had a fun time with the beta this weeken and ready for the game to come out. topped out at 1600lp which is not bad for me and need to really work on my defence and using alpha counters geting out of the corner. but got better hit confirming in to CA with nash. im really liking the game alot and it just suits me better then sf4.
 
Disconnected. Thinking I might go Chun to start off with. The removal of piano inputs which I could never get right really opened up the character for me.

Plus that preorder costume

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Plus, I can add Karin to the list of characters I actually have some basic idea on how to play.

So, yeah. Looking forward to the final release. Do you think it's safe to uninstall the beta now, or should I keep it around just in case they need a final stress test with FANG?
 
Damn, kind of an anticlimactic way to go out for me. Got a series of teleporting shitfests right at the end. That 3-5 bar setting helps, but it definitely doesn't filter out potato modems.

Oh well. XCOM this week, then SFV just over a week from there. Wood League, here I come!
 
Really happy Capcom did all these beta tests. It proves a working system is in place and we already have online impressions. Your move Namco.
 
Does anyone know a good Mika player? I know Gootecks was messing with her, but I don't know he's sticking with her. I need to pick up some tech.
 
Man what a bummer, I just got home and thought I would have some time to get some matches in. Oh well, the beta was super fun. Can't wait for the 16th!
 
Won my last two before server maintenance. I'm happy. I need to spend so much time in proper training mode on release. Get a feel for every character.
 
WOOO yea thats enough SF until it's release. Had my fill of instant transmission using Ken's and Mika's until release.

Necalli I'm just writing off as too strong without much to it. All of his moves are instant, if he has meter he can dp you the second you move. Him having literally a super saiyan button with 0 drawbacks isn't fair. But the two characters I hate the most are dhalsim and ken . Ken is a combo character in a game with low combos, him having 1/3 meter and he can just target combo into tatsu is 30% of your health, 40% if he exes anytime. it causes a knockdown and corners you cause hes spinning for the length of the fucking screen and then he can do mix ups and the dudes recovery time is 0, him and cammy are 1:1 ports of their SFIV selfs but cammy can be managed. I like charlie a lot but he has no reversals, but sim and vega dont either but they have way more tools than charlie. Tackle is just such a bad move, startup and recovery is 10 years and has no invincibility frames at all, can't even go through fireballs, just have to risk using the android hand absorption thing but if their mid screen they'll recover and punish you.

If someone runs at charlie whats he gonna do? Block? Teleport? Mp into scythe only does so much. If they just sit and block and dp you cant win. Mika i have no clue what she does, its like fighting King from Tekken, she flipped me and I landed on my feet or something and she reset the combo and kept going. But ken and sim I feel 100% powerless against. I havent fought a single chun, birdie, bison, or rashid. Sim is just fireball arcs and he normals through them and then teleports and then gg. You're in a corner? The ground is now lava, don't jump either cause theres a fireball or a fist waiting for you up there. I feel like Fang might be a stronger version of sim which is why we still can't play him or something with just poison ball spam.
 
Managed to haggle my way to only ~2600 LP :/
I wish I would have used Birdie from the beginning, life would have been a lot easier.
My attempts at learning Mika were uh....they were something else.

Right there with you. Didn't really care about SF5 -> R. Mika announcement video and early match footage of her gets me really hyped to play her -> Finally get to play Mika in beta 2 -> Don't like playing Mika nearly as much as I expected to -> Beta 3 starts without Mika available, so I am forced to try out Birdie -> Fall head over heels in love with Birdie and get super excited to play SF5 after a ~12 year retirement from competitive Street Fighter.
 
At least knowing that once it drops you can play it whenever you'd like and you don't have to squeeze in matches all day like the world is gonna end tomorrow.

Yeah I've played almost nonstop throughout all 4 phases.

What I'm looking forward to the most though is being able to sit in training mode for as long as I want without getting thrown into a match every 5 seconds.

I know, but I figured, "ok I can't be that 1-dimentional" so I'm trying to use s.lk, st.mk st.mp, and of course any chance i get to land a HP because good things happen after that with Ken.

st.mk is actually pretty good, a nice frame trap if you whiff, it knocks people out of the air if they are trying to jump, and of course you can hit confirm the second hit into nice damage. But yeah, as far as safely applying pressure and being able to seamlessly move in and out of defense, c.mp is Ken's BUTTON. OMG, one match I literally just blocked, c.mp, and dash back n'forth with different variations of the same button mixed with lights. Super, solid button!

I hope he gets a little boost in 2 weeks, but can't wait to get my hands back on Ken. I heard Momochi canceled his step kick into V-trigger-SRK-Super -_- and after sweep, you can do a RH for timing, then a mk Tatsu that will cross up/juggle and you follow up with a HP.DP -_-

Guys, let me see these things during the beta next time!! lol...I can't wait 2 weeks man, I needz MOAR
 
DIdn't play too much during this beta, 2 hours maybe? Toward the end I decided to switch from Laura to Ken to try him out. Didn't find him bad at all, just I have 0 muscle memory to capitalize on hits. Many times I'd end rounds with full super and vtrigger bar.

No it doesn't. They did a beta for Tekken 7 & then released the game. In 2 weeks they are doing a beta for FR. Heck you could count the entirety of Tekken 7 as a beta for FR. What you are saying makes no sense.

Tekken Tag 2 was great online. They don't need to do a beta since their netcode works so well IMO.

Capcom had a lot more to deal with so it made sense to do these. An all new netcode plus cross-platform play is pretty intense.
