EU parliament was reformed with Lisbon Treaty that entered into force in 2009. I know it was a small step forward, with giving more power to the EP and such. But anyway, reforms happen, they happen slowly but nevertheless they do happen.

Important part is to get people elected who drive the change you want both in your parliamentary elections as well as European parliamentary election.
