I dont know why they would risk something like this especially when the last battlefield game was a dud with most people and it tried to be different. Hell the past three battlefield games have been uninteresting for me. All for the same reasons too they have stagnant gameplay and average maps. I have played Verdun so I know how miserable and depressing the WW1 experience is and I know that its not something I want to experience regularly. Is this just another novelty battlefield?

Battlefront was fine.

The lack of meaningful content, lackluster single player and cooperative offerings and generic pew pew gameplay, dodgy space dogfights, systematically 4 maps across the game modes, every weapon behaving the same, random offbalancing vehicles and weapon pick ups.
Also I love how you emphasize OLD Battlefront expectations, you know fans of the original that were expecting along the lines of the merits of the Old ones? Instead we get a rushedhalf baked project made for force awakens cash grab. If this game was remotely fine those 13 million people who bought it may be still playing, but they saw right through it and now BF4 a game from almost 3 years ago and 5x the amount of content, besides a crappy launch still has more people playing it. So yeah still tell yourself the game was fine. Oh let's not forget that seaon pass!

Also why Battlefield 1? I hope they change the name, BF1 is a confusing title.

I fail to see the issue with my drawing a comparison between those as they both seem very much alike to me. As such I also do hope there are some alternate stuff in there as i find that enjoyable.

And yes, every world war reminds me of Wolfenstein, ooobviously.

And there was a bundle. So it ticks all the typical marketing stuff.

The gas mask excites me. I hope it's something we all have, and have to equip during gas raids or something of the sort (maybe levolution?).

Two things that I'd like to see are a terrain destruction engine that exceeds even Bad Company 2's level of destruction and the ability for players to build/dig their own trenches.

If it really is called Battlefield 1 it's probably going to be one of the most insane naming ever...this one is even worse than Xbox One because it has a number and the series has previously used number 2, 3 and 4.

Imagine someone who doesn't know about games wants to buy a game for someone as a gift. Thinks of getting a game BF4 or BF1? Well I'll take BF4 since that's probably newer.

As much as they've ruined the franchise starting with 3, might as well call it 1 and start anew. BF 1942, Vietnam, 2, and 2142 have been rolling over in their graves for years now. Not that most of today's gamers have even played those games, or know what they are.

It was inevitable that the setting be changed or else you'd risk diluting the excitement, you can only release the same kind of shooter so many times before people lose interest in another type. If this catches on, then in 10 years we'll flip again.

Regardless of Wolfenstein, it's very unlikely they will create an accurate representation of World War I because out how different of a gameplay experience that would be compared to past titles in the franchise.

You know it was a world war right? Trench war was only in Europe on the frontline.

There's a ton more than the trenches. Not saying you didn't know that, but that's contributing to a lot of the unhappiness. There's a ton of different battle locations, including the Alps, which will make great missions.

BC2 Vietnam? Ugh, I thought that game was awful. It was like a really bad version of the original BF Vietnam. It didn't even have the licensed music you could blast out of vehicles, which was easily one of the best parts about the original game!

No biggy! There's a ton that they could do to be excited about. Hopefully they do a good job of explaining it all because it seems like a bunch of people had similar thoughts as you. Not that that's bad, but they shouldn't be calling this stupid if they don't really have the WWI background to back it up.

Yea, I think a whole game of trench fighting wouldn't be great, but if they pulled out the Harlem Hellfighters, I'm assuming they've done their research.

Hell yeah it was, too bad its hard to find a game on 360. Usually get a max of maybe 8 people on a server. The last time I tried was 1v1, other guy messaged me and was like lets keep it on this side of the map because it took like 10 minutes to find each other.
