At least two of those people were attractive. The one girl (the "best at physics"? one?) was basically just the attractive one in the trailer.

You understand what not classically beautiful means right?

It doesn’t mean they're ugly.

Also lol at you reducing a character to "the pretty one"

Also they're women not girls.

All reboots of 80s movies franchises are shit, at least initially (Force Awakens is an exception, but the prequel trilogy definitely follows this rule).

If they remade Charlie's Angel to be 4 dudes. Yeah that would be retarded, but they could do it, but I would care more about if it was fun or not.

Dude, I want that now! Sounds amazing.

I liked the trailer, it seems safe and cute but I'm willing to bet that its only the trailer made that way.

Not particularly. I remember a thread about some fan who was trying to boycott it...?

I mean, I have no nostalgia for the old movies. I caught them on IFC a few weeks ago and I thought they were alright.

This just looks like a slightly better Goosebumps/Pixels. Like, I'll watch it on Netflix but I probably wouldn't pay for it

Holy crap! I was sitting here trying to think what this movie reminded me of, especially some of the later scenes with all the CGI ghosts in Times Square and the team fighting them off, and you totally nailed it; this movie reminds me of Pixels! Yeah, this movie is not doing it for me at all. I'll always have the OG Ghostbusters though.

Twitter is an absolute dumpster fire right now.

It's either idiots knocking the movie based on the cast or people falling over themselves declaring this to be the greatest achievement in the history of cinema.

I wasn't talking about the classically beautiful part!

What part were you talking about then? The only reference to looks is the classically beautiful line.

You know I love that someone posts a positive message of excitement from a female fan and immediately people rush in to shit on it.

Based on that trailer, it looks like at least one of them is there to be the attractive one.

And it's kind of a ridiculous statement haha. Even if it wasn't, I would guess everyone is replying to it because it's in bold. And then they read it.

So, let me get this straight. You're going to ignore the significance of a female-led cast of a major Hollywood reboot in order to spite a girl for feeling empowered?

If it empowers her great, but lets not get carried away with its significance. How is this movie groundbreaking?

Looks cool. I don't care much about Ghostbusters, but the theme song always gets me going for some reason.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Yeah! Like one is the leader, one is the goofy one, one is the attractive one, and one is the outsider. They all have their roles.

Again what?

You talk like Megan Fox is in this.

Each of them have a field of expertise that allows them to do their jobs. None of them are there to be the pretty one.

I thumbs downed the video, am I a "Gamergater"?
Did you accidentally thumbs down it, because you were about to thumbs up it for being the most inspiring film of the generation before your hand slipped?

Alright, but like this isn't a documentary. People wrote this story based around certain character roles. They can then tack on whatever nonsense ghost-fighting qualifications to justify them being there.

Lol point me to the one that's just there to be hot.

You're going to have a hard time claiming that Kristen Wiig isn't classically beautiful unless you're making a claim about the outfits in this specific film.

It's weird that you seem to think attractive is a bad thing. If the character is solid, the looks shouldn't matter.

Ghostbusters has an outrageously badass theme song, that's why. Every once in a long while it comes on over the radio at my office and I just stop whatever I'm doing and groove as quietly as possible in my cubicle.

Bustin' makes you feel good.

Same! I was born some time after Ghostbusters, but I was given all the toys at a very young age by my older cousin. I LOVED the toys, and movies growing up.

So, despite the trailer not being that great, I'm in full nostalgia hype overload mode.

As someone whose Top 3 has always included Ghostbusters AND as someone about to throw down nearly $400 for a Lego replica of the Firehouse, I still can't understand why nostalgia would get you super-hyped for this.

Different strokes I suppose.

So you don't know what not classically beautiful is either.

It doesn't mean not attractive.

Kristen Wiig is attractive but she's certainly not conventionally so and certainly not in this movie

Christ can we stop this? Please for the love of god, can we be reasonable and civil about discussing our opinions of the movie without resorting to this?

There is absolutely a subsection of those down votes coming from sexist morons.

That's been clear since this movie was announced.

I didn't like the trailer, I didn't dislike the trailer. I think I need a second one to confirm how I feel.

That being said- I think I like Wiig when she's a little restricted and quieter (this might be a poor choice of words), like she is in the trailer. There's a quality about what I saw that I really really liked. Is she like that in anything else?
