I would continue playing my PS4 until it gives up and probably move to Nintendo/PC.So for the people who feel this is bullshit, what would you do if it turns out not to be bullshit?
That and Phil Spencer indicating it multiple times. This seems to lend a bit of legitimacy to the speculation that there will be a more powerful Xbox One.1 coming out this fall...
We don't know how much cheaper, though. If they're aiming for 4K, it won't be cheaper at all. If they can keep it at current price? Sure, whatever. But we don't even have the next generation of video cards in the PC space available at consumer-prices yet.
As for the all in one package... I mean, a PC is too. Plus I'd argue that they're arguably easier to set up for a consumer compared to current-gen consoles. You can buy a whole gaming PC for $1000 and not have to set anything up. Just plug it all in.
I dunno, it all comes down to price for me.
2x resolution = 4x more pixels.Uh. Isn't 4K called 4K because it has 4 times the amount of pixels as 1080p, not twice.
I mean, let's be honest. Both the PS4 and Xbox One are severely underpowered in today's market. It needs help to stay consistent and feel cutting edge in any form or fashion. The unfortunate side effect is...why wouldn't someone just go PC at that point?

Yeah that's not the issue most people have...
I buy into consoles because I don't want to keep upgrading.
Now i feel I have no choice to enjoy the games
In the way they're intended to be.

PS4K is a beast.
Switch to PC for good.
And I wouldn't be too upset about it. Well, maybe a little, since I've been a console gamer since I was a wee lad, but it's just how the industry is now.
Jesus first Xbox doing an incremental update and now Sony too? I regret jumping into this gen early with PS4 and Xb1 if true.
Should have stuck to PC and Nintendo.
Honestly...I think MS and Sony both seem to have an idea of where they are going...I mean they might not need a new console for this....Look at this:

Its an external GPU that connects to a laptop providing extra power. When Phil Spencer first mentioned this...this is what I thought of rather than a completely new box.
The industry is about to get very interesting and change if either Sony or MS followup.
Lmao still gets me
Agreed.
Then again, this could release 2017 or 2018 and still be in that cycle.
This more than likely will be the PS5, being that it is a shared ecosystem now with the OS and x86, it allows for smoother hardware cycles with no more 'square one' machines, and they are calling it the '4.5' right now.
I have an idea for the name
How about "New PS4"
Sounds like bullshit to me. Especially since Sony has been pushing the concept of every PS4 being the same as a major selling point to developers for PSVR at GDC

Incremental Xbox models
Every other year PS4 upgrades
Alternating years of NX handheld/NX console models
WELCOME TO THE NEW REALITY
Guys the minimum requirements for games are gonna be the current ps4 specs...
Sony isnt THAT stupid. My guess you'll just have gfx options, or it detects the more powerful ps4 it'll automatically max out the gfx options
My wallet is certainly not ready.Incremental Xbox models
Every other year PS4 upgrades
Alternating years of NX handheld/NX console models
WELCOME TO THE NEW REALITY
As long as the original one still plays the same games, that's fine.
I don't have a 4K TV, so this means jack shit to me.
