The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

I'm addition to the patch causing the weird XP thing (went from just having hit level 24 to having 2000/2000 exp on level 24), I'm missing random sound effects. There's no sound effects when:

- casting signs
- completing a quest
- gaining EXP
- gaining a level
- looting items from chests/bodies/etc

Anyone else had this happen?

I'm so excited to play this! The Witcher 3 and Hearts of Stone are by far the most rewarding gaming experiences I have had this generation so far.

Was just collecting up all the Wolven diagrams and one leads you to the old mutagen cave in Kaer Mohren. There's a book there called "my evening with a vampire" about a guy who meets Regis, really interesting/intimidating.

It's just the patch verifying the files or whatever if your on console, it's gonna go down. The patch is not 19gb.

Nah, this is the total size of all patches, the last time this was ~16GB. The physical download will be only the difference between patches.

Really? It has been downloading for over an hour and it didn't go down until now. Also, the download bar is still at the beginning. I hope I'm wrong.

Someone will have to check things out when they get to a part where you control
Ciri
. Getting hit during Blink now. Not good on death march.

Really kind of frustrated that for all of the inventory improvements they have implemented a proper dynamic HUD (it should fade out of combat even if I'm not at full health) and a 3D quest marker in Witcher Sense so I don't need to keep going to the World Map to find out where to go. Looks like I'll be waiting for Friendly HUD to update before continuing on.

I know there is a mod that does it but I would actually love an official 3D quest marker. I play with the minimap off so it would be great to have something that gives a general sense of direction but still lets you keep your eyes on the world and pick your own path to get there.

It takes 45 minutes to download 2,7 GB? Thanks Sony. For the players.

I can't even pause it because it would take another 20 minutes for the patch to continue downloading.

Wow great job CDPR... The new UI is such a massive improvement over the original. It really does feel like a different game.

UI overhaul is great. I get more invested in the monster fights when getting to the bestiary/potions are so painless. Level scaling is fantastic. I understood why people didn't want it due to Bethesda backlash, but it really keeps the world a little more interesting when your actions keep your character growing.

I still wish you could alphabetize the books.

Anyone know where the Gwent book is to tell you which cards you're missing and where to get them?

merchant near St. Gregory's Bridge in Gildorf district of Novigrad.

Port to the bridge then go down from it and left. Should see a store.

Not sure why you're liking the new UI. Seems just as slow as the old one, if not slower. Multiple second pauses when switching to ingredient/quest item tabs and one second pauses every time I enter the map.

Probably depends on how much shit you're carrying around. Might not be that optimized yet.

Probably my most anticipated feature. The fights are just more fun and engaging when they aren't trivially easy. Definitely enabling that ASAP.

I'm level 40 ng+ hardest difficulty and need to get 60 for the expansion fast.
What's the most op game breaking build that exists?
I'm cat school, fast spin to win build atm.

That's what I'm seeing too. It's not super helpful tbh, there's a lot of land to cover to find ALL of the cards.

A lot of them are random drops from innkeepers so you got to cover that land anyway.

I wanted to throw my console out the window when I had 1 left and was lapping the maps multiple times.

Shit, got my limited edition from Mediamarkt and I can't redeem the code. Guess they're not unlocked yet?! :(

Nope, codes unlock at 1am CEST.

I had 1 left today, literally found it on my first fast travel haha.

Look up guides for Death March Alchemy builds. Alchemy is OP in this game.

Wear cat school gear, put severance on both swords, talent up to rend.

Rend everything. Repeatedly. Don't try to pull off huge rends, just hold it long enough to get the rend off and spam it.

Have fun hitting everything in the game for 10k+ over and over.

Another bug I've found is that if you look at your stat screen, say for the armor/resistances you get, then swap your armor, it doesn't update the info unless you exit and reopen the menu. :/

Went to get the Gwent book from the Novigrad merchant. He has one of the figurines for sale from one of those statuette quests, I thought I had done them all, what gives? He also has 2 other quest items of which I'm fairly sure I did the related quests. Common bug that he just keeps selling these?

Patch must've not been that big, someone in here said like 12 GB and I was like "whaaaaaaaaaa" but no, it must've been way less because I left it downloading for less than an hour in sleep mode as I did some chores, came back and it was done.

Now I just wait for the game to unlock in 6 hours and 12 minutes.

BW is 12 gb. Patch would be less.

The new UI makes me enjoy the game so much more and makes me want to do everything. That probably sounds silly but now that things are less obtuse, easier to read and less of a slog to go through I'm already enjoying myself plenty more, the increase of color and size in the menu is definitely welcome!
