NX Controller Rumor [Up5: Original was fake, and thus this is too]

I like how this is representative of how Nintendo misses the point of some big events in technology.

Nintendo guy 1: "people sure do seem to be playing a lot of games on cell phones."
Nintendo guy 2: " I wonder why?"
Nintendo guy 1: "Buttons! they must hate buttons!"
Nintendo guy 2: "I bet they like obscuring their viewing area with their hands."
Nintendo guy 1: "I have a cunning plan about how to turn our consoles around!"

More proof of leak source?

I'm 100% certain there are some people wading through photos from inside Massive, looking for this exact coffee mug, like right now

I like the idea of this oval slotting into various controller bases. Imagine if one base was a clamshell of sorts for taking it on the go

That looks uncomfortable at best. Hopefully they add some handles or something to the final design. That and anytime you drop it, the screen is 50% likely to break.

I can't believe real-life errands kept me from knowing about this thread until now, damn it. Seems like many are believing it's real, but I'll reserve judgment. I can't imagine Nintendo's too happy about this, though.

Have I got an exciting night of reading ahead of me!

that's all it was

Hm, now it's been deleted it raises a few questions.

Cause either

1. It's fake and he was laughing at the thread.
2. It's real and he was helping confirm that for goodness knows what reason.

If it's number 2, he could have some punishment, which lead me to believe it was case 1.

I don't like the idea of no face buttons, incredible haptics or not. That said, when it comes to controls - the actual performance & handling - I have complete confidence that Nintendo will deliver, ragardless of the final form. The company is way too gameplay focused to have the design of all their games compromised by the lack of face buttons. It's obviously a prototype, so I'm sure they'll be testing the heck of that thing until their internal teams are at least 'comfortable' with the final design.
In the event that nothing changes, Nintendo will likely just fall back on backward compatibility - for any genres(fighting) that may present a problem - or even something unexpected like a removable capacitive face button plate. I guess we'll see.

What I'm more anxious/hopeful to hear is that they actual implemented their supplemental computing device patent, with the idea of boosting hardware performance locally(and in some unique in-game cases, remotely). Now that would make for some interesting hardware!

I don't think that is actually reasonable.
