Nintendo Direct: new presentation announced for tomorrow

Hopefully they show a little bit of the upcoming new Zelda. It's okay if they do the blowout at E3 but we deserve a fucking trailer for that game. We waited nearly 2 years and got nothing. It's really idiotic they don't show that game...
I think they will wait until E3 or the NX reveal event (if there is one) to finally show a trailer and announce the title. Though I would love to be wrong and have them show a trailer or footage today.

Wait... I though Yoshi's Woolly World was very well-received, way better than Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush. In fact, it's probably the best Yoshi game since the SNES one.

Also, I don't know why you've mentioned Kirby's Epic Yarn. It's a Wii game, it's amazing and I will be down for an HD remaster sometimes in the future. (But first, Wario Land: The Shake Dimension HD.)

Yoshi's Woolly World got a lot of 7's and 8's. And I agree it's the best Yoshi game since the original but that's not saying much when you look at the history of the series.

Is it just me or the hype for today's Direct is pretty low compared to previous pre-Direct threads on GAF? : /

I'm at work, and I'll be without internet connection until the Direct will start, so no hype train posts for me :p
Plus, the supposed reliable leak didn't have any Wii U megaton so people is not that hot also for that.

I think I'm looking too hard at your post, I assumed the question was sarcastic and that I was an idiot for expecting anything good in a sequel lol (I really need to stop assuming sarcasm and insults)

I'd of course want a refresh for the playerbase when the original Splatoon eventually dies, returning and new stages, maybe expand on ideas in the singleplayer a bit. New weapons/subs? Standard stuff for a sequel I guess...

And, as I did mention in my other post, playable Octolings and more tentacle-styles :P (Gimme a cute braid or something :0000)

Pretty much sums up how I feel. No last minute Wii U megaton = tears of disappointment. I'm not gonna scream in excitement if Pikmin 4 gets announced for Wii U today either. I liked Pikmin 3 but its in the same boat as Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.... Not exactly exciting but fun in its own way.

Just no.

To be fair, nintendo has trained us to expect that by having full bc the last two gens.

Most people don't really care about BC, they want remastered.

If many Wii U games get pushed to NX then I will definitely feel this way.

Xenoblade Chronicles X has a good chance of being ported to NX.

Smash 4 getting ported has a very high chance of being a NX launch game.

Heck, even Splatoon might get a port for NX before the inevitable sequel's release.

Zelda Wii U being pushed to NX as a launch game can also happen.

Even a more complete edition of Pokken Fighters for NX can happen.
I don't see the problem really, it's like HD remasters, it's not like it would've been better to sit with PS2 and Xbox and don't bother with PS3 and 360 just because Last of Us, Uncharted 123, Halo 1234, etc are now available in higher resolution and framerates on PS4 and XB1.
I mean how fun is it to wait several years to play the games other people can play right now? :/

Ask yourself, if Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft would announce that today they will show off summergames, with other words games released within the next 5 months, would you expect megatons?

Eh. I think anyone actually expecting another AAA Wii U game that hasn't already been announced is deluding themselves. Focus clearly shifted to the NX over a year ago. Another game or two might get announced (like Paper Mario) but it is not going to be anything big.

NA direct is more likely to have #FE by virtue of NOA loving Fire Emblem and their flexibility to sometimes release games in one language, as with XCX, though in that case French and Spanish were later patched in. Yokai Watch was the same for at least French.

Something has to give or the NA Direct will be shorter without Fates or Yokai Watch.

The software isn't the problem. The system itself is the main issue, as it was like poison for both the casual & hardcore audiences.

What does this even mean?

Poison? Is it a poison for your entertainment center to be there? Get rid of it if it's poison. I wouldn't want something infecting my entertainment center and the other consoles/devices around it.

Stop with the hyperbole.

I always get excited. You can't stop the hype!

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Party is quite the poison.

Uhm, I don't.
But I'm not on the non-hype train.
I simply cannot follow properly the topic and the Direct because of the time table :D
I'd say that the confirmation of MHX for EU within summer would be enough for me to value the Direct as a good one.
Not a megaton one, but I'm not expecting neither Pikmin 4 nor Paper Mario to be announced 2 months before E3; obviously no NX news before a dedicated event or the E3, and so on.
So my expactations are on spot.

WiiU was a system of compromises. Saddling the line between old school "only meant to play games" and modern digitally connected and online system.

- OS was broken at launch
- downloads and installs were painfully slow
- Storage was a constant issue
- USB ports were low power causing some devices to need a Y-cable (expanded storage)
- Digital purchases were credited to the console and not to an account (has since been fixed?)
- No built in modern features and apps (Voice/Party Chat, Cloud Saves etc..)
- No Ethernet jack

This is just a small list... There are many more compromises WiiU owners were forced to endure with various software titles as well.

This is what a 350 dollar console was worth? Not in the eyes of the public and gaming community

I will definitely scream of excitement if Pikmin 4 is announced, and it has at least as good multiplayer support as Pikmin 3. Online multiplayer battles in Pikmin 4 would be awesome.

It was more meant to underline your point, not to disagree^^

It'll be quite significant.

There's a lot speculation in the Zelda community that the subtitle might be linked to the book Link's been carrying around in the teasers. I hope it's some type of grimoire.

"The Legend of Zelda: Grimoire of the _______" or "The _______ Grimoire" would be neat.

Who knows!

I'd rather have Pikmin 4 than Sticker Star HD, but it seems unlikely. All of thode leakers seemed certain Paper Mario Wii U was a thing, while Trev says there's only 1 more unannounced (major/physical I presume) Wii U release.

Expect what they announced, details about summer games. Than you will be fine.

Honestly I think that's the only way to go realistically into this, since it's announced point blank in the OP...unless Nintendo somehow makes things worse. :p
Hype will pick up closer to the Direct. I expect the thread to crack its 100 pages around then.

The Legend of Zelda: Grimoire of Delays.
