Im not a Knack hater, its a nice game, but E3 is not the place to show that game after the reception of the first one
The reception being bad is exactly the reason why they shouldn't be revealing the game off to the side. People who didn't like the game but played it/owned it aren't going to be seeking out info on the new one. If the game has truly been improved and refined into a solid title that these folks could actually be interested in, the best way to bring it to their attention would be E3.

But yeah, this is all assuming the game has been improved. If it's more of the same without any real improvements to address the common complaints/concerns, then yeah, I agree, it shouldn't be at E3. And this is coming from someone who loved the first one.

I agree that Knack 2 is not going to be at this E3, not because of the original's reception tho, but because of the similarities Knack shares with Crash. It wouldn't make sense to reveal the two at the same event. (that is assuming both are being made, which is baffling because Knack is basically Crash..

Besides Crash's charm, Knack is actually a superior game, especially on hard mode.

Knack 2 will probably be revealed in passing in a montage or in a press release. It definitely won't get an E3 stage.

Knack was just a small, decent game that gave people something to play when there wasn't much else.

Knack sold very well and I could see Knack 2 selling around Ratchet and Clank numbers if it's marketed right this time.

Now that is a good joke.

If I was playing the game on easy, then I would agree with you, but playing Knack on the hardest difficulty is quite similar to Dark Souls gameplay in terms of properly timing your dodging and countering. The game just need more polish, a little more depth in the fighting and more personality in the characters, but game was great overall.

I love Knack, and played through it on Hard mode the first time, which is probably one of the bigger reasons why I ended up liking it compared to others. I even consider it one of the best gaming experiences I've had in recent years.

But still, no. Crash outclasses Knack easily in my books. It was quality all around. Knack has quite a few problems. Plus. they really aren't even in the same genre, Knack barely has any platforming elements. It's a brawler.

I really don't see the similarities. They're both VERY different games. Hell, Knack's hardly a platformer, just a half-assed GOW clone. Crash, on the other hand is basically built around platforming. I don't understand why assuming one means the other can't happen and I don't give two shits about Knack.
I wasn't serious about the last part, lol. I know that they're different, I played and liked both, but come on, they do share some similarities. Hell, they look like twins! :P

I think Horizon's concept art leaks had a lot to do with that. We don't have any idea what DDR looks like.

Yeah, we had some stunningly gorgeous concept art leaked for Horizon to build hope on, and then adding to the imagination some leaks cluing us in on it being a big RPG.

Sony publishing Spiderman makes no sense to me whatsoever. Did Disney kill their own videogame publishing arm too? Why do they even need Sony to work with Insomniac, when they can do it themselves?

they literally did kill their publishing arm. they canceled Disney infinity. they license their stuff now

I mean, Disney gave EA the Star Wars license, it's not crazy to see Disney to do the same. Maybe they are playing it smart, Disney must know that Sony's strengths right now are their gaming division. But Sony still holds a bit of that Spidey movie license, so maybe Disney just wants to slowly make a trade for the rest of the Spidey movie license in exchange for EXCLUSIVE spidey video game license.

It's the best I can come up with, I know it's far fetched but If I'm disney even with a deal with Sony I would rather own the Spider-Man movie license through and through even if means giving the video game license.

Either that or moneyhat is the only logical reason why Disney would license spidey exclusively to Sony for any period of time.

Yes. That's exactly what they did. Disney Interactive doesn't exist anymore.

The last Spider-Man game was multiplat and it struggled to top 100k in its first NPD month, meanwhile, Infamous:SS topped 450k in its first NPD month, and the last Batman game topped 900k in its first month.

What is the point of making sure Spider-Man is multiplat if no one is buying the games?

A good spiderman can sell, the last spiderman game was not good.

Isn't Spider-Man IP belonging to Marvel and thus to Disney? How did Sony and Insomniac snatch the rights to make an exculisve game?

the same way EA got starwars.

About the affirmation that spiderman games don't sell, thats mainly because they suck, its not a franchise problem, if they develop a good spiderman game it will sell

A high budget spider-man game with good word of mouth should do well I think. especially coming off of his glowing reception in Civil War

Whaaat?

I thought license their IPs only meant that that they won't develop games internally.

I mean, what games would they have to publish if they aren't developing any? Disney, at least in recent times, hasn't been publishing anyone else's games outside of the remakes of the earlier Capcom titles.

Considering just how many IP Disney now owns, this is a fantastic thing.

Spider-man benefits from quite a few factors, including not having had a game published in the triple A sphere for quite awhile (since 2012), and that the character is riding high right now thanks to his implementation in the MCU. People are currently very Spidey-positive, and that'll extend to his game. Batman enjoyed a similar lead-in into Arkham Asylum back when the Nolan-verse was riding high after TDK.

Also, Insomniac is a talented developer; their core Burbank team delivered SSOD to strong reviews, the Ratchet team delivered a really solid R&C game - honestly, this could be a huge hit for everyone involved.

Oh absolutely. The games don't sell because they are bad, and because they are bad, spiderman games have lost a lot of their pull among gamers. If Disney were to straight up licence the franchise out to Activision, or EA, or whoever in a big multi-year, multi-game deal, they would get a fraction of the licencing money that they would have back in 2004 when spiderman was selling millions of copies of games.

So a smart move would be to do a short 1 or 2 game deal with a publisher(Sony) who you think would make a quality product, even if that publisher would give you less than a multiplatform publisher. If that publisher(Sony) can make spiderman a big hit again, Disney can turn around, and licence it out to multiplatform publishers for much more than they would be able to today.

Also this could all just be a part of the deal that brough Spiderman into the Marvel movies.

I waa just watching the reactions to the year of Dreams trio reaction ans man the goosebumps really got to me.

I doubt there will be reveals at that level, but man 1 game minimum to get me rocketing out of my seat is what I want. It would be such a great boost for exama later in the week.

I think it's time for a new full slate of predictions borrowing from the rumors and what is expected to be there because why not?

- Opening montage... Starts talking PlayStation's history leading to...

17 games shown individually along with some PSVR and Neo talk. Show opens with a flurry of first party games like they usually do and features the usual third party stuff we aren't really interested in. Crash, Agent, Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry help it live up to the "Dreams 2.0" billing.

Does Wild still exist or did that go the way of Rime?
It most definitely still exists (unless something extremely unexpected happened in the last 7 months or so which I doubt). They've already showed off extended actual gameplay unlike Rime which was only trailers (that supposedly were target renders and not the actual game at all). I would expect it to come out next year, maybe it gets a trailer at E3 but they'll probably wait until PGW again.

Wait there is a new Housemarque coming in addition to Matterfall ?
That is more hype for me than any leak ! Resogun still is PS4 best game I've played.

They're making a game with Eugene Jarvis, the creator of games like Smash TV, NARC, and Robotron. It's going to be multiplatform.

I wonder what's going to be announced/shown today? There are some things planned for Sunday, but Friday is usually the last day the companies show things.
