The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd coming west for PC in 2017

Wow, XSEED caters to Trails fans, yet at the same time, screws over the portable market entirely. Way to be a dick. As long as this game is PC only, they will not see another dime from me. I was going to preorder Cold Steel II, but not anymore. I'm actually considering cancelling my Estival Versus preorder because of this bullshit. Because that's exactly what it is. Bullshit.

I think it's much more likely because of Falcom not wanting to work on PSP anymore.

XSEED has been public in the past if Sony has some sort of restriction on what they're allowed and not allowed to do.

However if it's from Falcom's end, XSEED must stay quiet; they're literally a contractor to them, after all.

This is the fair reaction of a handheld fan.

I get that's it's unfortunate that it's just not viable to bring it out for PSP and people have to switch platforms, but anyone with any understanding of the difficulties this series has faced has to be relieved it is coming at all.

Boycotting this because it's not on PSP is petty, spiteful, and ultimately hurtful the the future of an excellent series that these people claim to enjoy.

Yeah I get the disappointment but its not their fault. It could pave the way for the other portable editions someday maybe kinda?

Blame Falcom for contracting work out and signing contracts

Steam sales made me kinda scared. Those numbers didn't seem enough for SC, considering how long it took to be translated.

FC didn't meet expectations out the gate (apparently it sold about in line with most smaller-tier PSP RPGs though) but had a decent tail.

But yeah, I think they did say that Steam sales for FC were a factor in an interview, but I forgot which one. Right now the Steam sales for FC seem to make up roughly half of the Trails series total English sales.

I mean...I have zero urge to play a game in front of my PC for 60+ hours, why should I buy it?
 
Eh. I appreciate that they're localising the game, but I don't enjoy playing games on the PC and try to stay out of that ecosystem as much as possible.

I've bought Trails in the Sky SC and Trails of Cold Steel on Vita and PS3 respectively, so I'm good on Legend of Heroes games for a while, which is good since I apparently won't be playing this.

Not complaining at all. Sometimes games don't come out on platforms I like to play on, so I don't play them. Same reason I've not played any Xbox exclusive games. Enjoy the game, PC people.
 
For those disappointed in a lack of PSP release, there's always another option to try.

PC and PSP(well Vita), one is a home device the other is a handheld, can you understand that they are so different to not be interchangeable for some people right? It's not "some console vs pc" or "i want everything on a single hardware" bullshit, it's just that people want or are used to play games on a handheld, being localized only on pc(or any other home hardware) is almost like not being localized at all.

PSP I can understand since it's basically dead, but then why would the Vita version be a no go if it's on Falcom's end?

this game exists on PSP, it's ok to be upset about it not coming over.

But It's also understandable, getting the game at all is a miracle.

The PSP release didn't make the October or November top 10 sales on PSN for EU, not sure about NA because the NA blog only lists a "Vita" top 10 whereas the EU blog specifies it's a "PSP/Vita" top 10. The fact that we are getting The 3rd is already probably top 5 or fewer most unlikely localisations of all time which is why people complaining we're not getting a PSP release on top of that is incredibly baffling to me. I don't consider the SC sales on PC three months after release as a "bomb" yet. Almost all people who finished FC (going by the Steam achievement) bought SC.

Day one. I finished recently, but holyshit I am happy to replay this in english.

Now, the english version will be based on the PC version ? Or in the PSP version ?

I am wondering what they will do in regards of a certain door in 3rd. Hope they will keep it intact.
 
Omg it is actually happening! Disappointed with no psp version, but I completely understand why.

Im so freaking happy xseed was able to bring the entire trilogy over..... soooo happy.

Chara-Ani in particular is notorious for being protective of their voice actors - in that sense, XSEED would need to do a full dub of the entire game and not provide Japanese voices at all. This is, of course, assuming they managed to negotiate with both Kadokawa and Falcom first, which is time and money.

I'd play Trails in the Sky FC on my W10 tablet with my iPega controller, but last time I tried to boot the game, I had to completely restore the OS...
