if sony's strategy for e3 continues to be fuck it just show whatever will be hyped regardless of release scheduled., I could totally see a TLOU2 announcement

I would be disappointed if ND next game is another sequel. Give me that space opera scifi game dammit!!

I want them to announce a new IP similar to how they did for TLOU during VGA.

If TLOU 2 were to be there it would only be a black screen with the title "The Last of Us 2".
Maybe a date as well, like 2018.

My predictions for this conference will be similar to the greatest prediction ever:

Time to remove the shackles of conservatism and embrace the hype train. My updated predictions for the keynote:

  • Show opens with a trailer for new Crash. Thunderous applause.
  • The applause transitions into screams as Jack Tretton, who has been temporarily reinstated as head of SCEA for 2 hours, takes the stage to MC the event.
  • Announces a PS4 price-drop to $149. All existing PS4 owners are gifted $200 into their PSN accounts as a thank you to launch-window buyers. Can barely hear him over the screams.
  • The lights dim as a trailer for Horizon, now named 'Emagon' is shown. The graphical fidelity of the dinosaurs causes several attendees to become hysterical. Paramedics take them away and call for backup.
  • The SEGA logo illuminates the screen. Shenmu 1 & 2 HD collection announced, bundled freely with Shenmu 3, exclusive to PS4.
  • Kojima takes the stage. MGS5 now PS4 exclusive. MGS 1, 2 and 3 to be remade in the Fox Engine for PS4. As is Snatcher. Norman Reedus and Del Toro join him on stage for a 10 minute gameplay demo of Silent Hills. Tears stream down the faces of the audience the entire time.
  • Boyes sprints on stage dressed as Santa Claus, complete with Santa’s Sack. ‘I have some more gifts for you” he says, causing uncontrollable trembling in all present.
  • Suikoden I & II are available for download NOW on PSN, including optional fully orchestrated soundtrack.
  • Did somebody say Dino Crisis 4? Yes. Adam Boyes did, JUST NOW. He makes an awkward joke about PS4 being the undisputed home of dinosaurs. The reveal trailer shows Regina in a mech-suit fighting a T-Rex, 12 Raptors and a misguided Stegosaurus atop a mountain during a hurricane.
  • Boyes drops his Santa Sack on the floor and opens it. Shinji Hashimoto jumps out. The audience has been crying for so long that large swaths of people are losing brain function due to low salt-levels.
  • He doesn’t need to ask people to please be excited; there isn’t a dry seat in the room. New trailer shown for Kingdom Hearts. Mandy Moore is back as Aerith. FFXV world map shown, and 2015 release date revealed. “One more thing.” Audience holds its breath. FFVII HD remaster trailer shown. PS4 exclusive. Many audience members forget to resume breathing. The death count is getting out of control.
  • Amid the chaos, Chris Metzen takes the stage. PS4 exclusive Starcraft Ghost revealed. Paramedics have to restrain a man from clawing his own eyes out, such is the intensity of the reveal trailer.
  • Tretton takes the stage, visibly shaken by the carnage before him. But the show must go on. Let’s talk about firmware (it’s a Sony conference). Suspend resume available next week. PSN name changes sorted out, PS2 trophy support.
  • A turnbuckle and wrestling ropes rise from the stage, and Shu rushes towards it and reaches over with his outstretched hand. Tretton tags him in.
  • Medieval, Dark Cloud, Syphon Filter, Colony Wars and Wip3out have all been green-lit for PS4 games. The amount of happening in the room is causing cracks to appear in the walls of the theatre.
  • Kratos appears on screen. He's fighting the Gods of ancient Norse mythology. Trailer concludes with him disembowling Odin with a Dane Axe.
  • Naughty Dog logo appears. First footage of the Uncharted movie is shown. Wow, they really nailed the casting of Drake. Hang on. No? It couldn’t be? It’s actually photo-realistic 60fps 1080p gameplay footage of Uncharted 4. The stress of seeing UC4 gameplay causes a woman in the front row to go into premature labour. She wasn’t even pregnant when the show began.
  • Tretton thanks people for attending and watching at home. They still have new gameplay of Bloodbourne, The Order, No Man’s Sky, EGTTR, Rime, Wild, The Witness, Shadow of the Beast and more, but emergency rooms are at breaking point. Too much hype has been spilled this day.
  • “Oh, just one more thing”
  • The Last Guardian lives. Chunks of concrete fall from the ceiling, crushing those below. The room can’t handle all of the feels pulsating out of gamers as they bask in the glory of the gameplay trailer. The audience is too transfixed to run. When the June 2015 launch date is revealed the internet as we once knew it is dead. People watching at home scramble to put batteries in CB radios, hoping to pick up military chatter about the PSX event.
  • Only one attendee remains alive in the theatre. His glasses shattered while watching Sora, Donald and Goofy wage battle with Prince Hans, sparing his eyes from what followed. Scrambling over the corpses in the theatre, he takes refuge under a desk with Jack Tretton.
  • “Is it over?” he asks Jack tentatively.
  • “Yes” sighs Jack. “Well, except for one more thing”
  • The roof explodes, allowing a helicopter to lower someone down onto the stage.
  • It’s Gaben. Half-life 3 confirmed. Console exclusive on PS4. Available for download on Steam and PS4 RIGHT NOW.

If it eventuates it’d only be a solid 7/10 show because no Mass Effect or Fallout.

Isn't it pretty much set in stone that they're working on TLOU2 and a new IP? UC is done and they aren't going to be revisiting old IPs.

TLOU2 prototypes were shelved a while back when they started to focus on UC4. So it's really hard for me to imagine a new IP coming out before TLOU2.

I just want the announcement to tell me who the protagonist is. I kinda want older Ellie. But I also want something completley new.

In the past half decade, Naughty Dog has only missed one E3 stage presence, and that's because they were releasing a game that week. I would think Sony would like them to have something for E3 every year.

They released a game one month before E3. Basically the same scenario. They won't have anything new there this year.

I've said it before but I hope Sony/ND don't release a CG teaser for TLOU2 at this E3... Assuming Druckmann/Straley are leading it (which they will be) it's probably a late 2018/early 2019 game at this point. They should wait longer, probably E3 2017.

I don't think they will announce it at this E3 though.

All we know about ND's next project is what Druckmann said awhile back about them having another Uncharted 4 sized project in pre-production phase. What was that last year sometime? Forget exactly when.

So them being able to atleast tease the direction of the title isn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

I really think it is time for Geurilla and Santa Monica to shine though. Horizon and God of War 4 could be real show stoppers. ND has had their time, Sony has many other studios to spotlight now. So despite the above I highly doubt ND is even mentioned besides great sales and critical acclaim

predictions

- No mention of Spiderman or even Sucker Punch for that matter

- NEO announcement for $400, November 2016

-Crash PS4 is announced, being made by Japan Studio or Sanzaru

- New showing for The Last Guardian with a September 2016 release date.

- Dead Don't Ride is revealed, looks gud.

- Injustice 2 announced before E3, Batman v Superman trailer at Sony's show

- New Street Fighter V content

- Shenmue 3 update with gameplay

- Indie and PSVR segments

- Surprise Devil May Cry 5 reveal

- Resident Evil 7 will be at Microsoft's show

- Final No Man's Sky marketing push, maybe a short playtest released before/during E3.

- New Destiny expansion segment

- Final Fantasy XV trailer w/ the announcement of FFXIIHD

- Ni no Kuni II trailer, maybe a new L5 announcement too?

- No Gravity Rush 2 on stage, but there will be a new trailer released during or before E3 week.

- No Persona 5 on stage

- From Software announces whatever their next exclusive is.

and das it. Probably could throw in a release date for Nioh as well.

Edit: How'd I forget God of War IV? That'll obviously be there.

I have not kept up with this topic at all. Is this where we request to be in the Sony E3 Hype Train?
If so, please add me. Preferably driving my own Rocket car next to the hype train.

For some reason my brain is convinced Sony will announce full PS3/PS2 backwards compatibility...but only on Neo.

Sony will not add Cell to Neo because of the 100+ more it will add to the price and emulating PS3 games is still a bitch because of cell.

You don't expect God of War?

It seems like a lot of this could happen, though I still think they'll open with TLG again.

I'm hoping that Elite Dangerous will be given a PS4 release date this year (I'm guessing December).

Apart from that TLG and KH2.8 release dates are all I require.

My predictions, trying to keep this all fairly realistic:

- Starts with a God of War IV gameplay demo. Kratos in Norse Mythology messing stuff up with massive axes and hammers, ending on a scene as he's riding Fenrir as Thor casts down lightning bolts at him.
- Dead Don't Ride from Sony Bend. It's Dead Rising x Mad Max, with motorcycles. A dumb fun over-the-top open world post apocalypse action adventure.
- A cinematic trailer for Detroit: Become Human. More androids-want-to-be-human melodrama with good acting but bad dialogue.
- A sizzle reel for some big already-released 2016 games, maybe with some kind of 'The best place to play' tagline: Dark Souls 3, Uncharted 4, Overwatch, Alienation, Battlefront, Doom (if Sony have the marketing?), etc.
- Another sizzle reel for upcoming exclusives: Gran Turismo 6, Ni No Kuni 2, The Tomorrow Children, What Remains of Edith Finch, Wattam and Persona 5.
- Maybe a trailer for Uncharted 4, along with a bunch of awards and acclaim it has gotten. I think it's going to be too soon for any story DLC, although we may see some new multiplayer maps. They may announce it has sold X copies (4 million?) and thank the fans for the journey.
- A gameplay demo/trailer for Dreams, possibly with a release date, and definitely a beta announcement.
- A cinematic trailer for Nioh. Visuals looking considerably improved, and it shows an emphasis on boss battles. Dated for Q1 2017.
- Gravity Rush 2 shows up with a brief hyperactive trailer showing Kat adventuring and taking out bad guys with her powers. Looking beautiful and better than ever, and the trailer ends with a release date for October 2016.
- A sizzle reel of upcoming PSVR games - RIGS, Driveclub VR, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, EVE Valkyrie, Robinson: The Journey, and so on.
- Hopefully followed by a look at the final PSVR hardware and release date.
- PS4K next. Uncharted 4 will be the first game to benefit from the hardware boost, upping the campaign to 60fps. All first party hardware will take advantage of this with games having increased performance on the 4K, but none will be exclusive to it so all software will still be available on regular PS4. Releasing alongside PSVR later this year for $399.
- Horizon: Zero Dawn. New gameplay trailer showcasing the open world, variety of environments including towns, ruined cities and mountains, gameplay systems like accepting missions and trading, and more of the combat.
- Sucker Punch will debut their new game - I'm expecting it to be a new Infamous, probably with Delsin again. Hopefully the mission design will be better in this and the city will feel more alive.
- Probably some COD: Infinite Warfare and Destiny: Rise of Iron stuff. Hopefully Destiny continues to evolve; with missions and storytelling resembling The Taken King. Infinite Warfare will silence a lot of critics as the gameplay will actually look very solid and the spacefaring combat a lot of fun.
- The Last Guardian shows up with another few minutes of gameplay. Visually looks similar to last year but looks just as charming as ever and it ends with 'September 20th 2016'.
- Finally, we end with a gameplay trailer for Crash Bandicoot Reborn. Starts with him running down a corridor similar to the PS1 games (may begin with the PS1 visuals and fade into the PS4 version), and when Crash reaches the end of the corridor it opens up into a large level showing a jungle, wide open areas and, in the distance some kind of ominous tower or building, and as the picture fades and the camera pans back we hear Cortex' laugh. I'm thinking a semi-open design like the original Jak & Daxter. Made by Sanzaru Games.

I'd really like to see a new game from Japan Studio as well, but I think that will be held back for TGS or PSX.

EDIT - I might have forgotten a couple of obvious ones, and some of these (like Detroit) might be held back for other shows.

You really expect Naughty Dog to show something new ?

Lol, maybe The Uncharted 4's DLC but that's all

Their next game won't come out before 2018, they already said The entire studio was on Uncharted 4

I'm trying to put myself into Sony's shoes. They probably know they can't live up to last year's conference, but I bet at the same time they don't want us to be disappointed, so they HAVE to make it good.

What are the actual dates of E3? The site says 14-16th, but it seems the conferences are like 12-13? Whats going on? I want to book some time off work for E3 and to catch up on games but don't know what dates yet

Announce what ? They have nothing ready to show

They won't be there with anything new. This is madness, and frankly if all they would have would be a CGI trailer for a game that's 2+ years away, who really wants that?! They've literally just released one of the best games of the generation, so for God's sake give them a bit of breathing space!

Sony's conference is on Tuesday 14th (2am UK time  as usual), but I believe MS and Ubisoft's take place the day before. EA I don't think are there this year (I think they have their own separate event beforehand), and I think Bethesda are doing their own show beforehand as well.

Well, Bruce Straley also said that they weren't able to get a Crash Bandicoot easter egg in Uncharted 4 and we all know how that turned out. :P

Nah its still the 13th in the US. But yeah early AM of the 14th Uk time.
