To be fair, framerate will likely be improved as well.Should have went with $10, seeing as how you can find all of these physically for less than that, and they're only touching the resolution. I'm assuming the trophy support will be very limited, too, seeing as how there are no plats.
I'd probably pay the difference to 'upgrade' my PS2 classics versions. But I'm not buying them all again from scratch. It's worth mentioning PS2 classics on PS3 cost $10, so they are effectively charging $5 extra for the upressing and trophy support.
If you haven't played arc the lad twilight of the spirits and like tactical RPGs makes sure you play it. It is very good
Were PS2 classics given out on PS+ for PS3?I hope some of these games eventually come with PS+
Rogue Galaxy
Whoa, does this mean we are going to finally get a chance to play Shadow of Rome, Burnout Revenge, Genji Dawn of the Samurai, Okami, Onimusha3?

When Nintendo does it, no one bats an eye.
When Sony does it, everybody loses their minds.

15 dollars for a PS2 title with just added Trophy support? Yeah, no. Even with the upscaling that's just too expensive.
Also, is it confirmed this won't support old PS2 classics? Sucks for people who already owned these games.
EDIT: Apparently it is confirmed. Ridiculous decision.

Nope.I strongly disagree.
The original game is really under appreciated.![]()
What a joke.
Not only are they not compatible when the titles are available they are even more expensive because of an up-res and trophy support. This is not the best way to implement this.
Microsoft showed how to do BC right. This goes the opposite direction.
Can someone explain upressed 1080p to me? Is it going to look closer to an SD or HD game?
How much better are these going to look compared to the emulated PS2 games on PS3
It's not BC. It's like mini-remakes. BC wouldn't include trophy support.

$15 does seem a bit high, but I've wanted to play Dark Cloud again for yeeeeears. Got the disc and manual on my shelf, but no PS2/BackPatPS3 to play it on.
Now add the second as well so I can play both and really re-live some of my childhood.
This is the complete opposite of what I want.
1) This requires development effort, which means a lot of the third party games I want won't be released on it, such as :
- Suikoden 3 to 5
- Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne
- Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter
- Valkyrie Profile 2
- Dragon Quest VIII
- Radiate Stories
- Grandia III
- Shadow Hearts 1 to 3
- And the most important game, Xenosaga Episode III
2) These games are made specifically for PS4 which means when PS5 rolls around, we're in the same boat and all our old purchases are wasted.
3) Same as above, all our existing purchases, whether disc-based or buying their current PS2 classics are wasted.
This is a fucking money grab. You could have supported both, with emulation and "enhanced emulation" (trophy support, up rendering, etc) for those select games. Shame on you Sony.
