so much before.

Did anyone else find the mascot head? I wish it came with some kind of perk like the rest of the unique equipment, but I'm still wearing it out of the sheer fucking terror it must cause in my enemies (and the backstory behind it is pretty cool).

Holy shiet.

I've found my first real issue with the game. I have 5 points in Perception yet I still miss a shit tonne of shots in VATs, some of which are at point blank range. It's a bit stupid. I can usually kill an enemy much quicker with regular shots. It's disappointing.

Give VATS accuracy a buff, Bethesda.

soooooo this quest says talk to paladin Danse to hand in (its the whole distress signal quesline, I finally finished it), but now that hes my companion, I cant hand in the quest

did I break the game (well that quest at least)? I tried dismissing him but then when I talk to him again I can only tell him to come with me as with the other companions

edit: he even has the little quest thing above his head ffs

Yes. This is what happened to me. I want to just shoot Paladin Danse in the face. Pissed me the fuck off.

I guess you can't add things like doors to already existing buildings? I am trying to make the gas station my temporary home and i want to add a door but it stays red?

Upgrade your weapons. I'm pretty sure the upgrades which increase your accuracy vastly increase hit % chance.

Which outfit is this? Can you wear modular pieces on top of this?

I've found that you can't which is disappointing. I'd love to wear the awesome trench coat I got off Nick's wife yet when I wear it, it takes up every armor slot instead of just the underlay.

I'm not home at the moment, but I'm pretty sure in the pic I was wearing the raider leathers with the wastelander's chest piece (or something similarly named) on top, plus some modular parts that you can see on my shoulder and leg.

I got around this by building little extra bits onto every entrance, then having doors on the outside of THOSE

Charisma sucks usually it just gets you extra bottle caps. U make no real choices so don't bother

They really need some sort of easy overview of which Settlers are doing what in your settlement. It's a pain in the ass to highlight them and see what they're supposed to do when they're not near the thing they're assigned to do.

So at least

3 str
4 per
6 cha
6 int

That gives me access to all modding perks, local leader, and the hacking and locking picking unless I'm missing something. Leaves me with 6 left over points. Is there another perk or stat that anyone recommends that I need?

edit: if I redid my build i'd do this:

S 3
P 4
E 2
C 6
I 6
A 3
L 4

ok so basically close to what I was thinking.

This is definitely the hardest part about settlements.

It also seems like some of my corn and others are bugged. I can just build over them and can't interact with them anymore, they don't light up :(

I need this helmet right now, most look stupid so far so I've been rolling without one.

...you know what, I haven't checked how big is the build area, but I am *REALLY* tempted to just abandon Sanctuary entirely and just set up a place to crash/store shit at Red Rocket just for my lonesome need... does it have big enough space for a big house, I wonder.

i don't think you get quite as much space as sanctuary, sadly. i'm trying to make up for it by building vertically though.

That mascot head is awesome 😁

Love this game so far, I'm doing the mission with paladin danse right now. I'm always overincumbered, I need to buy that house in Diamond City so I can have a place to throw these heavy weapons I can't use due to lack of ammo. There's no way I'm leaving the first fat man I found on the ground.

theres some nasty business going on in P
ickman's
G
allery
O_o

i really wish there was kind of cloaky light armor that was akin to some drifter sniper type

the road leathers and raider gear + limb upgrades do nothing for me, visually

im still rocking this wanderer garb i found early on

You can throw weapons in any workbench, they don't automatically get scrapped.

Mild side quest spoilers.

I just ran into Brother Andrew. We didn't agree. He got a face full of lead.
Did I dun goof? Do you get something tasty for joining?

I asked this yesterday, but can anyone explain to me what V.A.N.S. actually does? It feels like I wasted a perk. I haven't noticed anything, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Is all it does add those little green icons when you're close?

Hey guys I hear Tinker Tom in a specific faction I won't specify can upgrade outfits. Thing is I'm there and I only see an option to barter.

Anyone know how to see the upgrades he can give outfits? I'd love to be able to wear the drifter outfit but it has no defense and if it at least had around the same charisma as my suit combo I'd consider but it doesn't.
Tinker Tom anyone?

Turned out it was my mistake, haha. These are sliding doors and i had forgotten that this particular door had been opened. :)

I am surprised by how many things you can store or scrap in this world. Even things outside the gas station can all be stored for yourself over scrapped. I am not planning on doing that though, i just wanna explore, loot and do quests mostly. Maybe later some building.

I am not far in the game but i do have a Power Armor, i have it at the gas station now, but is there a way that i can see and use the armor when i enter another town that has the Power Armor station too or will all of this happen later on?

Is there a way to mark a house as mine? Like have no one else try to sleep in my bed? Or maybe I should just make one house at the movie theater with no food?

So I think I lost Dogmeat. I got to the first town with Dogmeat and I got the
power armor
on the roof. I then wreck the
Deathclaw
. Dogmeat is no where to be seen. I then am able to have
Codsworth
as a companion and the game asked me where I wanted to send Dogmeat to. I stated to go to the Sanctuary but he is no where to be seen. Has this happened to anyone else?

How do I hang the power armor onto the yellow bench? When I walk up to it the only option open is Transfer and pressing E just causes me to walk out of it.

So after 6 or so hours I think I'm going to re roll with a new character.

I don't like the way I have my special stats plus i regret some of the choices I made in game.

I did the same thing. You want me to give you all my belongings? Here, have this mini-nuke to the crotch instead.

Find the dog houses in Sanctuary. He'll be at one. Then delete all of them and make a doghouse wherever you want him to spawn.

Get out near the yellow station. Then go to yellow station (highlight it) and hit "Crafting." It'll be docked properly.

Looks like you can unlock some craft for your base :o

Also, how often do you guys see Legendary enemies ? I've put the difficulty to hard but I didn't see even one :/

Cool - I'll need to check this out. I dismissed him before I knew what was going on in casual conversation with Piper, but that little mutt stole my minigun! Among other stuff. Hope he still has it on him and that he's in on the doghouses.

I hate how little warning there is when switching companions.
