Yes it does, because even the emulated version is simulating a far stronger runtime enviorment and shows the same weak spots.

if the fps is an engine issue that is tied to the original creation of the game, doesnt matter if its emulated or directly ported.

I don't see how this is even an issue for FFX anyways being a turned based combat system. I mean generally higher frame rate has a larger impact if it was a game was heavily reliant on it's speed like a twitch shooter or fast paced action game like Devil May Cry, or Fighting Game like Street Fighter.

While yes a higher framerate IS preferable, but from a gameplay perspective it won't do much for FFX, which even by turned based combat system standards for an FF game isn't all that slow.

At least in my experience characters react immediately upon confirming an action and next character will act immediately afterwards based on the turn order.

It's definitely not slow like FF9 was even when you set the battle speed to the highest setting and have it on active rather than wait.

Unexpected! I never thought this'd leave Sony platforms.

Really? Especially after the Database leak of Steam's that showed it being there wayyy before this announcement?

In any case, I'll buy this and sell my PS2 and portable copy (that I never even used. Oops) to own it.

If it's $20-27 for the two games, fuck it. I'm in. Never finished X-2 anyway, and I'm glad I don't have to use a more esoteric setup like PCSX2 anymore.

They run like crap and have garbage framepacing.

Lightning Returns and Type 0 don't have this problem, btw. Thank goodness, being action games and all.

I don't think this is correct. It would be a lot easier in a PC version versus an emulated version. Modders have access to many more resources in a native PC version.

Not saying it will happen, but emulation doesn't really have any bearing on things.

Type 0 on PPSSPP got unlocked but no one has managed to unlock Type 0 HD

Woah. And in just two days! This is amazing.

What FF are we missing, PCGAF?

Don't know if already answered, but the numbered FFs without an official PC release are: I, II, XII and XV.

Spin-offs.... I don't remember if there are FF spin-offs on PC, aside from Type-0.

finally get to play with the international sphere grid. and will probably once again not bother with lightning dodging nonsense.

But FF13-3 requires always online. As does Type-0, didn't it? Two steps forward, one gigantic step back.

Nope for Type 0 and LR*.

Type 0 functions in both Steam Offline mode and if you unplug your connection.

LR is an *asterisk. It did not function when I started it after unplugging my internet (would not go past the SE splash screen). When activating Steam Offline mode, the game functions properly.

*looks at Steam page*

Japanese language support, guys. JAPANESE LANGUAGE SUPPORT.

I see you prefer the soothing caw of the crow to the laugh of the mocking minstrel.

Dunno if I'll snag this right away, but eventually, this will be mine - high speed for grinding out end-game will be so good.

I wanted IX and XII. IX has already been released, now I just need XII!

And XV of course... but that one I'm pretty certain will get a confirmation after console release.

I have no problem with the dub (I think it's mostly very good all things considered), but it'll be interesting to play the game for a fifth time, this time with the original dub, to see if/how the vibe of certain scenes change.

Yes I'm already aware of "I love you."

Damn, i'm happy to see it announced at last. But i still had no time to even start with IX. Will definitely buy it once i'm through with my backlog.

Oh sweet news! Day one buy for me! Maybe this time I'll finally be able to beat the game! Back on PS2 I screwed my party over on the sphere grid and wound up with an embaressingly weak party at endgame and never could beat that last stretch. This time I'll be able to avoid my past mistakes!

I, II, and XII mainline wise are the only ones missing. Arguably XII: Revenant Wings as well if you consider that a mainline game.
There are lots of spin-offs missing though, from Tactics to Crystal Chronicles. I wonder if the handheld ones are possible. Would be nice to see titles like Crisis Core, Tactics Advance/A2, and Dissidia on PC.

So XII is next?

They patched LR, it now correctly works offline. I can't remember if it was 100% SE's fault or there was also a Steam bug.

FFS, just have skip scene. It's not funny anymore.

If for three years it is not coming then It probably means it is too hard to implement since it is an old game and the game logic and scripts are difficult to adapt to skipping

Remember there is no cutscenes skipping for ff7-9 either.

Wow, it's no longer a PlayStation exclusive. Honestly, I never thought this would happen. If there ever was a contact between Square & Sony, it has definitely expired.

Well, yeah. That was me popping the games open right then and trying.

LR really doesn't liked dropped connections apparently, it has to be Steam Offline Mode. Type 0 doesn't care either way, that's the distinction I was going for. If your profile/the game hasn't been set up properly for Offline mode, this could cause some minor headaches for people.

EDIT: It only checks at the SE splash screen, so if it drops during play you're good, but cloud data syncing won't work.

Well, X/X2 was announced at TGS 2011. (Jesus, 2011?!)

Yeah, and that's why I don't think it's going to be announced at E3, a much bigger show. It'll be at this year's TGS, I guess.

FF12 is next. I'm putting $10 on FF12 Xodiac International Remaster for PS4/XO/PC announced at E3. any takers?

Personally think more like PS4/VITA/PS3 with a steam version a year or 6 months later

I doubt it'll come to several of those platforms. It'll definitely be on PS4.

I think S-E is done with the PS3. Maybe Vita in Japan and PC in the west. The PC version could also come later though.
