Do we have an idea of what Sucker Punch is doing? It's been over 2 years since their last game, you'd think they would have something to show?
Mmm they were hiring for a third person game awhile ago I assumed it was another infamous (yes!!!!..what sue me I need a non launch infamous) unless shinobi wants to chime in..wink wink,

Apparently it's not Infamous, nor is it the rumored Spider-Man game. So it's either a new IP, or Sly 5.

Verendus described their game as "more polished" than ISS, and has been in playable form since last year according to Shu.

Tomb Raider is happening, right?
They gave a 1 year exclusive to the competition, I highly doubt it. I think Sony will focus on PSVR and specially games that have some type of PS exclusivity, even if it's DLC timed exclusive.

With all the stuff they have coming this and next year, they would have enough time to fill 2 or 3 conferences just talking about "exclusive" stuff.

I threw up in my mouth alil...ew

That got me thinking though, what are the various options for how we get a Crash game?

What I have is
- PS4 exclusive Crash by a Sony studio
- PS4 exclusive Crash by an outside studio contracted by Sony
- Multiplatform Crash by an Activision studio

Are there other possibilities? I'm drawing a blank.

Oh shit, I was planning to watch those live but I'll be flying during the entire time. I'm landing in NZ on Tuesday 1pm, which is the time the Sony Conference starts. By the time I get home it'll be all over :'(

It's dead.

LOL. The concept behind this was gold, but the execution was below what I wanted. Shame.

I was kinda hoping a new Infamous. Whatever they do, I hope it's superhero-related. Second Son was all kinds of fun and honestly they haven't pushed that nearly as far as it can go.

Thanks Warriors! Now I can watch Sony's press conference in peace!

lol. Ain't no Game 6 bih?

As for that Verendus list--there's like three of them, one of which said that "Superman would be making his return to consoles" or something, and specified it wasn't a fighting game. I wouldn't expect an announcement on that until next year though--SoM 2's a given for a release next year, Suicide Squad probably this year to time with the film. There's no reason to come out with that Superman title too, if it exists.

In a dream world it would be option one, but who could pull it off? Sucker punch? Naughty dog ain't doing it.
Option 2 again who could do it? Insomniac? They're supposedly working on spiderman

Option 3 can burn in the flaming pits of hell.

My question is, what is a 2016/2017 Crash Bandicoot game? Is it like the original trilogy but prettier, or something totally different? What is everyone hoping for?

I think Activision was probably working on a Crash game last year before a deal was finalized with Sony and they either took it over or it was turned into the Skylander set that we know is coming. I definitely believe Sony owns the IP now, but as part of the deal to get it back they have Crash in Skylanders for more publicity for both.

I'm thinking they'll go for a remade original trilogy right away tbh. But when a new game comes I expect it to be similar to the originals, but with bigger levels ala Wrath of Cortex but better and more polished.

My hope is that the new Crash game is to the Crash trilogy what DKC Tropical Freeze is to the DKC trilogy.

Same style as the original trilogy, with refined mechanics, and more dynamic levels. Maybe multiple paths and more secrets as well, but still retain the basic formula of the original games.

Option 3 is worst-case scenario, agreed.

I just want a good Crash game, no matter how it gets made.

Scott Rhode confirmed that Sucker Punch's game wasn't as far along as Sony Bend's at PSX. Yoshida also confirmed that it was in some type of playable form last e3, though yoshida teased Sony bends game in 2013 so I doubt that really means anything.

As much as I want to see it, I can't allow myself to get hyped and expect it to be at e3.

NNK 2 likely is not an exclusive L5 JRPG, specifically since it was announced as a "PS4 Console Debut".

Messaging at that Sony press conference was all out of wack. They also said Nioh was a console debut even though every press release for it ever says it's being made "exclusively for PS4." Ni no Kuni II's Japanese YouTube trailer description also lists it as "PS4専用ソフト" (PS4-exclusive software).

That's the thing, few want the non-Naughty Dog Crash games. And Activision doesn't have the rights to remake the ND titles.

I don't think this is accurate. The only proof people have provided that Sony has publishing rights to the original games is that 1) They were the original publisher, and 2) they published the games on PSN.

The second point isn't all that convincing in my opinion, because just about every PSOne Classic is published by SIE (barring the games Monkey Paw and Hamster licensed out). As for Sony being the original publisher, well it's been almost two decades; I feel like the license would have moved over to Activision by now. Not to mention that the PSN Store pages still have Universal listed as the trademark holder.

Crash Bandicoot and related characters TM & © Universal Interactive Studios, Inc. Licensed by Universal Studios Licensing, Inc.

Edit: the only case I could see for Sony having some ownership over the original titles is that the PSN page for Crash 2 lists the source code as being copyrighted by Naughty Dog. But that page was put up in January 2008, three months before Activision and Vivendi merged. It's also the only one of the original trilogy that has the source code copyrighted by Naughty Dog on its PSN page.

This.

The original games still play very well. Hell, some 2.5D levels ala Super Mario 3d World be great. The main things is it should feel fun to play immediately.
