I get why people associate sucker punch with super heroes but literally nothing in any of the infamous games correlates to spidey's particular move set and the way he gets around

Yep, I'd love for the Sunset Overdrive team to be working on it because they fucking nailed open world traversal with that game.

Since there will be a PS4 Neo, will we ever see another PS VR version with revamped hardware using better hardware and components, maybe better display and resolution with more responsiveness (just like the new iterations of Oculus Rift) which will be suited for PS4 Neo?

Nah PSVR is already a very well made headset. It's already getting a lot of praise (for it's build and use of components. non-pentile OLED for a start).

It just needs a Neo for higher fidelity 1080/60 on more complex VR games. The only typed of game (VR) I think we have a small chance of a dev doing down the line simply saying this really only can be done on Neo.

I was excited until I read Insomniac and last part. I'd like to see a realistic MCU spiderman by sucker-punch.

Don't get me wrong, i love Insomniac. But it fits sucker-punch more.

Maybe this Spider-Man is using that Sony's CGI Spider-Man animation movie art style?

People wishing for Crash being only in Skylanders just for the meltdowns on GAF/Internet are really weird, and I am saying this as someone who couldn't care less about Bandicoot.

I don't care about Crash but now I'm just wanting a Crash solo game to be true so we can up that Skylanders thread.

Considering Spiderman is back to his comical snarky/juvenile roots, this may be a good thing. Loved him in Civil War. There is a Spiderman movie coming, which this will probably tie into. I believe Sony still has the movie licensing rights as well.

My first E3 as a GAF member. Can't wait to embrace the madness.

Anyway, the sole thing I need from Sony is a solid date on TLG. If they deliver on that, I'd personally be happy.

thats one thing they would have to overcome. but insomniac on the other hand would have many areas to overcome for a spidey game imo.

thats fine I get that, I'm sure sucker punch would do a fine job making a spider-man game I'm just saying I don't understand this notion that its a perfect match or something

I never said perfect match.

Did we ever figure out what Verendus meant by "Lockstarter" all the way back in 2013? However, if he knew about a Rockstar exclusive (or timed) in 2013, then I doubt it's Red Dead.

How many of that list has come true?

I can think of:

Sega - Yakuza
Capcom - Street Fighter
Level-5 - Ni No Kuni
Koei - Ni-Oh

I had some second thoughts about doing this, but what the hell? I don't think it will matter if it's like this. Sony has exclusive games coming from the following:

- Sega
- Capcom
- Level-5
- Namco Bandai
- Lockstarter (lol)
- Lazyeye (lol)
- Warner Bros.
- Koei

Some others too but will not say those just yet. This isn't including partnerships which wouldn't really be third party. It's okay though guys, Sony doesn't have any money. Poor people for a reason. Lockstarter? Who has even heard of them? Exactly.

Having said that, the larger focus is on improving their first party teams and taking things from there.

Edit -

Someone in the list who shouldn't be. Removed for now...

Off-topic. Poor Neil though.

For Bandai Namco, isn't Ace Combat 7 PS4 exclusive?

Yeah gotta agree with this somewhat, the cartoony art style part lowered my hype quite a bit. After seeing what Sucker Punch did with inFAMOUS Second Son, and there being speculation about them possibly working on spiderman, it had me hyped for a crazy good looking semi-realistic style spiderman game.

We've been getting plenty of stylized spiderman games over the years, but my favorite looking spiderman games have been the ones that skewed towards a realistic visual style.

Still, I'm curious to see what insomniac will do. They make terrific games.

Actually, the bigger reason I'm sad about insomniac being tied to this game is because this makes it extremely unlikely they're handling the Crash game which is what I wanted. I doubt ND would be doing it, and I'd prefer insomniac handling Crash over pretty much any other developer in the industry at this point.

Lockstarter=Kickstarter=Shenmue III?

So is RDR3 fully expected to be at E3 at this point?

Who knows. lol Again the amount of talk surrounding them this E3 as well as some insiders and outlets refusing to talk about them makes it seem like, yeah Red Dead is gonna be there.

Just saw this linked on GTAForums which is just a time-lapse video for Red Dead Redemption:
The Beauty of Red Dead Redemption

...6 years on and the game's horse animations haven't been surpassed IMO. Hell, the video makes me want to fire up my 360 copy but I'm only holding off in case of a remaster reveal. lol

Sony? Big PS icon, MS nab timed exclusive.

Agent fine, it's always been said to be an exclusive "owed to Sony". Moneyhatting something RDR related or a new IP from Rockstar, no thanks.

I don't understand why Rockstar would let any company moneyhat their games for any significant amount of time. Financially how much money are we talking about here to do that? Exclusive content is one thing but yeah I don't see something as big as RDR getting that sort of treatment.

Just going on the weak rumour, but I agree, RDR isn't getting touched by anyone. It's Agent or nothing.

Timed exclusives are bullshit. IF Rockstar owed Sony an exclusive for some reason, creating Agent, fine. Not timed though, at that point if Rockstar have wiggled things legally down to that just let it go Sony. I know you probably want to get back at MS for TR, but upfront timed exclusives are the sleaziest of sleaze. Just spend your money on new IP/IP you own.

Technically speaking, Rockstar does owe Sony a big something, as part of the deal that occurred when Rockstar purchased the development assets of L.A. Noire which Sony had been funding up until that point.

This wouldn't be Sony paying for something, more like Sony collecting what they are contractually owed.

Which if true is going to happen with Agent, or some other new IP. I see no chance of Sony touching existing R* IP.

Man, Sucker Punch would easily kill it with a Spider-man game.
I think Insomniac are just as capable to be honest. Either way, Spider man can be huge, so hopefully the quality is there, and they get the new kid to play him would be cool, or even the actor from the TV shows is good.

I thought infamous could be fleshed out into something bigger and better but if Sucker Punch wants something new more power to em. I really loved Infmaous though and think that franchise can do millions more if they increase the budget and make a true open world super hero game.

Yep Insomniac are one of the best fits imo. Don't get the negativity about it.

Again, exclusives have a monetary value. They could of negotiated it into it being 'The Agent', but the deal could just as easily be renegotiated to be a decade's worth of exclusive marketing rights on all Rockstar releases, or exclusive DLC for the next 2 or 3 Rockstar Games, or whatever else that is decided upon between Sony & R*.

Personally, I don't see them pulling the trigger on their contract for RDR2, but if Sony finally understands that the dev effort behind Agent has fully stalled, I could see them trying to renegotiate for some other form of compensation. I mean, last estimate for how much that deal came out to was over $50 million worth of funding, so its not like its a small bit of chump change Sony lost & is looking to regain from the LA Noire deal.

Sucker Punch making Spiderman would print money, and I imagine it will look ridiculous if their latest game in early 2014 looked as good as it did. Would be cool if they got the Spiderman kid from Civil War to do its VA as well.

I think I get it now... Sony bought Activision and now Spiderman and Crash will belong to Sony. They will obviously still let Call of Duty be multiplat though. It all makes sense! Now that would be a Megaton.

Maybe for PS5
