Especially since the NX version of the game "so far" doesn't seem to have a handheld equivalent, so there is nothing to hold back the issues that Sakurai was having with programming the duo for the 3DS.

Also I don't see Nintendo just trotting the game out virtually untouched, I mean it would make sense to build a little bit more upon the NX version to give people even more of an incentive to want to purchase it yet again, other than bundling all the DLC together for a standard 59.99 MSRP.

EDIT: Like I mentioned in the thread, it would be dope if they merged all the 3DS exclusive things into the NX port as well.

Aside from them, anyone else think they may add a few other things to the NX port?

Agreed. Smash U is already a personal love letter to myself as it is with all the shit they packed into the game.

There's already a battle mode in Smash. It's the default and first option on the menu screen. You don't even need to check the manual for it.

Your crazy if you think the 3Ds version would have sold as well if people thought they were getting an inferior product. 3DS was the the lead platform, not Wii U. The sales have vindicated Sakurai's commitment to not have it as an after thought.

I still can't believe they managed to pull it off, and they kept that awesome single player mode 3Ds exclusive to boot.

I don't think they ever planned to do any of that. It's just a matter of having the same metagame and core gameplay across all platforms.

Oh I like it fine, I just still never got the one character I've wanted for the past decade even when the roster exploded in size (and bottoms of the barrels were thoroughly scraped, not the DK barrel though) and this will open up that false hope again.

Likely because the NX version wouldn't have to maintain pairity with the 3DS version. But we don't know how far along the Ice Climbers were.

Same here. I'm pretty much content with Smash 4, and I don't really want to see anymore characters cut right now.

I do think Ice Climbers have a good chance to be in the game but I think we might get other characters if Nintendo, Namco-Bandai and Sakurai feel like they want to add more contents to Smash NX in order to sell the games to who already purchased the games for 3DS and Wii U which is about 10M in total.

I think there is a good chance that we might get Rhythm Heaven Representative, Inkling and Wolf.

Nah, we'll eventually need a Smash 5. Smash 4 will get stale at some point, & you can only pump so much life into a game before people grow bored of it (see SFIV).

Actually we can't be so certain without any informations. Only rumor we know is from Mr. Toto is that they are going to bring Smash NX to new console(s) as launch title.

It's very likely NX will have SSBM among other re-released GameCube games though. We already have the GC adapter to connect on USB port(s).

On topic I don't really mind if the Ice Climbers don't return, however Wolf needs to come back especially after the release of Star Fox Zero.

Let's just hope they consider adding things in the NX port. Multi-Man Melee 1 and One Winged Angels are also two musics which I need in the game so bad.

It just boils down to three things: Giving them their own custom moves, giving them their own Palutena Guidances, and fixing their CSS positions.
