Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Speaking of tiers...

I'd have to say that Bison, Vega and Chun Li are strongest right now. Bison is likely my most annoying matchup. The guy seems to be everywhere and nowhere simultaneously. Thank God for players that leave themselves super open. Otherwise I'd never touch him.

Today I figured out how to train in the SFV beta. You set your main to favorite and pick Mika in training mode so you can do her long mic taunt until someone challenges you. Anything else is heresy.

Crossplay is a wonderful thing. All mid to high budget fighters should incorporate the idea.

Oh yeah, she is like every third fight or so. She blows away Rashid and Necalli in terms of popularity. Zangief, Dhalsim and Vega together probably only have a fraction of her appearances in the beta.

I'm somewhat happy. Mirror matches are just my pet peeve. If it weren't for Skullgirls' small roster I would have never gotten used to the concept.

Bizarre ragequit unless he had taken away like half of your health and it started coming back. Still haven't gotten a single ragequit, myself.

Exactly, just risk it all. I got to 1300 LP, but eventually got knocked down to 1055. Gonna see how much I can get back or lose before the beta ends. Win or lose you'll be a better player for it. Get ready for that full SFV experience come Feb 16.
 
Goddamn, I haven't fought many or even used Rashid but he's quicker than a hiccup Jesus.

He seems really safe on most attacks too.
 
What are good air-to-airs with Karin? I feel like I lose most of those if I don't go for j.lk or something.

I also just realised that her V-Skill negates Laura's fireball. Neat.

But I finally got that name in, I'm under Heuristic_Scrub. I won my first match playing as Birdie again, he's just fun to play as. Althought that match was pretty damn laggy as well.

So Zangief V-Trigger...when you're standing it brings you in closer for an amazing mixup, when you're in the air it straight up hits you and even if you cross him up you'll get hit, too?
 
Yea. Ryu is really fun to me right now. Still trying to get out of my SF4 habit of starting stuff with jab. I might switch to Mika as well. My personal problem character right now is Vega. Need to work on that when the game comes out.

I am have been thinking about stubby normals. It really is damn annoying when it is not matching the animation when it looks like it should be hitting. I mean, if they all had actual stubby limbs, that would be fine, haha.
 
You know folks, I really enjoyed the few games I got to play in this beta. I have a 360 TE2 arcade stick, but since our crew gathers in ps4 first and foremost, I played Karin with a simple controller. And aside from normal config being completely useless for V-trigger activation ( i guess if remapped rb+lb instead of lb+lt, it will work), all combos and moves are easily doable on controller as well. So I am glad.

Still, I cant decide what to do. On one hand, preorder Cammy... elegance, beauty - on the other hand, Chun Li's preorder on steam... damn. But I just want to play the game, not have a constant semi-boner, I guess, so I shall survive the lack of that costume.

Gamestop has a little hidden deal right now where if you preorder SFV, you can get the season pass for half off when you pick it up. Was going to wait and see if I could earn the characters with fight money, but 15 bucks is too good to pass up.
 
Oh wow, Necalli's mk, hk, vskill, vtrigger and delayed Super recaptures and gets the full animation. Looks so slick.
 
Just jumped in for a bit with Dictator and been having a blast. The last time I played him was in the first beta and the changes to him have been excellent. Wanted to mess around with some others before the beta ends. Any good Laura stuff out there?

That is pretty good though I already paid for the PC version =\ I see GMG has it for $24 using the 20% off code

It's not half off, it's just half off what it would cost if you bought everything individually which is 60.

If it doesn't matter where you pre-order then just got with who you plan on using more (I.e. Chun or Cammy)
 
Finally made it to 2,000+ with Mika. And this is where I stop playing her, or the beta altogether. More about the milestone than wanting to keep the points intact, but I've been spending more time than I should with this.

At least I can tell I'm improving, bit by bit.
 
i dunno why ken is so hard to play against in this game lol. he hard to punish like light and hard Tatsu and some DP's some time cuzz is not where i think he is when he lands
 
No one blocks low after activating v-trigger. 100%

I always get a c.MK into rekka after canceling a blocked v-skill intro v-trigger.
