Strange, wonder why they went back to Xbox.
WW4 hasn't happened yet.

What about a really good Vietnam based fps for once?
Kind of pathetic. As if they invented World War 1 games now.

What mishaps? The high expectations OLD Battlefront fans had? The people who expected a Sequel?
Battlefront was fine.

All im saying is the poster reminds me of Wolfenstein in the way its done, very much so like
and the promotional art of mechanazis and such.Code:
I fail to see the issue with my drawing a comparison between those as they both seem very much alike to me. As such I also do hope there are some alternate stuff in there as i find that enjoyable.
And yes, every world war reminds me of Wolfenstein, ooobviously.

Joke post?
The gun is a Mauser wich does exist. And its not a grenade but a trench club.
and whats with the giant balloon in the background? Balloons weren't used until the 1950s to detect weather change.Game must be alternate WW1, that pistol doesn't exist, and is that an alien grenade he's holding????
It was part of a Sony E3 and had that exclusive alpha test but that was it. Nothing else.
The gas mask excites me. I hope it's something we all have, and have to equip during gas raids or something of the sort (maybe levolution?).
True but DICE already did a Nam DLC if I remember correctly. What about a really good Vietnam based fps for once?
I'm personally excited they're at least doing something different.
This future and MW shit is stale.
Looks to me like the Zeppelin is on fire above him.If true, I wonder why they're so intent on sticking with that terrible "orange sparks/blue mist" art style? To me it just looks tacky and out of place, especially for a WW1 setting. I honestly haven't liked that style since it made its debut back in BF3.
So that's how long it took, about a decade until mainstream war titles reverted back to WW settings...
Always wondered how long that would last.
Of course it isn't the lead platform in development.
You would have to be an idiot to believe that.
At the very least, yes.I feel like everyone in this thread needs to listen to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History series Blueprint for Armageddon.
cheers mate
If it really is called Battlefield 1 it's probably going to be one of the most insane naming ever...this one is even worse than Xbox One because it has a number and the series has previously used number 2, 3 and 4.
Imagine someone who doesn't know about games wants to buy a game for someone as a gift. Thinks of getting a game BF4 or BF1? Well I'll take BF4 since that's probably newer.![]()

Regardless of Wolfenstein, it's very unlikely they will create an accurate representation of World War I because out how different of a gameplay experience that would be compared to past titles in the franchise. So if looking like Wolfenstein is the only reason you think this game is set in an alternative timeline, then you also think every other world war game is set in an alternative timeline as well?
You know it was a world war right? Trench war was only in Europe on the frontline.
There's a ton more than the trenches. Not saying you didn't know that, but that's contributing to a lot of the unhappiness. There's a ton of different battle locations, including the Alps, which will make great missions.

Why not return to and see what can be done with a decade's worth of evolved tech?So that's how long it took, about a decade until mainstream war titles reverted back to WW settings...

the...Harlem...Hell...fighter?
The costuming is like a bad overly designed JRPG character.
For all the smack talk some of them were doing on twitter, that looks kinda terrible.
Yeah Bad Company 2's DLC was VietnamTrue but DICE already did a Nam DLC if I remember correctly.

It was a BC2 expansion and it was fantastic
I meant DLC, but for what it's worth, I was only told about the Xbox version.

Ah ok then. My bad. Guess the prevailing thoughts and memories of WWI wore off on me and just assumed much of the war was trench warfare. Intrigued to see how they handle this then.
Well...time to prepare for the premier

Isn't the "get DLC first" thing usually apart of the marketing deal?
That doesn't seem like some inside-knowledge. It's expected.

who gives a shit? nobody is passing over battlefield 1 for verdun.
Verdun is great guys, by the way. Loads of fun. It's the only game where I find myself leaning into the screen til' I'm like an inch away.
BC2 Vietnam? Ugh, I thought that game was awful. It was like a really bad version of the original BF Vietnam. It didn't even have the licensed music you could blast out of vehicles, which was easily one of the best parts about the original game! Terrible map design, too.
