Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

The best thing ever is allowing these guys and gals to just freely play the game and occasionally fuck up and make mistakes.

That physics is hilarious

Yeah and people complained this would be too easy. After seeing that and the Guardian I don't think I'm concerned about difficulty at all. Weakling moblins that have always been in the series are not indicative of the game's difficulty.

What are the chances this one has some OoT style time travel mechanics? Has anyone picked up any clues on this perhaps? Also, while Bill was playing he wandered around near the runes of The Temple of Time and it was mentioned, while he was near the entrance, with the two fossilized sentries lying around, that these were alive in the trailer.

Has anyone got clues to what sort of gameplay mechanic (for instance OoT time travel or TP shadow realm) might bring about changes to this world?

And when can we expect a firm release date? (I just can't believe Nintendo not dropping this during holiday season, right?)

Random screengrabs from the stream.

Think that dude just said you could sequence break by doing things like equipping cold resistance? Was expecting it, but it's great to hear.

No, but I thought the same thing when Bill mentioned that. The comment about towns being held back from the demo because they're plot related makes me think they may be tied to a time travel or alternate reality mechanic. Like, you find the ruins of towns and visit them in the past through some technology.

This looks like the kind of game where you could spend 10 hours and not actually advance the plot.

Yep. After spending 400 hours with MGSV, and currently being in love with Xenoblade X I can say that I'm totally ecstatic to have another game like that to look forward to.

That boss was like Tardus from Metroid Prime. Somewhat resembling name, too.
I'm really impressed with the animations and physics in the game. They don't feel floaty at all.

They absolutely won't. Earliest is March 2017 along with the NX launch version. I imagine we'll know the release dates of both later this year when the NX reveal happens.

I'm leaning this way as well. After all, those huge guardian beamos things have to be able to move somehow.

This world seems so bland like TP. Where are the travelers and secrets?

Uh, they're not showing them because they do not want to spoil any story elements. Those aspects of the game are not in this demo.

And secrets wouldn't be secrets if they showed them...?
