Hammill actually recorded new audio for that, you can hear it under the ROTJ lines.

Maybe it was just for trailer purposes or maybe he meant to say something at the end of the movie, and Abrams just cut it up.
It was just for trailer purposes. Hamill mentioned he recorded the dialogue a week before the trailer was released.

Yep.

I first suspected it when I heard it in the theatre, and just confirmed it now.

Around the 1:30 mark

My take on why that particular cue was used is that they played into the symbolism of when Luke and Rey both decided to accept their destiny. Going back home and seeing his folks burnt to a crisp made Luke realized that it was time to join Ben and begin his training. Rey seeing Finn KO'ed made her realize that she had to stop running from the lightsaber and her past/future.

Wow. Good call.

So is rey lukes daughter?

Really liked it. Rey and Finn are great, and BB is the nicest droid ever. Hope he plays just as big a role in the next one and is not replaced by R2 too much.

Also hope Rey is not a Skywalker. Would make Luke the most scumbag dad ever leaving her on that planet. Just let her be an unrelated totally new character that is Force sensitive.

Droid has secret info, stranded on sandplanet, runs into the loneliest person on there, this person brings the droid to the rebellion and finds out they're force sensitive. Rebells are about to be destroyed by a big ass laser cannon, but they find out about the one weakness and manage to avoid total destruction by destroying that base through a tiny weakness.

I mean come on. We've all seen A New Hope.

It's blowing my mind that some people really didn't like it

After I walked out I figured there'd be near universal praise. It's not perfect but there's so much to enjoy

To each their own I guess. Just surprising

Rey seemed to tap into the dark side/her anger a bit at the end during her duel with Kylo Ren.

It might be interesting if they set it up so that Kylo was of "good" lineage but turned to the dark side and Rey was of "bad" lineage, maybe a daughter of a Sith/dark Jedi, but grows up following the light.

Or that could be awful :)

Anybody else got the vibe that Poe might be gay? The way he bites his lip at Finn when he tells him to keep the Jacket cause it suits him or whatever.

Yup, my theory as well.

Uhm not really.

Man i really wonder what people expected...

Ive got what i wanted. A worthy successor to the old trilogy.

I agree with the soundtrack though. I lacked this imperial march or duel of the fates.

Can't please everyone I guess. But really, I wonder how many of these meh reviews are trolling.

All I know is this is the best Star Wars movie in a fucking long time, and I'm going to enjoy this trilogy.

Also, the audience I was with fucking LOVED IT. Standing ovation.

Can't wait to see it again.

my god, you cracked the code

how could you have seen through jj abrams' ruse

Ren says he already died, figuratively speaking.
He talks to Vader as if he was still alive and was evil again or never went good.
It's extremely unlikely that he wouldn't know Vader went good in the end and became "Anakin" again.

I wonder how that will be sorted out in the next movies. Almost sounds like there is some plot left about Vader.

Maybe when Ren says he will finish what Vader started, he means finishing off whoever was behind Palpatine. Killing Palpie was not a finished job. He's hiding his real intentions from Snookie.
