I can already tell how much this game is all about highs and lows. When you win it feels god like, when you lose you feel really shitty about it haha.

Kneel before the boot.

I'm beginning to like Karin, but I am a disgrace to the Kanzuki family. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong, but if anyone has one or two things I could focus on, it'd be great to hear. Like a bread and butter "This is a good thing to do when you get an opening" or "What's good in command dash for Karin?" I do love how much respect her V-Trigger activation gives. Some people know what she can do with that. (I'm not one of them, it's a total bluff when they get scared of me.)

Things we weren't expecting to be saying a year ago: "Yeah, Birdie and Dhalsim might be the best characters."

Dhalsim has always had my number in any Street Fighter. Looks like he's even better in SFV. Haven't faced any Birdie's in this and the last beta test I participated in.

I don't see Birdie being a very popular character for the majority of the casual audience, so I wouldn't expect to see too many prowling online.

When you get an opening, go for uppercut into v-skill, that's my BNB, builds a little bit of v-gauge and does decent damage.

Command dash is always good for throws, I do it all the time when I miss my uppercut, Kappa.

About v-trigger, my favorite thing about it is rekka -> up + punch reset, link into st. LK xx Uppercut

Is this player name thing gonna be in the retail version? If so I gotta start thinking of a good one.
Has to be, they need a layer between Steam and PSN.

Those don't sound like Karin combos.

Maybe I have to buy a PS4 to play. PC is completely unplayable despite meeting the requirements.

What are your specs?
I don't meet the requirements and i have a locked 60fps at 1080p with resolution 100%, textures max, shadows med i think and i think everything else low. It still looks amazing, textures make the biggest difference visually by far.

Is there a way to practice with instant matchmaking?
I tried disabling it in the main menu, but the second I start training, it starts looking for a match again.

Did you press Apply Settings? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I've made that mistake at least three times during this beta.

Fight Request is locked to be on for the beta. Turning it off in the main menu only affects the menus.

Maybe its by design for the beta, i've setted as OFF and pressed apply and when i go to training mode it resets to ON.
Maybe its by design for the beta, so Capcom gets more data.

Hmm. I think the only legit bad matchup Necalli has is Vega. Birdie and Chun bae can be tricky too but once they get knocked down it's not too bad.

You mean without matchmaking? If yes then while using the record feature in the previous betas the game would stop searching for matches, maybe it still works. Choose the char you want for the 2 player side and practice while the game is recording.

Yea, I must've selected that three times to make sure I wasn't going crazy

Well that's unfortunate

I'll give this a shot

Thanks guys!

So GAF , is it acceptable to play one match with with Karin and win , then retire forever a champion ?

:P

Seriously though I loaded up the beta for about 45 minutes earlier , lost 5 matches with Ryu (following gooteks advice, I feel like I've learned all I can from Ryu but I almost never win while using him), had a much closer match using Nash before switching to Karin and stomping some poor laggy Mika.

I'm just torn on what exactly I want to do when the game is out in a few weeks ... try and cycle through the cast properly or just go to Karin and learn things through brute force....

Lucky'nWild - I feel ya man. Losing sucks , but it really does feel pretty good to win. I've found through all these betas I only get a bit salty when I feel like I made one tiny dumb mistake that lead to my loss. Today , every loss I suffered was an earned loss - I was simply outplayed by every opponent and considered it a learning experience.

Kind of off topic, but what version is everyone getting?

Thinking digital since it's easy to turn on and start playing, but I'm digging that collector edition statue

Also it's 18 dollars cheaper to get physical copy for ps4 them digital thanks to Amazon prime deal on physical copies, and its only 80 bucks for collector edition.

If only collector edition came with season pass then it would be a no brainier.
