I can not get this version of the game in to steam as a non steam game. It wouldnt allow me access to the windowsapp folder (Even though it says i own it). I have tried changing permissions but no joy.... Any ideas?

Could you give more info on what you had to do? I get a page that lets me search for build 1511 and I get a whole bunch of updates to download.

I used my Visa Debit card, my usual Australian address, and just added an extra digit to my post code to take it up to five numbers. Worked perfectly; Rise of the Tomb Raider for $13 dollarydoos. I assume I won't be able to expect too much from my 2GB 670, but the new Nvidia cards will probably be out before the game hits this price on Steam so why not?

You need the KB3118754 update.
This update is not applicable to your computer on all 3 of the KB3118754 options. Wtf Microsoft? :<
Fair point. I usually use RTSS to limit the framerate to 60. I hope the game has a decent FPS frame limiter or something
If they don't put some limitatons to región changing and so on, any game they release we'll be able to get it for 10$ on the ukranian store. Right now there are no notable games. In the future Quantum Break I asume.

I just keep trying with different cards, but an error window pops up every time I press the Buy button saying that there was a problem with processing the payment. I just figure I just have to login to the banking site to allow the transaction to go through since it's foreign currency and all. But nope, just a hold for $0.35 on all the cards I've tried from the Microsoft store. Any ideas?
Edit: Only tried the Ukraine store so far. Couldn't even try India because it wouldn't let me even add a credit card for some reason.

I know this is sarcasm, but it isn't true. While it takes a bit of effort, it's definitely possible. This is the way I do it:
- Create a desktop shortcut by dragging the app listing from the start menu/all apps list to the desktop.
- Create a text file, add the path to the previously made shortcut, and save it as .bat
- Convert the bat file to an EXE file.
- Add a non-steam game in the steam application. Point it towards the converted bat file.
- Boom. You now have a working steam shortcut to a Windows Store app/game. Works the same as any other non-steam game.
While this does require you to keep both the EXE and shortcut files on your system to work, it does the job, and doesn't take up any meaningful space.
Just in case anyone wanted to know...
I'm getting 30 fps at 1080p with a mixture of high and medium and the most basic AA with my 670. It fluctuates heavily if I don't cap the refresh rate but now it's smooth. Like you, I'm holding out for the next series to upgrade. I haven't quite reached the base camp yet, which is supposedly where things get demanding.

Is there a way to cap it ingame? Or do you use RTSS? Ingame limiters tend to mess up frametimes. I have a GTX770 and plan to use med/high settings at 1080p/30fps.

Having had no experience with Windows 10 store prior to this, I can't believe how shitty this is. Can't use Shadowplay, can't use MSI Afterburner, can't do shit and can't access the install folder to see if I can fix any of this.
WindowsApps folder is inaccessible and any guides I followed to fix that didn't help. The 'Changing ownership' part never happens.
Seems all this version is good for is actually playing the game. At least this was an inexpensive way to find out if buying games through the Windows Store is a good idea.

That sounds OK; I wasn't expecting much more than Low for everything at 1080p30. Just hope it won't be too difficult to cap the framerate in the W10 version.
Did you change the location of the Windowsapps folder? I'm also unable to change the ownership/security of the newly created folder. BUT, I can still change the ownership of the ORIGINAL folder (c:\program files\windowsapps) and in that folder is a link to the game folder on the new location that I can access without issues.
It is still way too convoluted though, and you can't launch the .exe directly, since it needs to be run "in the context of an app container"...
Ok I figured out my problem, If you've just downloaded Windows 10 to do this, Microsoft won't allow Automatic updates to give you the November build for around a month incase you wanted to go back to a previous version. You need to go to disk cleanup and delete your old operating system files via the advanced options, then Windows update will download the Nov Build and allow you to use the store.
I did that, and now I can download the game from the store.
Btw, this is in English, right? lol. Thanks OP. I probably wouldn't have got the game before this so either way more money for them.

Yeah i have the game installed to the D:. Like you said, on the C: is the original with the EXE but get the same error.

Ugn..I can't seem to get it from the Ukraine store. I click the blue box, and another window opens.
I click on the price of the game in the newly popped up window. I asks for me to sign in using a MS account, like hotmail, msn, etc. I click on it..and then a new window opens..then closes and nothing happens.
EDIT: Same with the Indian store.

Thanks OP. Worked for me. I already bought the XBox One version on launch day - so I don't feel bad for picking up the PC Version for £6.40.

You can switch back without issue. Once you own the game you own the game and can download at your leisure regardless of set region.

Tempting price.......its even lower than in russian windows store. Hopefully MS wont close this since this way they at least can get a reasonable amount of feedback about their awful store design and usability and at least try to fix it. Does this UWP version support true fullscreen mode? I tried Fable Legends Beta and it was fullscreen windowed only... No idea how to add it to steam as well.

from the app description, It may be related to what your experiencing.
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Windows 10 download progress bar does not actually display progress.
- Due to a UI issue download progress may not be accurately displayed (despite downloading without issue).
- When pausing and resuming the download, it mat appear that the download has reset (appears to start from 0). However, actual download progress has not been affected.
It's just windowed full screen, or at least that's how it is on my end.
