Using a bad source that turns out to be wrong isn't a strawman, it's called being stupid. I was silly to use a propaganda film as a source and someone else pointed it out in a more useful way, which I thanked them for. None of that is strawmanning :/
Just throwing this out there, but if you want to convince someone they're wrong, it pays not to be condescending or insulting, that's just a good way of making someone ignore you, much like I have been doing up until now. Then again, I'm sure you don't need a lecture from me on how to debate with someone, right? :P

I didn't want to convince you you're wrong, I wanted to take the piss out of your conspiracy theories.

The Grauniad doesn't disappoint with it continually mixing up the Leave and Remain figures!

Also:

"Let's go to news."
"Counting is underway in the EU Referendum results."

NO SHIT SHERLOCK

My mum's best mate is a manager at JP Morgan. Apparently her bosses came down for meetings a week ago and basically told them to vote to remain and hope everyone does the same for the sake of their jobs.

Not sure if that's a common thing recently in the banking sector

I'm not even sure if that's legal? Lol.

Apparently my local area in South Wales (Vale of Glamorgan) is edging towards a "Leave" vote.

Not surprising, this place (Barry, same dive Gavin & Stacey was filmed in) is a fucking shithole and I regret moving here last year.

Yeah, it certainly feels like people are leaning towards leave here in Blaenau Gwent. Wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

Seems it. A lot is at stake, so I understand the anxiety.

I get it, but honestly I worry for the health of some of these guys hearts, being in a constant state of panic must have some adverse health effects on their hearts

This seems pretty... unethical?

I would have thought Wales would be fairly strong remain right?

If we had any fucking sense we would be. Massive EU investment, and fuck all in the way of immigration...

...but no, you speak to people in the poorer areas and all their worries are because of immigrants. =/

I'm sure if we do leave people up here (North East) will wonder why we're all worse off (Working class)

Same shit all the time, vote for things and then act surprised at them happening
It's mental, but The Sun is one of the most popular newspapers in Britain, so in the end it shouldn't be a huge surprise sadly.

Not sure, i'm in the financial sector and my MD is very pro-leave. Privately owned company .

So far this thead is much more rewarding than all of E3 in terms of NeoGaf meltdowns.

Being emotional when your livelihood is at stake is quite a bit different than freaking out that a toy commercial didn't go your way.

"Meltdowns" are warranted in this case.

Everyone needs to calm down. Remain is going to win. A few duff results don't mean anything.

I keep thinking about the world's end film.

The EU are the collective and well we are the main charaxtees. How long we tell them to fuck of back to Lego land? This is scaring me . The fucking sun readers have fucked us

If the UK leaves the EU it doesn't matter if it's tomorrow or in 2 years, we will lose those clients no matter what.
Sure, but you'll have time to find new ones. Also there will be some kind of agreement with the EU on market access, even though Germany, France and the the Commission will do their best to rake the UK over the coals as much as they can.

It's the bloody Scottish that could really if they were clever enough could fuck us right over, they vote leave so they can then split off from Britain.

Is there some study that ranks how dumb newspapers around the globe are? I'd really like to read one.

My point is, not everyone who is voting leave is a xenophobic moron that goes around shouting "Bladdy immigrunts av ruined this cantry"

I mean, it's true that some of the nativist xenophobia is dressed up in Oxbridge sophistry rather than just being pub bloke stuff, yes, but it's also true that there's a massive divide across education and class. There are brown dudes who vote Republican in the US, there are Scots who vote Tory, there are educated people who vote for Leave here, there are scientists who think evolution is a sham. We can still generalize effectively; the structure of the vote for Brexit is going to be highly regional, further determined by regional blue collar-white collar and age divides. It's OK to be a white collar guy who votes like a blue collar guy or whatever, I don't think this needs to cause you insecurity.

Not even mad, will support.

Then the rest of the country can just become Scotland and London can be England. lol.

That makes absolutely no sense. According to the British attitude survey, Scotland and London are the two areas with the most in common! London is closer to Scotland in terms of people's beliefs and attitudes than it anywhere else in England.

Fucking Barry ay, lol.

Indeed, it was something I tried to explain to some guys in work, Wales gets money from the EU. If we leave we sure aren't going to get that money from London.

The Valleys and surrounding areas were much more vocal towards leave as well, unfortunately.

Praying we remain.
