Don't feel bad. I had to spend an embarrassing amount of time glued to my screen to get it. Most boring thing I've ever done lol.

EDIT: For anyone who wants them. It really helps to spam these ass to cart links when you know or think a card might be in stock. Also, remember that when a card comes in and looks like it goes out of stock just keep trying. That's how I got mine about an hour and a half after the FTW went "out of stock." There are returns and cancelations for various reasons and they put it back in stock immediately. I had the card in my cart several times with it removing it most of the times and also several times where I completed the order but it canceled even after giving me my order number. I ended up contacting chat this time though and got confirmation that it went through.

May31st Amazon order, still no update. Just waiting it out.
 
Got my FTW installed and tried out some Witcher 3. In the short time I played I was boosting to 2012mhz out of the box, not too shabby! I'm so stoked to finally be off integrated graphics.

Edit: Before this build my computer was an iMac from 2011 with a radeon 6970m. I can't believe games could look this good.

welcome to 2016 tech, young man. the difference can be jarring.

going from a 6970m to a 1080 is probably similar to what Captain America felt like when stepping into modern NYC for the first time. Take it slow...take it all in...
 
I have an extra EVGA FE if anyone's looking for a card in St. Louis area, West county. It's sealed and will be going back to Best Buy where I'm sure it won't last long.

To be clear, not looking to sell or make a buck.. but will coordinate a bit if someone wants to scoop it.

Go for it the palit and gainward cards so far are proving to be one of the best when it comes to performance out the box and the cooling they offer.
 
Can't believe this card is still sold out almost a month after launch. Gonna have to be super on point to get a Pascal Titan in a reasonable time frame. Nvidia is probably gonna raise the price on that too after seeing these kinds of results.
 
If you guys are really desperate, check your local Best Buy. At my store we had three 1080s and 2 1070s. All reference nvidia designs, but hey.

Guess it doesnt make sense for me to get the asus which is 200$ more expensive than the zotac version right?

Asus cards are always more expensive here but this time it is 1000+ here. Almost 40% mark up.

Ha yeah would sync up for a return. I think it's better for the buyer's warranty registration. Selling at cost would be ok but looking to avoid drama. Could likely make a buck but would definitely open up the possibility for drama there.

Anyways it probably goes back tomorrow or Friday. Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone was looking. This one was ordered from Best Buy and drop shipped straight from EVGA, arrived this afternoon. Have enjoyed my other FE card and would recommend.

Nope, they are all the exact same card. Partners just slap their name on the end of it, but other than that there is no difference.

He said "non FE" though, so I assume he is talking about OC potential and general performance of partner cards. I think we've yet to see a comprehensive comparison of all partner cards in terms of thermal and noise (which is the major concern with them this time around due to little overclock headroom) so it's hard to say right now. None of the custom cooling solutions turned out to be bad however.

It also matters that they have lower PSU requirements. 500 watt would be more fit for a midrange system. One reason I did not have to switch the 4 year old 650w Silverstone PSU.

An 980ti would have lead the PSU to its limits. The 1080 along with an i7 4xxx gen CPU can use 3/4 of the PSU at max setting

Since i am not really going to OC it, i guess i will just buy it. Spending those 200$ on other thing seems more reasonable. Gonna get Zotac AMP 1080 as it is ready stock.

I'm finally getting around to testing my msi with the Vive. So far everything that gave my 970 fits is smooth as butter on the 1080. As a VR enthusiast, I'm super pleased.
 
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask or not. But i am really debating between 1080 and a 1070 and i need some help from you guys.

which one.m should i go for ? I usually change video cards every year or year and a half. Currently i am on full hd screnn but i might change that soon to 2k @ 144 or 4k screen ( most likely i will stay at full hd this year)

I used to have 980ti and i sold it just in time before it price drop because i was thinking if of 1070 will be higher than titan x and i wont lose money. But the 1080 seems way more powerful to ignore .

Again should i avoid any brands ? Have been hearing problems with the 1080 cards thermal issue etc

Spring for the 1080. A 1070 is a sidestep from a 980Ti at best.

Companies i should avoid buying from ? Problems like coil whine from dpecific retailers ? Should i go with FE ? Problem is i buy from sellers in the Local market to avoid shipping costs and warrenty ( I am out side Canada right now )
 
My Gigabyte G1 Gaming card's fan kept turning on and off on its own when idling, I fixed this by updating GPU BIOS and uninstalling Xtreme gaming engine. Card no longer does that now.
 
Hmm, my card seems to act up (at least on one of my monitors) after I wake the computer up from hibernate. I get minor artifacts on the screen when on desktop. Only on the monitor on the DVI-connector though. Anyone else? (No extra OC on the card other than factory OC)

Or I'll just turn off hibernate, usually don't have it enabled, but OS is recently installed so on by default.

I tend to stick to the old favorites like Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA, MSI. Zotac, Palit seem ok as well. Not sure on the others.

Cool whine seems like much less of a problem this time around.

Don't get FE. Some you tubers have noticed thermal throttling of the card back to base clock after a short period of gaming.

Get from Amazon Newegg if you can, cheaper if you don't mind sending it back becoz of issues.

agree but the pint is : u have to wait.
It's almost impossible to inf custom cards at the moment.
how much we'll have to wait? another month?
