Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

I wonder if some of the GamePad features were scaled back when the decision was made to port the game to NX as well. It's pretty obviously the slate was supposed to be a representation of the gamepad, were they previously going to have you wave the thing around and use it for aiming and such?

SotC didn't come out in 2017. SotC's world was amazing for its time, the vast scaleness of it all was breath taking. Now its normal and we expect more out of it decade later.

What do we expect? I actually find the idea of exploring a relatively untouched, wild area pretty intriguing.

It seems like they also put major depth into the exploration.

I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest we might be seeing the last desperation attempts for this company to hang with the rest of the industry and falling short, a lot like we did in the early 2000s with Sega. The wii/ds pushed that deadline back about 10 years for nintendo but its inevitable, I think.

IMO they should be moving to pc and mobile and would have a lot better chances.

SotC was actually heavily criticized for the emptiness of the world, some people wanted enemies and things to collect. The decision not to add things like that wasn't because the PS2 couldn't handle them either.

Maaaaaan this game.

Can't watch the stream, but I have some questions:

-does Link talk?
-can we play as female Link?
-what is different about the NX version?
-what is the release date (or window)?

Not so far
Demo started out with you waking up as regular Link, who knows
Guess would be higher resolution and higher framerate at least
March 2017?

The emptiness was important to SotC. Just because a space exists doesn't mean you need to cram it full of shit. Pulling off an open space that works all in its own does take a tremendous amount of skill though.

Performance issues on a Open World game that wont be out for another 9-12 months....yep shocking.

Still interested to see how it looks and performs on NX in comparison. Especially the NX handheld.
It's actually pretty typical of The Zelda fanbase to overreact and say that the next installment of the series is the worse. It's rinse, and repeat for them.
I dont think the majority of complains are coming from WiiU owners or Zelda fans.
