Necalli in normal mode survival is who screws me up the most. Happened 2-3 times now and I'm damn tired of trying. I know they are easy to beat but sometimes they just go HAM on you like pros. Sometimes they fall for the most stupid shite....

Just can't find any matches at the moment, been waiting for a solid hour. Infuriating.

Yeap couldn't find matches all day except in the early morning, don't know what gives.
Played against a friend and he used Dhalsim, it was my first match against that hot guy. Got bodied and dumpstered so hard. Then he switch to random fighter and was able to take a few matches.
After an hour of playing we return to where we began, I was able to take a round and there were few close ones. I learned how to better deal with the zoning. It was really fun and felt as I improved.

Survival = Dragon Punch

Ez money.

Same.

I also lost to Necalli on Hell at like 83 or something...guy ends up going apeshit.

Well I beat the "Story" mode tonight and I did Survival on Easy with Ryu (and that took three tries). I need to get my mechanics down, I'm learning as I go though. As for who I'd consider maining, I did best with the following in Story mode

Birdie
R. Mika
Dhalsim
Rashid
Zangief

I guess but ranked shouldn't work that way. Hence the ranking. You should be facing similar skill levels not people way above you

I have mixed results. My Mika is currently around 1200 LP and I fight people either higher than me or lower than me. If it helps, my win ratio is positive by about maybe 15 or 20 fights. I'm a very average player but I do fight low ranks sometimes.

Yeah Dhalsim can be notoriously frustrating to play against. I was just watching TS-Sabin's stream and nope, don't want anything to do with that shit.

I have also observed that the ranked matchmaking is not considering rank.

I am bronze but get matched with rookies and silvers.

They need to fix this shit asap, as having the newbies get destroyed by higher ranks only makes them give up on the game. Leagues must work in a way the skill level separates players and everyone can win some matches on their leagues.

Capcom only applied league to rank matches? Casual matches might be obsolete to new players right after Evo or the CPT if so.

I bought a Titan One so I can play KI with my PS4 stick. I've tried using a PS3 stick on PS4 with the Titan One and it works, but runs into some weird verification thing every 10 minutes where I have to unplug/plug in.

Cronus max has a way to bypass that, you get a Hub and plug both the fight stick and DS4 into it and that goes into the Cronus max. no more disconnects but controller clutter.

im using a Mayflash Universal Adapter to get my Xbox 360 stick working no authentication needed. the PS4 recognizes it at a legacy stick. seems to work good enough, still testing for sure before i yell joy

i uploaded a video on you tube setting it up and working if you wanna check it out

I'm at 0LP and am getting consistently matched with people anywhere from 1200-2000lp. I'm cool with getting bodied a little bit not for almost 40 matches straight

As a rookie with 65LP I was matched with a silver Ryu...wtf, not even close

I haven't had much time to play since the servers became playable, but I climbed about 350 LP yesterday to low Bronze. One of the things I noticed was that a lot of the players I beat were ranked a lot higher than me and some of those I had little trouble with (Especially the guy ranked 2050 who pulled after I beat him but that's pretty obvious that's how he got so high).

Anyway the point is that people aren't even close to the league they belong in yet, everyone is bunched up near the bottom so don't sweat it if you get placed vs.someone a lot higher than you. Plus you might smack them down anyway and you get more LP for winning against them and lose less if you do lose.

That feeling of a three win streak after getting completely bodied...love street fighter

Win streak is nothing in this game. There's a rage quit glitch that makes people keep their streak. My friend is near pro level in Sf and he fought a ryu with 34 wins that couldn't even do shite to him. I I'm not a sore loser that will use the glitch but you will see what I mean at higher levels. Already got the streak trophies anyway.

Is matchmaking running pretty slowly for others right now or is it just me?

Yeah it's pretty slow. I finally have a little window to try to play some matches but I'm spending more time waiting than playing. It's nowhere near as quick as it was in the last couple betas I got to play. I'm not surprised though. When I saw Capcom actually use the phrase "working as intended" I knew something would be wrong.

They really need to allow for prioritizing rank over region in the search settings. I'm still getting matched up with rookies and bronze as a silver, and tbh I'm getting super fucking bored. I also doubt the new players I'm beating are enjoying themselves much either.

ok, ordered a HRAP4. cheaper than Mad Catz and has a bunch of good reviews on Amazon. should be good for now. hope they get some more in stock soon.

My old PS3 stick is broken so it's not like it matters much atm, but I'll keep this in mind if I get a new non PS4 stick for cheap. Thanks for the tip/link.

Dammit! Just DC'd from our lounge, Spaniard. Some good sets, too.

Those were fun! I need to learn some good damage setups, anytime I had an opening I was doing minimal damage. Your execution was really good! Im a Ryu player but Rashid seems to have a lot of potential.

Some Gamestops are actually stocking these. I was shocked to see 2 on the shelves today here by me.

So what's a good strategy to avoid grapples?

They usually dont have great anti air, so you can escape that way, get good with dashing gtfo and learn which of your normal buttons has the best mix of speed and range so you can poke them out of grab range.

Man, some of the Bengus story mode art is so insanely bad for how good he can draw. He must have drawn it all in a couple days, I swear.

The way he distorts Laura's anatomy, especially her disturbing snake waste in her final drawing with Geif, he must be ashamed that it's the final product.

So what's a good strategy to avoid grapples?

A lot of it is just the mental game since grapplers try to notice patterns players do. The main thing is neutral jumping, but if they keep seeing that they'll start to punish it and make you afraid to jump, then they'll start to throw you and get momentum. Alternatively staying at a range that favors you more and forces them to be risky to get in.

Zoning is always the best if it's an option though. Since you can try to frustrate them and block them from getting anything going.

Don't care about others win streaks, just my own...coming back with 3-4 wins after a tough loss makes me appreciate the game and the learning that occurs

Is Laura a bad matchup for Necalli? I can't seem to do much, especially when she does a blockstring into dash into grab.
