High dynamic range is basically more colors and deeper blacks. Of course you need a hdr capable tv.

Not sure if only movies or also games, I can assume it can be both or possibly just one. Hopefully both.
Your TV needs to support it in order to use it, and it will only be on the S since it needs a different HDMI port to work.
The trailer said HDR gaming.
no, Xbox 360 had an "S" version. So did the Xbox original's controller.

I'm not going to be jumping into the Xbox ecosystem, but that is a fantastic value. Definitely recommending the X1S to a couple friends that don't follow the industry as closely and have expressed interest in a Ultra HD player and interest in jumping into current gen.

Not bad, I would've just had two skus. 500gb is obsolete at this point even though I refuse to update my ps4 hdd lol. I guess you could just uninstall and reinstall.

I thought the Xbox was already reduced to $299, so why the fuss about this one?
The bluray stuff is interesting, but I thought the drive itself is a fairly standard bluray one?
Looks like I'll need to start thinking about a 4k upgrade in the next couple of years. Just tricky finding one to fit in my TV unit - I have a perfectly fitting 50" TV with slim bezel so I couldn't go any bigger.
edit: The HDR stuff is odd. Doesn't that take more bits per pixel and would therefore potentially require more power to generate?

Hearing the new pad is bluetooth. Is that true? That'd be fantastic for PC. The current dongle is HUGE for laptops.
