I have no clue what to make of some of the stuff I'm hearing.

It feels like anything substantial is going to be in Episode 8. Ugh.

Also Rey chopping off Kylo's arm? Are you fucking kidding me?
Introducing new characters, new villains, and ending with those characters on a journey to become Jedis isn't substantial?

I don't even understand how people who seemingly viewed the movie, as they're getting unreleased details right, are having such stark differences.

Could be worse. There could be a 3 year wait in between films. Instead it's less than two years between Saga films with an average of at least 1 SW film per year.

Incredible that it's only six months between Rogue One and Episode VIII.

I do not see any differences in the recent comments from users at Reddit and TFN vs the pastebin. They all seem to line up exactly other than some buy into Rey/Finn more than others.

Well some possible sources were arguing about stuff like Finn is brought with Rey to Luke while another person says Finn was left behind. I don't even understand how something like that could be ambiguous.

I thought for sure they were going to fill in some of the blanks but we're getting nothing on a lot of stuff such as the Temple attacks.

I wonder if there is going to be an actual love triangle in this. They're casting actresses who have chemistry with Boyega which implies some sort of romance. Then there is Rey and Finn sure as hell isn't Rey's brother.

I am not exactly sure what you want?

You're finding out that there was a temple attack in this film. This is the first film in a trilogy so expect there to be more questions than answers coming out of it. That's the nature of the beast.

Wow that barrygibb guy destroys the movie ugh

I highly doubt we have another Phantom Menace here but to read the "well it's better than the prequels" thing already is disappointing if that's the only saving grace.

Having said all that his idea of what's bad might be different to us. I remember seeing some early negativity regarding X Men Days of Future Past on social networks and I love that film.

I expected more than some quick flashes like in the trailer. Now that I think about it, the trailer showed off much more than I thought at the time.

I'll just have to wait and see how it's all directed and handled.

I always figured Rey and Finn would be love interests since that clip of them introducing themselves to each other came out.

Bingo. That's what I assumed.

I want that to be the case. The amount of salt of the people who hated boyega when they showed he was stormtrooper.

It sounds surprisingly dark. If it turns like they are saying it does

It really doesn't as both Han and Leia had essentially no screentime at all with Ben even when he was a Force Ghost. However it's not the biggest of deals, although it's kinda odd.

Han had screen time. It wasnt a lot but he did. Leia was the one who reached out to try and find him in the beginning of ANH.

Ben and Han had screen time. Leia doesn't know Ben personally but she is the one who sends the message to him.

If Luke doesn't have a son I can see them naming their son after Ben in memory of a great Jedi who was instrumental in the Clone Wars and later helping Luke bring down the rebellion.

I don't see how this is far fetched at all.

Barrygibb says everyone is loving it TPM style right now but it's gonna get shit on as it simmers in analysis.

Bah.

Can you point me to more BarryGibb reviews so I can get an idea of his taste in films?

Yeah I agree this is not bad and kind of cool. It doesn't matter they weren't around him, they acknowledge his importance. In fact him convincing Luke to join his cause was the single most important act.

I actually always assumed there was going to be chemistry between Rey and Finn. But in 8, that leads to jealousy. They were testing actresses with Boyega for 8. I think when Rey is done her training and sees Finn with another woman, it might lead to jealousy and anger.

Omg please no.

which will lead to the dark side

Is this all leading to suffering?

Omg please no.

The original trilogy had a love triangle. They kept it downplayed and then eventually a couple of them ended up being siblings.

The love triangle in the prequel trilogy was a delusion of Anakin Skywalker. (Unless Padme and Ben boned and somehow Rey is their grandchild).

I guess we might be getting one here as well.

She did have a rather thirsty look in that scene.

The more I think about it...the more it kinda seems likely. There are other little things. I noticed they specifically focused on them holding hands in Jakku. Now granted, they were running for their lives....

The fact that the goodbye scene always seemed like it could have gone in a variety of ways (I was expecting them to like, dap up and say see ya later, wasn't expecting him to be in a non-lucid state...jesus).

They also go drinking and it seems as though Finn tries (and fails) to protect her against an alien or something.

The scene where she is "touched" that they came back for her. I imagine most of this gratefulness will be directed towards Finn (Who is, apparently a scaredy cat for most of the movie).

Crawling around in the tiny smuggler cabinets of the falcon.

And obviously fighting for one another. From this perspective...I could see a lot of potential for that type of story.

Anyways...have we all really agreed that pastebin was right?

this chemistry doesn't need to mean anything, it could be finn's stromtrooper sister or stormtrooper mother, maybe even a distant stormtrooper cousin. I imagine he will get some backstory and try to connect after he leaves the order.

what makes me wonder more is where it leaves the skywaler legacy if rey isn't one.
kylo doesn't look much like someone who is interested in romance.

Dark side female character would work. And change the story completely. Imagine 8 ending this way? She can't control her emotions, maybe even kills his love interest? This would make 9 a whole different film. Maybe she even joins Kylo.

Wouldn't you be angry that the one guy you finally trust leaves you for someone else? You're finished some of your training, can't wait to show off and see them but they're going down a different path? I don't think this isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I also think Kylo is going to turn to the light side but live. He's going to be the first character in the films to live on knowing both sides of the force.

Dude organized a rescue party and sacrificed himself to save you and get your husband off the Death Star.

You don't at least consider naming a kid after the guy who didn't that?

I don't think they will allow Luke to fail twice. He failed in Ben Solo's training and later in Rey's? I don't think they will go that far.

Wait if all of what I said about then turns out to be a major plot point for the rest of the trilogy, I need to remember these posts 15 months down the road haha.

And NeoGAF can get the credit :)

Yea when at Mos Eisley and early on but I never got the sense that Ben left much of an impression on Han.

The rebellion didn't make much of an impression either though, he changed. I can buy Leia and Han naming their son after an important figure like Obi-Wan. Usually this sort of fan-service bothers me (like Harry Potter), but I'm cool with it here. At least it isn't Obi-Wan Anakin Porkins Solo.

lololol

It's finally hitting me that in a couple days I'm going to be watching a new Star Wars movie.

I'm so excited!! :D :D :D

um why? That would be the most interesting story in the story universe.

Because as far as we know he was taken from his parents at a young age. He only knows his name as a designation. You're going to have to establish why his parents are important to the overall universe before embarking on that journey.

It's definitely a personal journey worth taking for Finn but I'm not sure if it will have room in the films.

It sounds to me like Rey's parentage is left open for debate. Might be Luke's daughter, might not be. If she is, we'll find out in Episode VIII.
