Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

I guess going outside the plateau consist of standing on the edge and looking at what lies beyond haha.

I don;t get why they are so sensitive about spoilers. The story of Zelda has never been particularly interesting.

I don't think it's just the story but also the world that's out there. If they want to capture that Zelda 1 feeling, they have to not only limit story spoilers but also world spoilers so players can explore and discover the world on their own.

That's the philosophy behind this game. They want to capture that Zelda 1 experience where you start the game and you're let loose into the world to go anywhere you want!

And that's what makes me excited about this game, especially based on what Aonuma just said on stream. Exploration, going back to how things were structured in Zelda 1. Free from linearity!

There you go. There are towns and people.

They already showed nps in the first Zelda trailer...I guess a lot of people already forgot about that:

I haven't seen the tunic. Is it in the game? If not, worst game of all time and Zelda is ruined.

(If anyone is playing the demo at E3, please just run off as fast as you can as link and check your map before your time is up and see how far you got!)

You actually obtain and wear various clothes and armor that have various effects and defense. I bet the tunic is something you have to make or find.

Just where you jump off this first place will give you an entirely different start to the game.

Everything they keep saying only makes this game sound better.

I found the stories of all the games and the little connections and references fascinating =/

Seriously,if the final game plays anything remotely similar to what I'm seeing right here this is going to be the best Zelda game ever.

after OoT

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, so why is this having towns a big deal?

Was it ever said it won't have it? Kinda weird for a Zelda game to not have towns. Do people think there are no dungeons too? Lol

Welcome to Nintendo at E3 where if they don't explicitly state something people jump to crazy conclusions, or completely misconstrue it

Nintendo: Hey, we're focusing on exploration
Fans: What? There are NO NPCs or towns? WTF?

Nintendo: Here are a bunch of small shrines you can gain skills from.
Fans: What? There are no traditional dungeons?! Fuck you Nintendo!

From the Kotaku article:

the game is running on the Wii U at E3 but will also be available for Nintendo’s upcoming game platform NX, which launches next year. On Sunday, when a reporter asked if the games would differ, Aonuma said, “The users will be able to have the same experience in the NX version as they do with the Wii U version.”

man this game is going to be a speed-runners dream. Though I'd hate to be the guy to route this game. For instance I wonder if you can stand on chests?
If so you could possibly use the magnetic item to pull over a chest, jump to it to get more horizontal distance and glide or something.

Don't get me started on the stasis ability where you can store the force like with the boulder earlier. That has a lot of potential to break the game if you can get on the item/rock/etc before stasis is released (this will be the first thing I will try to do).

Arggghhhh! I need this NOW!

I'm almost 100% certain that Link's quest will be returning civilization to this "dead" Hyrule. Not sure if time travel is involved but everything seems to suggest this plotline to me.

bet there's some people shook from the sight of a character walking along the side of a mountain in 2016 without sliding down the shit

me, I'm just reveling in the freedom

This Zelda fan is happy. I had high hopes it would look this good, Nintendo is not going to wreck the Zelda franchise.

Now just give us a release date.
