They prepare these things for a while. They're not going to make alterations at the 11th hour, it would be absolutely chaotic and it's actually even more of a reason to go as strong as possible.

Not really I guess, but it still puts a big cloud up there that is Scorpio is coming. If I were running Sony right now I'd unveil Neo and hit back with an available in Sept/Oct and remind everyone of some of the amazing games coming in the next 12 months that will support Neo mode. Gamers hate waiting.
Well Scorpio's reveal was pretty "big" and if we have to believe Andrew House then there'll be no PS Neo presence at E3 this year so Sony "needs" some good stuff to combat 2 new hardware reveals.I'm worried that Sony is going to tone down their conference now that MS did abysmally. 100%. If your competition did terribly, why not jog to the finish line? Sony has no reason to pull out all the stops now, they can distribute information more evenly throughout the year. Even Gopher's "poem" hinted to them revealing everything at this conference, why would they want/need to do that anymore?

These conferences are planned weeks in advance; they're not going to be making drastic changes the day of the event.
Ms had a solid showing but no surprises cos of leaks. Bad gameplay demos and lack of excitement because of said leaks.Scorpio announcement was a fart in the wind after everything being pc cross buy. They've basically said go buy a windows 10 steam box and get the best of both.Pc and ps4/neo for exclusives is the only way now tbh. Scalebound looks incredible though. Can't wait for that one.

You honestly think because the MS presser blew, that Sony is then going to react to that by doing the same? I mean really? That's not how business nor pressers work. Come on man...
It's a sign of superior strategic intelligence, or call it whatever you want. As many have pointed out, announcing the X1S and THEN a new and better version of the console coming a year later, in the same conference... it's a terrible choice. Not to mention the X1S is sexy as fuck, why not let it have all the attention....
I really hope Sony does what they said they will do, not talk about the Neo at their E3 Press Conf...
Dead Don't Ride, GOW4 reveal, TLG release date. Would be huge after what's been shown so far honestly.
I honestly think we'll be getting some good 3rd party reveals. I think Sefton Hill is at E3, We've been teased with a RE game, and RDR. Those announcements would get people hype as hell.
Also think the Slim reveal could have been handled a bit better. It's $299 for the 500gb and $399 for the 2TB

But i agree it was a good reveal, I just don't think people will give Sony credit here, they emulated the February event IMO with the whole "by the devs for you" marketing Sony started. I've posted it twice though so I don't wanna fanboy out, but the similarities I felt were there.

Well its been rumored that sucker punch is working on new IP here by some insiders i guess (initially they were assumed to be working on Spider man but later debunked with Insomniac doing that game instead and also it could be a VR game). Shu also said in an interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2oEbmyujIE, look at around 29 minutes) he is really excited for their new project last year, so it could be a new IP.

Because these events aren't reactionary games. They're planned ahead well in advance. Think about it.
Would sony fly someone in to do an e3 presentation then change everything less than 8 hours before the show? Highly doubtful.

Sony should easily win best show. Microsoft show was somewhat salvaged by the hardware announcement. The games didn't look impressive outside of Forza Horizon 3 and and State Of Decay 2.

The fact that Sony has already ruled out the Neo/4K being discussed at the conference shows that they're going hard with games. That will be their counter to hardware reveals/announcements.

scorpio got sony so shook they're gonna hold back announcing 2017 delayed to 2018 games next e3 to combat scorpio next year
I guess I just don't understand the point of having all that hardware if games still need to be designed with the lowest common denominator (Xbox One) in mind. Maybe I'll be won over to this new console philosophy but right now it's puzzling.
The Neo and Scorpio seem to be negating one of the great things about consoles, the introduction of a new hardware baseline. Now they're just going to be like PCs where yes the upper limits are very high but few take advantage of all that power.
