Sanders is winning the foreign policy debate.
I would say he's winning the Israel part of the debate. Which he always would because Hillary's still got some kind of J Street parasitic brain infection.
Sanders is winning the foreign policy debate.
Yes they do. I live here. Thanks
Hillary isn't a neocon...
...
Did you listen during the gun segment?
Just a Democrat.Israel is always the best way to make an American politician squirm.
HIllary is never going to answer anything directly. I cant stand her.
Yup. It's like the death penalty- they can't move on this issue any time soon.I meant it the other way honestly. Support for Israel is overwhelming and mainstream. Progressives will lose at the ballot box if they moderate. I believe this firmly.
It is a huge issue to shrug off.

Hillary is getting a significantly larger and disproportionate amount of the talking time.
Martin O'Malley's irrelevance pisses me off. He was a good progressive option.
This is what HilGaf likes huh...
Just a Democrat.
It's brutal. They ignore her disgusting shit as best they can and then rail on Sanders for the most trivial of things.
Well, one person can get some things accomplished and one will get nothing accomplished.
Bernie wants to put this topic to bed so bad.
And who the hell, in this thread or PoliGAF, is shrugging it off?
Only if you don't understand who she's talking to and why she's saying what she's saying.
And who the hell, in this thread or PoliGAF, is shrugging it off?
Because it's pointless and nothing will get done about it. Bernie is not going to fix the Israeli-Palestinian situation either. Nobody is.Everybody here spouting move on because they are bored of watching Hillary squirm.

Racism and islamophpbia is a big part of it. But every time a stream of comments about Israel pour in on this board I'm reminded how out of the mainstream progressives really are on Israel.I was just joking around but yea support for Israel is quite mainstream for what seems like no good reason. TBH i don't think its a game changer though, definitely one of the more minor issues (in the election). Sadly the mexican/south american drug wars are more violent and much closer and probably even more our fault than the isreal vs palestine issue (and legalizing drugs would probably be the easiest solution).
This is the most nuance related to Israel I've ever seen from the mouths of presidential candidates running for office.
A viewer might even get the sense that Israel isn't perfect at times.
Hmmm, I think a lot of people in this thread don't realize what this part of the debate means in NYC.
You can't actually take the position against Israel so hard in NYC, particularly Brooklyn. The Jewish vote here is really potent. Bernie harping on Palestinians so hard might actually hurt him.
I don't know enough about the conflict to take a strong stance, but I think it's a complicated place that can't be easily solved.
Yes they do. I live here. Thanks
Yeah no. One thing I can say people on Gaf will call Hillary out on anything dont agreed with. It's brutal. They ignore her disgusting shit as best they can and then rail on Sanders for the most trivial of things.
the war in the Middle East could be solved in under 24hrsBernie is asking for Hillary to give a quick soundbite answer on Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
There is no quick soundbite answer on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
Fucking exactly. A lot of people in this thread don't understand the election cycle.
Bernie is great in this topic.

This is correct. This will not help Bernie on Tuesday, no matter how others love his answer.

In that entire back-and-forth over Israel:
Sanders was speaking to America's left.
Clinton was speaking to New York.
Supporting this candidate despite this stance, to me, is a big ¯_(ツ_/¯
No she doesn't.

Yup. It's just the reality for the time being, unfortunately.Fucking exactly. A lot of people in this thread don't understand the election cycle.
