I seriously love all of these but with EvilLore's post I don't wanna throw any shade on rift... yet... lol

Yeah, I know. You'll have to trust that I meant no harm. :)

I don't think that my last one is bad at all though. It reminds me of how I've been waiting for this for pretty much all my life. I know that that is said a lot for a lot of things but in this case it's actually true for most of us gamers. It really feels like a new era. I never thought I'd get to experience it in my lifetime but... my time is finally here lol. :)

But keep em coming guys!

HTC Vive |OT| You realize, Dr. Angelo, that my intelligence has surpassed yours

And then in the OP link to this everywhere you possibly can. Sprinkle extra quotes throughout the OP like "By the year 2001, there won't be a person on this planet who isn't hooked into it, and hooked into me." and "CyberChrist."

Fail...they told me there was a problem with my payment I am guessing my CC doesn't like the charge. Probably extending my wait time by at least 1 day!

So somehow my order doubled the quantity and I'm getting two vives for the price of one! I'm willing to give one away since I didn't pay for it, private message me if you're interested and I'll pick a winner randomly. Good luck!

Bro, I literally just built one of these last weekend using these plans and it was really easy. Just modify the measurements a bit for the size of your bed.

http://www.ana-white.com/2010/03/plans-a-murphy-bed-you-can-build-and-afford-to-build.html

Mine looks just like this one but for a queen bed so longer and shorter as I have mine running lengthwise with the horizon.

I now have double the space!

Well damn, I can actually do this. Cost of materials + tool rental? That's cheap enough. I forsee a quick summer project.

EDIT: screw that, I can make time to do this within a few weeks.

Idk I personally like the ham title... lol and find me gif of said fellow and its in!
I'll make the gif. Not a problem.

Also for more ham titles, one could always use some sort of Moses after his first experience with the burning bush reference. After all, those of us who have actually experienced VR are the ones tasked with taking the new gospel to the masses.

If you are serious about it just let me know if you need any help! The only tools you should need are a tape measure, a ruler or straight edge equivalent, a pair of saw horses or something to work on, a square (if you are really anal about angles), a table saw, a circular saw (you can use this in place of a table saw if you are a steady cut), a drill cordless or not for both pre drilling and sinking the screws, a chisel (for making the hinges flush if you need to) and a hammer. IF you have a cement wall like me, since mine is in a basement, you will need a hammer drill for like a couple minutes if that for drilling the anchor holes.

It took me three days and it was totally worth it! Feels real good to get it done.

Horror in VR is basically the only thing I can recognize as a perfect fit and at the same time have no intention of ever trying :P

I had a hard enough time with the low-poly spider in the Don't Let Go demo.
(will try with supervision, lol)

I'm in the MAY block of shipments but I just got my charge confirmation so... hah.. guess that happens quicker than I thought. Such a tease though, boy I can't wait.

Yeah, I kind of wonder how many folks who have never used VR and are serious "horror" game fans are going to jump into VR and find that maybe it isn't what they signed up for, haha. At least in first person, VR can make you way more uncomfortable than you might expect. Even stuff that would be totally boring on a screen like the gargoyles in Dreadhalls are really stressful. Fuck I find Windlands stressful sometimes and need a break, and that game looks like Wind Waker. I don't even really want to imagine something that had the time to produce detailed environments and really grotesque kind of monsters (like a Dark Souls aesthetic or something) that's actually trying to stress you out.

At 1.20 he is double clicking the button to switch to room view with the forward camera. Is that something you can do anytime or a brookhaven experiment feature?

Pretty sure thats a steamvr feature. I've seen people do that with other games and even just in the steam app.

Is it possible to adjust how soon the red box comes on? That seems kind of annoying but I understand why its needed. It looked to me like he had plenty of room before coming into contact with any walls around him but that box was almost constantly coming on.

Yes, it's a system level feature. (And it seems like it would be very useful as such both for safety and for convenience)

In before someone codes their own "convenience key" for the front camera view and splices in their horror character at random points :P

(hopefully that can't be done, ha)

I played Alien: Isolation on a DK2 at the Oculus booth during E3 a while back.

Yes it was a bit janky and prototype-y, but it was amazing.

I wish they shipped their VR support officially.

Well, it's done. Just cancelled my Rift. I am sad that I won't get to play Chronos, but at this point, a single game isn't worth $600.

I am so glad I woke up early and pre-ordered the Vive right as orders went live. Originally, I was planning on skipping the Vive and getting Oculus only this generation, but figured what the hell, I'll order both and decide later since neither charges until they ship. After the last few months of previews, and learning more about the strengths and weaknesses of both headsets, I am happy with the choice I've made. My credit card was charged yesterday, so it should arrive in 4 days barring any complications.

It sounds strange but I am honestly more eager to try stuff like Tilt Brush and Realities.io more than anything. Traditional game pad gaming doesn't excite me as much as it used to when I was younger.

If Touch turns out to be amazing, and there is a bunch of compelling software, I might pick up a bundle down the line. Though will most likely wait for CV2 and enjoy the plethora of stuff that will release for the Vive in the next few years.

Brookhaven: The Scariest VR Experiment.

I think it's better to start at the outtakes (15:30) and then watch the beginning.

You know, I have absolutely no interest in watching people play traditional games and seeing their reactions. Even when they are emotional, it often seems forced. In VR though... So long as they're not like Mr. McShouty in that one Budget Cuts video, I find watching people play to be generally rather amusing. For all the humanity that VR is supposed to strip with the huge headset strapped on, I find the people infinitely more human during their VR play sessions than any standard gaming streams. You might not see their eyes, but the body language more than makes up for it.

This is one of the best days of my life. Windlands is such a blast with the Vive.

I understand why some people marry objects. I would marry the Vive if I could.

I had to rip the Vive off my head at one point in this game. It really shows how you'd actually react to a real zombies in an apocalypse.

I ordered on the 31'st It's odd that my order has already posted to my bank account even though it shouldn't ship until May.

That's really quite odd. Nothing here and ordered back on the 8th. I give up understanding how the orders are being processed. Voodoo of some sorts I'm guessing lol.

ffs. So this morning I wake up to an email sent at 1:42am saying there was a problem with payment. I didn't get a warning from the bank, and I spoke to them yesterday so they said it should go through fine. My only thought is that HTC didn't actually retry, they just sent this email out to anybody that had a problem yesterday.

So now I have to contact them so they can retry - but if they'd retried last night it would have worked. now I've probably lost two days??

Also they say 'hey you can change to paypal if you want'. But how? The order details don't have any edit buttons or change payments. And of course their online chat isn't responding and they don't give us crazy Europeans a phone number to call.

lol. This was already a likely no, but that has cemented it.

I'm guessing the boundaries are coming up because his arms are close to the edges - the room isn't huge. Can't see an easy way around that - you really want quite a large room area even just for taking a few steps - I've mentioned before but a couple of steps in each direction plus a lean/arm extension and you're already wanting 5m x 5m.

Without supervision, people will knock themselves out on walls or smash things in games like this.

Has anyone else received a cancellation email this morning? My initial payment was blocked by my bank but I cleared it and got the email from HTC asking me to contact them to put through the order again. Now I've woken up to see this email from them cancelling the order.
