Hint at Sony Bend's PS4 Game

Syphon filter

That is all

Which was in what, 1999? Are they even the same studio as then? Or were people huge fans of the PSP games or something?

Legitimately curious.

Also despite knowing nothing about this and the studio not particularly exciting me, I don't mind the name Dead Don't Ride at all.

And those Syphon Filter handheld games were fucking great too.

Exactly. They did great things with the limitations of the platforms they've worked on. To see what they do with a legit home console release has me excited. And has done every E3 since syphon filter sequel rumours were floating about.

I'd say Resistance Retribution, Syphon Filter(s) and Uncharted: Golden Abyss are widely acknowledged as among the absolute best in their genre on their respective platform. Now they have a bigger team and are working with much less limitations so I'm definitely interested.

No real reason to get hyped yet but I'd say it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Doesn't sound like my cup of tea but ehi, at least it's a news from Bend. I almost had a bad feeling about them. You know. Studio Liverpool kind of feeling.

here an interview from januar 2015 about their game:

They use Unreal Engine 4
in Full Production since 2015
want to push the Ps4 system - Somewhere It’s Never Been Before -

at that time less than 50 full time workers....wow

Full production since 2015? Pretty late considering their last release, Uncharted for Vita in 2012, don't you think? It must be something very big for them.

In late 2012 they were hiring for a Vita game. That was obviously canned. I'd guess that happened somewhere near the end of 2013 or sometime early-mid 2014. Then they had to come up with a new concept and start working with UE4 for the first time. So the timing makes sense.

They were in pre-production for over a year so that puts them starting in ~late 2013. I guess the release is 2017 so that is 3-4 years and they are using Unreal Engine which saved a lot of time/resources with Epic's help?

I'm a huge Sony Bend fan since the first Syphon Filter hit the PSX, but....

... "Dead Don't Ride" sounds terrible.
And "Metal & Bikes"? What is this? I thought we were getting a hard survival horror game.
Bikes? Ugh...... :/

Posts like these really make me cringe...

Atleast wait until you see the game for yourself

At the end of the day I could care less about the title. If the game looks fucking amazing who really cares.

Like I said earlier. I'm excited for a game called Detriot: Become Human lol.

Rumours are that they had multiple projects that didnt went into full production phase before this, including a inFamous Vita game

Hey, they're making a game with zombies inevitably in it.

How utterly boring. If there's a way to drain me of interest right off the bat, it's more fucking zombies. Good luck Bend.

I can already see how this is going to turn out.

"I don't want zombies! Boo!!! Game sucks already for me!"
*Bend creates creatures that are zombie-esque but unique in their own right*
"Meh, might as well be a zombie. Fuck this game!"

Please not an MMO or anything that resembles an MMO
I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I kid you not, I Googl'd The Last of Us Neogaf announcement and was about to mention the whining over zombies in that thread too lol.

Edit - Quite a bit of shitposting too lol.

Thirsty for them retweets.

This. Teases like this are fucking pathetic. 'Look at me, I'm somewhat of an insider'. Fuck off.

I agree 100 % Who gives a fuck what the name of the title is? What matters is if the game is fun or not.

A biker zombie apocalypse game with apparently amazing graphics sounds right up my alley. I love when developers take risks on a new daring IP.

Why are you so upset? He posted it on his twitter. He's having a bit of fun is all and people are having a time on twitter as well. The fact that someone made a thread is outside of his control.

He's literally given us the title and a vague idea of what the game might be. I just think this level of vitriol to a twitter post is a bit much.

Man, I would have loved to see that. The untapped potential of the Vita still cuts me deep.

On topic, assuming the game involves motorcycles, it'd be cool to have the game revolve around managing a motorcycle gang and recruiting members. Basically a fleshed out GTAIV: Lost and the Damned in a post apocalyptic world. Maybe have permadeath for gang members to make supply runs extra intense. I'd buy that game

You know what would have made TLoU better? Post apocalypse without zombies.

Everything interesting from that game came from the post apocalyptic angle, not from the zombie angle. EVERYTHING.

You know what zombies were in that game? An excuse to add combat action without suffering from Uncharted's 'ludonarrative dissonance'.

So no... TLoU got away with it, because it's amazingly written. Not being because zombies are good at all.

How are you so sure it's with zombies ?

I'm not... But I'm saying if it is, then that sucks.
