Xbox One S: 40% smaller, 2TB, 4K for movies/tv, internal PSU, $300

hmm ... love to hear the name on stage "Xbox One-Ass". Almost as good as Apples "for Ass!"

Looks good thou, but I don't think my one will die yet :)

"S" is a commonly used letter in the english language. noone's gonna giggle when people say "S".
Do you giggle whenever Samsung release ANY of their features or smartphones?

Galaxy ASS 2, ASS 3, ASS 7 lolololol

This is exactly what I wanted. I could not fit the Xbox One in my entertainment center (like, it physically would not fit), so I was waiting for a slim version. If it's priced at $300, day one.

This is barely smaller. Weird, why even make a slim console at all at this point?

Xbox M

People keep expecting some PS2 -> PS2 slim shit.
The two revisions of the PS3 weren't exactly "tiny" either.

It's not Galaxy for Ass ololol.
You're no fun :(

"for ass" doesn't mean anything really. It's not an actually used idiom.
Unless you're German and you think there's a literal translation for "für'n Arsch".

Shit got interesting.

PS4 still wins in terms of games with superior hardware.

BUT

Now it looses to the Slim in terms of multimedia.

Plus we have the Neo and Scorpio on the way.

Talk about a confusing as fuck marketplace.

Are people fuckwits?

Unless you name things a la WiiU and not bother with advertising, then you should be OK.

Is it patterned? How weird.

I wonder how small it will be. Will MS still go a bit overboard with the cooling system to be sure of no RROD?

If the size was an issue then the PS4 would be susceptible of failures due to cooling issues, but so far that has not been the case for this gen, especially considering that both the PS4 and XB1 are basically using the same Jaguar APU's from AMD, just the XB1 is clocked slightly higher but the graphics on the PS4 has somewhat more grunt.

The XB1 S is still slightly larger than the PS4 anyways so there is probably room for an additional fan or heatsinks.

I'm late to posting in the thread, but as an existing Xbox One owner, I think this'll be a case of "want, but certainly don't need" for me. Hopefully the form factor will set the standard that Scorpio will adopt.

Eh, I do like how it looks. I despise the look of the original One.

PS3 to PS3 Slim difference from this pic is big... about half the weight... that makes all the difference.

we don't know the depth of the console.

Again: If it's a 10% reduction in width, 15% reduction in heigth, but it's 20% less deep, we're already at -40% volume / weight.

the PS3 slim was actually only -35% lighter than the OG PS3 and a -38% reduction in volume.
- it was onyl 10% less wide, and actually 5% deeper, but 34% less tall)
The PS3 slim was still a huge fuckin console.

This kind of remind me of the slim ps2 for some reason

anyway. I think I will stick with my current Xbox for 2 reasons :

1- my xbox one is very silent. and this is very important to me. I am not sure what is the sound or the heat will be out from this console.

2- I have a modded xbox one console that is actually the Halo limited edition console with an Xbox one Elite HD in it. so its pretty much faster than the regular HDD.

and I really really really really like the Xbox one Halo limited edition system.

Wait...WHAT? The power brick is internal? As in, not external? This was on my wish list.

You hear that, Nintendo? You're next. No more big fat power brick(s) please.
I prefer external power. Tons less heat in the console and after you plug it in you never see it again. The Xbox One is dead silent thanks to that. The X1S will probably sound like the PS4 with it internal.

The USB port is in a bad spot if you want to stand the console up vertically.
You'd think they would have the port at the bottom if it was standing.

Beautiful.

One of the best looking consoles ever made, which is quite a step up from OG bone which is one of the clunkiest looking consoles ever.

Well done Microsoft. And not bad leaking just a day early.

Looks much better, assuming the power supply is in there this time. Still expecting it to be pretty lacklustre as far as specs go even with the 4k video out
