Heck, you don't even need to rotate everyone in. The way random battles work in this game everyone (except Yuna) is going to see some action as you make your way through an area. It's less AP for the party, but there's not much need for levels in this game.

Yuna's role is basically to cast Nul-Blaze/Frost/Tide/Shock whenever you bump into Flan/Element -type enemies who like to spam magic. So yes she'll get some play in most random battles too if you're not using her to heal.

But yeah I like that the game tosses mixed mobs at you that give you a reason to bring in party members whose specialty is to fell those types quickly or defend against them. Yeah you can use Auron to kill those weak lizards but you'll probably miss half the time, let Tidus or Wakka take a whack at them and guarantee you take it down in one turn.

The no encounter weapons and armor is gonna be pretty useless now there's a separate mode for it.

Anyway I just beat this game for the very first time on my PS2 last week.
Trying really hard to get into X-2 but I'm just not feeling it.

And LOL for only using YUNA for Nulls. I turned her into a black mage and she was like the strongest person in the party. Magic+Summons make YUNA OP as hell.

Gonna finish up Brigmore Witches tomorrow and then play this, maybe pause it a bit for Doom but I'll probably be done with Doom in 1 day anyway.

Why would you even let who voices Wakka of all characters determine anything about what version you play?

true that, brudda!

this is the one with the flying water volleyball right?

Doesn't really matter if they have one good VA, the dub is superior.
I wholeheartedly disagree, although James Arnold Taylor and... Auron's VA were both really good

I haven't checked in on the FF 13 steam ports in awhile. Are those still a mess? Does that mean this has a chance to be? I'd gladly replay X (never played X-2) but only if it's a decent port

Well they are still a lot better than their console counterparts but by PC standards 13 and 13-2 are meh. LR was good.

13 was TERRIBLE for me until I started doing fresh boots before playing. It seemed that any activity away from booting up and playing the game (going into Chrome or something else) turned the game into sludge.

Aside from that, graphically it has been perfect.

There is a problem with XB1 pad and wireless which I need to sort out though.

Hmmm. Maybe that's bad thinking on my part because iirc some of the issues with 13 were related to the engine. Different engine for X so maybe no issue. And if they sorted it all out by LR then hopefully these will be alright.

I also have the xbone controller issue with 13, where it doesn't recognize it. Still haven't played more than 5 mins of that game on PC. Bad Japanese PC ports really bum me out, but with ones like MGSV and DS3 I'm still optimistic. I guess we'll see...

Do we know what all the boosters are?

I would LOVE a cheat to make everybody earn XP regardless whether you used them in battle. The worst part of X for me was feeling like I had to use every character in every battle so they wouldn't miss out.

Dual audio is confirmed on the Steam page, not sure about the other stuff

The language list is app-specific, not region-specific, but given the FFXIII games have dual audio, I assume FFX and X-2 will be no different.

What Jase said. Would be good to have confirmation.

But now that I think about it, the sheer size of the game is probably more confirmation than anything, seems they aren't using separate depots for the Japanese audio and fmv, just like with FF13.

Hard to tell if it's capped at 1080p. They basically had the drop down and said "you have all the resolution settings".

1080p was highest but their monitor could be 1080p. Dunno.

The resolution list, due to the way it is ordered and the number of entries, looks like it's populated by Windows. But obviously you can't say for certain.
Also, it supports borderless fullscreen mode in the game options, which is nice.

Anyway, I lost interest due to the lack of dual audio. I'll buy it if someone mods that.

Edit: arranged and original music options are there for those who asked about that.

Yuna's is also probably the easiest celestial to unlock, so you can have her breaking damage limit before anyone else. She's hilarious when you max her because she bitchslaps giant monsters with her staff and does 99,999 damage. And then she looks real sheepish about it, like, oh, sorry I bitchslapped the life outta you.

No dual audio, okay, but have they actually said anything about the new stuff on the PC version? Boosters?

Looks like they just confirmed you CAN have Japanese audio, but only with Japanese UI and subtitles.

Good, so mods are more likely to fix this. I'll buy as soon as that happens, which I'm assuming will be very soon after it gets released.

Well, I guess I was really just wondering about the "3 parameter changes (these can not be turned off once activated)" part.

Thanks for the settings screen though, seeing so many options give me this weird optimistic feeling that maybe they actually know what they've been doing with this port!

...so can I cheat my way through JUST Evrae, Seymour Flux, and Yunalesca and play the rest of the game normal?

Somebody'll probably mod those bosses to be less fucked up.
