Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

Looks like it could be a great game. Hope the game is 60fps with those visuals (because they are not too impressive honestly).

Eh, I will be very surprised if Link talks. I suspect they'll more like be going for a Half LIfe like solution. NPCs talk and have character. The player character listens and is silent.

That's exactly what I expect and hope for.

It'll be 30. At least on Wii U, most likely NX too. There aren't any 3D Zeldas in 60FPS.

Good, we can stop pretending like he's player avatar and not a real character with a real name/personality/desires/etc

Yes! YES! That claim was a pet peeve of mine. He's developed some character traits in 3D Zelda games already, he's not a blank slate.

Zelda team learned something from Monolith Soft! Bless them.

I've decently gotten some massive Monolith vibes from the trailer. Might be they are helping with the technical side of the game?

PS. I need an hq version of that japanese logo, I think I found my new wallpaper.

If you thought this was interesting you should fire up Steam and have a look at the dozens of open world survival crafting games out there...

The last Zelda game I ever really got into was Link to The Past. The N64 3D style just never did it for me. But this, this looks really good and really fun.
Maybe I've softened to the style or maybe it reminds me of a solid open world RPG. I'm excited for this, maybe even more then FF15......maybe

I'm finally sold on the art style. Also, I like the gameplay elements they showed. Ilike that Zelda is joining the list of games with a bunch of climbing, and it looks like Link might use stamina while he's climbing. Also, chopping down trees and pushing boulders seems fun. I feel less nervous about how this will turn out now.

These graphics and gameplay mechanics being "new" for Nintendo in 2016 is what lets me a bit down.

I'll be getting an NX with it day one though.

comparing witcher 3 a next gen game to a wii u game...come on gaf. also, this may come for nx but its still limited by wii u hardware for parity.

/shrug

Witcher 3 might be better technically, but this is far more pleasing to me because of its art direction.

Really interested in seeing NX footage.

I have watched the trailer 3 times and I find myself still finding things with each viewing. The villain was supposed to be shown but was cut out.

I love love love that the climbing doesn't seem to rely on following carefully designed paths but seems completely free. What a great move.

Fuck yea, voice acting. Can keep link mute, but everyone else should be talking. no more worp worp noises every five fucking seconds, thanks.

Im not sure if i like it, i need to hear more but those few lines sounded pretty bad imo.

Also where is his green outfit?? :O

The wait was unbearable, but Nintendo delivered. The trailer was beautiful - the music was among the best pieces I've ever heard from Nintendo. Love the cel shaded look of the game, and the new abilities shown has me so hyped for this game. Not much else I can say at the moment...my favorite series of all time continues to look phenomenal.

Looks solid, but it's going in a different direction from what I want in a Zelda game. Would rather they left the open world stuff to AC and the others, who can probably do it way better. I wanted dungeon-oriented focus and barely any of that was shown in the trailer.

Two handed, heavy armor, some kind of key he uses to open a dungeon(?)

Man this game is really inconsistent graphically. Some parts look amazing though

Looks and especially sounds fantastic, but it's a bit worrying that the world seems very desolate and completely devoid of NPCs. I'm excited for further detais though.

I'm all in on the Ghibli vibes -- the art, the music, the Japanese logo. I like that the axe/woodcutting mechanic looks somewhat open to creative applications. Climbing will be fun for this, more-than-usually interesting open-world topography. Love the cooking idea and what looks like the return of the magnet glove.

Graphics look nice. Dated, sure. But as long the game runs at a solid framerate, I will be more than satisfied.

People complaining about how the world looks devoid of life have never spent any time out in the Wilderness. The world we live on has a lot of open space, too.

Not going to buy a Wii U for this, though that's tempting. I'd hop on the NX train, whenever this does release, though.

This is coming from someone who's most recently owned Nintendo products are Miitomo from a month ago, a GameBoy Color from 1999, and a Super Nintendo from 1993.

This game looks modern and gorgeous; both things I don't expect from Nintendo anymore.

Texhnically not the best but the art is gorgeous, music is beautiful and the game looks like its good fun. I'm in.
