Can I play as a 12y old?
Yeah, I want this thing in the game.Yes you are correct for example the M1908 Mondragón rifle is a Mexican weapon made by the General Mondragón and It was the first semiautomatic and automatic rifle in the world, it was used in both WW1 and WW2 that's why I hope we can use it on Battlefield 1

Just then, a portal opens up on the battlefield.
"Commander Rodgers, we need your help in 2241! Get your best men and suit on up!"
Exosuits walk out of the portal as Rodgers is sucked in the middle of an all out spacewar.

The US definitely teaches more WWII than WWI. Hitler, concentration camps, and the Nazis are far more discussed than any of WWI.I take an AP US History class and we covered WW1 twice as much as we did 2. I have no idea what he's talking about.
Didn't stop Ubisoft and The Division. DLC is a month early for XBO.
did anyone say "1 vs Infinity" yet?
You can't dislike twitch streams.
The issue with high school education for World War 1 from my experience is while they cover the basic arc of how the war went, there is no talk on its impact on the escalation to WWII.The US definitely teaches more WWII than WWI. Hitler, concentration camps, and the Nazis are far more discussed than any of WWI.
Can I have a new Timesplitters instead?*trailer opens with WWI footage*

I don't think they will do that given the game will sell the most on the PS4
I'm not debating that it's WW1 but to simply skip a game based on that fact alone is pretty absurd, especially if you're already a BF fan.
We literally know nothing else about this project.
The same thing can be said for the majority of German schools.
I'm with you faceless, but I know us old school BF players will love whatever DICE is cooking up...

Also while World War 1 set up the stage per-say for WWII and arguably the world as we know it now; WWII catapulted the US to a world superpower so in US classrooms in makes sense that it is discussed and explored more.
don't believe this. At all.
What?
This is not true, at least here in Berlin Gymnasiums.
I think the issue is that its made out to be guys sitting in a trench on each side of a field for a few years and thats it.
I might just look more into it but honestly its never been made out to be interesting and in school there was literally nothing about it. Probably barely mentioned during WW2 talk which is a shame as this thread alone have me interested in WW1.
You haven't even seen the game...so they could've knocked out of the park with Bad Company 3 but they decided to fuck us over...

It took Dan Carlin 20+ hours to cover the Great War. Yeah, it definitely takes a long time to exploreWWI is interesting because it's not a good guys vs. bad guys war. You can't gild the nastiness of war through romantic tales of a heroic struggle. You can't hide the nature of this conflict and I think that rattles collective memories. It's also hard for general education history classes to cover because it's a very complicated war to explain and it's easier to just skip over the actual war and talk about why it started and what happened after it ended. Still if you just read the Wikipedia article you'll get a good idea about what's up. The whole drama starting the war is a pretty amazing story.
You haven't even seen the game...
My concern is while it's easy to pull up one example of a semi/full auto rifle used in the war, it will be very hard to match the number and variety of weapons in past Battlefield games without embracing anachronisms.
Hope it uses the same engine as BattlefrontYou haven't even seen the game...
Without knowing anything about the game itself and what the gameplay is like? I didn't think I would ever enjoy a WW1 title but now that it's actually happening, I'm willing to at the very least give my time to DICE and see what they've been working on. To at least give this a chance. It's less about different strokes and more about making snap judgements about something you know nothing about. Not even a shred of a hint of what playing the game might be like. And if I think that's silly I'm going to express that.I wouldn't blame someone if they don't want to play a WW1 game. Different strokes for different folks.
But if it's not what I want, it sucks
Sure. The fascinating thing about WWI is how warfare had changed after years of peace and technological progress and how all those powers came to term with it. The young German nation, lusting for power, the Russians with their old equipment, the French with their traditions and so on. Also don't forget the first use of poisonous clouds, painting the battles with its horrifying green colour. There's so much here that it would be a great tragedy of people wouldn't look it up.
Hope it uses the same engine as Battlefront

If they dig well they will be able to pull an intense game, not only a trench simulator
