As an Irishman who's country will be severely affected if the UK leaves, with particular ramifications for the border in the north, I really hope that you guys stay in. The EU needs huge reforms but a Transparent, democratic and united EU is worth fighting for.

How many Polish people work outside Poland in the EU? A lot. That's why.

Poland is also having some issues and fears about Russia. NATO is arming up in the east partly because of them. They are even training a militia in case of an occupation. Might seem to us a bit of an overreaction, but given the country's history, I can't blame them. A stronger EU is very much in their interest because of this.

I was being sarcastic when I said I have no idea why, as the Polish make up a the most numbers of EU immigrants here in the UK, it would seem logical that in reality Poland would be super keen for the UK to stay...

However it was reported all through the negotiations that the PM of Poland was playing hard ball, whilst commendable for his citizens it also could back fire as it meant Cameron came back with a nothing deal on benefits...

There will be no way to work out if leave win because of the deal he got on benefits , unfortunately

Benefits are such a red herring. It's kinda hilarious to see his own anti benefit claimants blow up in the cunts face though. Depressing at the same time because I'm remain.

Why would that be the reason?

The EU has always been a weird thing. Citizens of EU countries can just walk into Britain, yet all the Aussies, Kiwis and Canadans are queuing up in the immigration isle despite sharing a common head of state.

It doesn't make any sense I tell ya!

Well, they can't, everyone, even British citizens need their passport checking at the UK border.

The reason why EU citizens can enter to live and work is because we have reciprocal free movement, which doesn't exist between the UK and oz. Nothing stopping the 2 governments agreeing to it if they ever wanted to.

Slightly different experiences though. When I visit the UK I have the option of showing my British passport or NZ passport. Guess which one causes me to wait vastly longer.

Why would that be the reason?

Because Camerons promise was a 'reformed Europe' well his benefit reform is a joke, and he went in claiming he was going to block in work benefits for immigrants...

and he got nowhere near that, partly due to the Polish PM saying he would never support that.....

So, people may be voting leave because Camerons 'reforms' are nonsence

Since the queen doesnt rule these countrys and they rule themself, it makes pretty much sense.

New Zealand would never want that, as we would be like Poland is to the UK, we would flood over there

Isn't that normal? Of course you can go through quicker if you have a passport of the country you are going to.

Or do you mean the EU/non-EU lines at airports?

I see.

The British Empire is (thankfully) over. The commonwealth is cool (I am an Australian citizen after all) but why do we seem to be focusing on countries that are thousands of kilometres away from us rather than only hundreds?

Australia, Canada, New Zealand... they're all evolving in their own ways too. As time goes on, we're going to find ourselves having less in common culturally and politically with the other commonwealth nations as they forge their own destinies. Europe is growing and in a world that is coming increasingly global and the issues that affect us are international by their very nature, why would we consider turning our backs on our own neighbours? It literally makes no sense to me.

Which is why the line about our immigration policy favouring Europe over NZ is bollocks - we can go. And live and work in Europe, and we can't in NZ. Europe is favoured for a reason.

As an onlooker over from mainland EU this is all really thrilling. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes... :( Imho this referendum/the Brexit is a lose-lose situation, whatever outcome.
I also highly doubt there will be peace of mind after this for a long time. It is very likely going to be a very close outcome and whatever side loses will be bitter about it, since the consequences will be without exaggeration huge.

... one day we'll have a decent team again, won't we? Please?

We *have* a decent team. Just happens it is the Welsh team for a change. #bettertogether

Edit: so much for a quiet day, just got invaded by two coach loads of old ladies from the Rhondda. If I get a word in edgeways I'll ascertain their voting intentions. Fat chance.

You've just covered large portions of the arguments of both Remain and Leave camps with this paragraph.

I guess I'm just questioning the point of having a shared head of state and a commonwealth when it means sod all really. The free movement around the EU is great, I'm not against it at all. Just wish there was slightly freer movement between Canada, Australia and NZ also.

Well I can't just upsticks and move to Australia, NZ or Canada to live and work without going through a long and restrictive immigration process.

It works both ways.

I'm absolutely sick of it. I tried ignoring it but Farage's dog whistles pulled me back in with anger.

How Farage is treated like a distinguished politician is disgraceful and a horrible reflection of our seedy underbelly. How this 5 or 6 times loser of elections matters is baffling.

Fuck Farage - I hope he dissapears regardless of result.

Why do you have the Queen? Nothing stopping you dumping her.

Every single word.

Leavers want less immigration not more.

Side point but you don't actually need the queen to be in it, few countries have nothing to do with her but are in.

I still can't get my head around how the term "expert opinion" has become an insult. Sooner this shit is over the better.

as some one who is voting leave I will try to explain...

1st expert...ok that is valid point

2nd expert....ok you just said exactly the same

3rd expert.....ok, do any of these experts actually have anything different to say other than the sky is about to fall in, and they wont be as rich.

4th expert....sigh....just sigh

and what are we up to know...1300 or some daft number........it feels completely like a stitch up, all saying the same....they wont be as rich and we will be poorer, and if we really upset them they are going to take their ball and leave....

Threats never work well

So it's the fact that they agree with each other?

Oh yeah I know. Some members weren't even originally part of the empire right?

Australia is pissed off with the amount of UK people who go there as it is, can you imagine how many of us would go if it was free movement

Well all the kiwis moving back to NZ made some extra room.

I don't understand. The experts have such a universal consensus that...? They're lying? They're conspiring with one another? If it were one or two experts, you'd believe them, but such a glut is somehow unreliable?

What a world you live in. You talk such rubbish.

Maybe you're just not talking the same language. Do you not worry about your lack of due diligence?
